Let these teams go to 5 OTs. Dead legs for Saturday
The color/play by play guys calling out these refs is a bit of an eye opener. I know the B10 has bad refs, but a neutral set of eyes watching these clowns fuck up call after call says a hell of a lot more than UM people giving the refs shit game after game.
It's obvious that every B10 ref should be shit canned ASAP
This has been rehashed so many times. No, it's not about quality of the institution, ours or theirs.
It's about the College of LS&A not offering the class 1-1 in terms of content alignment. If LS&A doesn't offer that course, then they aren't going to give credit for 'eh close enough: you wrote a few papers, let's call it Comp 220.' And they aren't accepting 2/3 credits for the class if most of the content aligns with a UM course. The fidelity level is course accepted/not accepted.
It is what it is, but I can't blame the deans of the colleges. Atheltics doesn't have power to overule any of the colleges in the UM
The offisides rule is intended to remove cherry-picking by ensuring that the guys with the puck is 1st/tied for 1st into the scoring zone, not hanging out by the goalie all day. Being a half centimeter offsides doesn't mean that team had an unfair advantage in any way. The off-puck player still was basically even with the puck as it entered the zone.
These are the insane things about about replay, going back to "process of the catch" in football that I can't stand. Or zooming in to zapruder the tape of an elbow that may have grazed a single blade of grass. The point isn't to be handcuffed to the minute letter of the rule for the sake of upholding the rule just for the rule's sake. If it's so godammed close that we have to pause for 4 mins, go back in time, measure with a micometer and a magnifying glass, well what the hell are we doing here man?
The puck entered the zone at the same time as the 1st player. Or at least close enough (at deemed by the refs BTW) that no advantage was gained. Let's play the fucking game.
I suspect this is a result of having 350+ DI programs. You can get a HC job at 30 in hoops, but it'll be at SW Conneticuit St. Now, you can have that success and have a quick turn around, but that will get you to like, the MAC or the MAAC. Now, from there you can advance to an low level P5 like GT or PSU and THEN you can get to a top 30 program. But that takes like 15 years of pretty sustained success across at least 2, likely 3 or even 4 programs. But UConn, KU, UK, etc won't take a 35 y/o guy just b/c get turned SW Conneticuit St from 5-25 to 25-5 in 4-5 years.
In football you can go from GA to position coach to coordinator and then there are 125 programs so to HC so by age 35 right to like UBuffalo or Nevada for 5-6 years and by 40-45 you're a candidate for almost any program.
I'm rooting for this if only to see UNC (and to a lesser extent NCSt, Duke, Wake) absolutely shit themselves.
The ACC is known as the "All Carolina Conference" to the rest of the league, so it would be funny watching the good 'ole boys that ran themselves into the dirt freak out and likely circle the wagons around UNC, UVa, Duke, and the leftovers from the Pac12 of all places.
They were 2-22 just 3 years ago (0-18 in conference play!) and now they’re a 1/2 seed in the tournament and Big 12 champs. I’m sure he used transfers to usher in this turn around, ...
I'm not sure why there's a down side here re: using transfers in today's environment.
Can we get Isaiah Hole to reveal that his sources say that Juwan has an extension all but signed, then I'd feel muuuuuch better about the program. IYKWIMAITTYD
This was my exact experience. They are basically loose hinges which is a blessing at this point (46). It probably won't be quite the same again, but then again from age 15-45 I sprained each ankle so many times I still walk focused on not stepping to trun an ankle.
We live in America. It's the land of millionaires who think they're middle class, Millionaire who think they're billionaires and 40% of the population is within one paycheck of poverty.
$100M is easy to spend when you think you're entited to a $50M mansion.
I think 14 or 16 teams is too much and 14 is just a temp bridge to 16.
But if they do this, the conf title games need to go away. Byes are incentivising the teams to win title games, but w/o that it's an extra game that a good team has a chance to either drop out of the playoff or lose significant seeding. I don't think home sites for a round or two are enough incentive.

My personal opinion is that John Beilein is the best basketball coach in the history of the sport.
Not best recruiter, not best personality, not the biggest name.
But if you're looking for the best person to coach a basketball team, there aren't many I'd consider ahead of Beilein.
Is that a male plane?
you're being pedantically obtuse.

Much easier to get in these days to MSU (85% admit rate), and MUCH MICH harder to get into UM (18% admit rate).

Is there any *good* news to read about today? Like, in the world not just on this blog.

But I'll allow it.
And agree with it. Vociferously
It's not too soon. It's too late
You can't convince these people. They don't believe in evidence or reason. They only belive in the fairy tales of their faith.
I'll choose to read this all as 100% good news (TM).

OOS they tend not to provide much unless the student is uniquely exceptional meaning they have a very unique hook.
Michigan has prioritized the GoBlueGuar. for instate student financial assistance, can't blame them.
Same; mine was deferred. We will see. She'd be a potential 4th generation in my family that goes back to the century prior to the previous one.
