Well that article wasn't fun to read.

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and uhhh….dodge!
December 28th, 2022 at 6:55 PM ^
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a free safety. Or something like that.
December 28th, 2022 at 2:54 PM ^
I've always known it as the 7 Ps....with PROPER on the front end. But spot on...
December 28th, 2022 at 11:03 AM ^
I would actually argue the title does not say it all - the WRs are Henning, Anthony, and Walker, for anyone curious.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:50 AM ^
Agreed. Title should name the WRs.
December 28th, 2022 at 12:12 PM ^
Moreover, the article says that the three were "less than full participants in practice" - which could mean that they are out, but is not definitive.
December 28th, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
Not to mention “Morris might go” is also incorrect as Morris is now fully healthy
December 28th, 2022 at 4:52 PM ^
A fully armed Battle Station.
December 28th, 2022 at 5:03 PM ^
Fire at will, Commander.
December 28th, 2022 at 5:20 PM ^
"WTF did I do?!?!?!"
- Will
December 28th, 2022 at 6:56 PM ^
Who's Will?
December 28th, 2022 at 7:31 PM ^
Morris himself said that he would play and hoped to be 90% by game time.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:07 AM ^
Well, Henning is important on returns. though i don't always love his decisions... he's been solid enough. Field position is always an important factor and letting balls bounce and roll inside the 10, or catching it inside the 7 is not always an easy concept. Maybe Wilson could take that spot? he's utilized so lightly on offense, might be a chance to get him the ball.
Always nice to have the threat of henning on offense as a do it all guy..
They've had a month, hopefully this isn't brand new info and we've worked guys in
December 28th, 2022 at 11:22 AM ^
Henning is great, but Ronnie Bell will likely be taking the punts and Ronnie Bell is a gamer, he has that edge…I could see him making a big return play in the next game (or 2!!)
December 28th, 2022 at 3:53 PM ^
Ronnie Bell’s punt return was huge in that Illinois game, when our O was floundering without The Don and Blake.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:27 AM ^
In this game specifically I think Henning’s most likely contribution would be edge plays (jet sweep, reverses) - it is a shame either way if he can’t play.
December 28th, 2022 at 12:17 PM ^
maybe - but we didnt do any of that against osu. and i saw less and less of it as the season went on. I dont know enough about TCUs defense, but if they are speedy, those jet sweeps arent as effective, except to keep them off balance?
Surely someone else on the roster can do that - wilson is smaller, but..
If this is the worst injury news we get, ill take it.
December 28th, 2022 at 12:28 PM ^
Roman Wilson can fill the speedy reverse back role.
December 28th, 2022 at 1:56 PM ^
According to the latest podcast, TCU is brawny at LB and therefore might not have the sideline-to-sideline speed you might think. Which might make them vulnerable to jet sweeps and the like. I have no independent confirmation of this, though.
December 28th, 2022 at 2:59 PM ^
So... theyre wisky on defense and Purdue-ish on offense.
December 28th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
Nope, TCU plays strictly at hyperspeed. As they've made very clear.
December 28th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
Ronnie Bell is better than Henning as a return man though so Michigan should be just fine there
December 28th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
Ronnie Bell is solid in punt returns. He had a really nice return against Illinois in crunch time
December 28th, 2022 at 11:08 AM ^
The name of their practice facility… Diablo Stadium. It’s not the Big House, but a pretty good name nonetheless.
December 28th, 2022 at 3:10 PM ^
Fun fact: El Diablo is Spanish for The Diablo
December 28th, 2022 at 6:57 PM ^
Fun fact: my roommate used to stay up into the wee hours of the morning every night playing Diablo online in the mid-90s when we were students at dear old Michigan.
December 28th, 2022 at 7:44 PM ^
Which is Spanish for Da Don
December 28th, 2022 at 2:17 PM ^
Fun fact: When Pope John Paul II visited Sun Devil Stadium back in '87, Sparky the Sun Devil and his likeness around the stadium (ASU's "Sun Devil" mascot) had to be covered in the presence of the Pope. Legend has it that it cost $200k and the stadium was called Sun Angel Stadium for the day.
It is my hope that it will be called Horned Frog Massacre Stadium come Saturday.
December 28th, 2022 at 2:52 PM ^
I like your thinking, but Sun Devil Stadium is in Tempe, while the game's in Glendale (State Farm Life Stadium). Like Herm said in his introductory press conference "Devils? Ain't no Devils around here."
December 28th, 2022 at 5:26 PM ^
And because State Farm could also be construed as a reference to communism, might we call it Hard Work Free Enterprise Bootstrap Stadium for the evening as well?
December 28th, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
Fun fact: Sparky the Sun Devil was designed by an ex Disney animator to look like his old boss, Walt Disney.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:08 AM ^
I’m not sure how you read that and determined Morris “might go”, it said he was a full participant.
I was wondering if Moten would give LB a go, he is almost already LB size. Glad to hear Mullings is full time at RB, pretty likely he will get second most carries in this game.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:28 AM ^
An interesting side bet - who carries more times: Mullings or McCarthy.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:36 AM ^
McCarthy.
December 28th, 2022 at 12:02 PM ^
I’m rooting for Mullins because that would mean many short yard situations, which implies sustained drives.
December 28th, 2022 at 3:11 PM ^
But who will have more pass attempts?
December 28th, 2022 at 3:20 PM ^
Well played!
December 28th, 2022 at 3:24 PM ^
McCarthy will. As LB-FB-QBs go, Mullings is strictly a game manager….
December 28th, 2022 at 8:03 PM ^
Game manager he says . . .
December 28th, 2022 at 11:11 AM ^
The information is limited and does not state that they are out for the game. In any event we need to play on.
Ronnie Bell, CJ and Roman Wilson are all still available.
Perhaps Mikey Sainristil we play both sides.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:17 AM ^
Not overly concerned with who the three are, though losing Henning and Anthony isn't great, it's not a back breaker.
I'm not too worried about who will spot in at PR, we've got more than enough people with skills to be able to be the punt returner, including Ronnie, who has experience.
December 28th, 2022 at 2:02 PM ^
The problem isn't really losing any one of them in particular, it's losing so many WRs at once. No team plays only three WRs without rotating more guys, they'd get exhausted. If all three are out Clemons and maybe someone else are going to have step up and at least block and run some good routes
December 28th, 2022 at 6:15 PM ^
JH will just put an extra tight end on the field. Probably was going to do this anyway.
December 28th, 2022 at 11:19 AM ^
Bell, CJ, and Wilson will get 95% of WR snaps anyway so this is basically irrelevant other than maybe punt returns but Ronnie Bell is just as good. Morris should be full go or close enough - it’s been 6 weeks since (presumed) ankle sprain.
December 28th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
WR is the deepest position group on the roster. Blocking may suffer with the backups but I don't think catching ability will drop much, if at all.
December 28th, 2022 at 3:49 PM ^
Except this leaves zero room for injury/error. All the remaining WRs are totally inexperienced.
