Well, they're obviously trying to duck Northwestern.

I only have 1 upvote to give
December 17th, 2020 at 5:02 PM ^
I only regret that I have but one point to use for my message board.
Apologies to Nathan Hale.

Very good yourself
December 17th, 2020 at 5:07 PM ^
Just gave you one of mine.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:44 PM ^
Well played. You win !
December 17th, 2020 at 5:24 PM ^
I would LOVE it if Desmond went on ESPN and basically said the same thing Herbie did. "This situation from OSU could be them trying to avoid a loss this weekend knowing that they're already in the top-4 with just 5 games so why risk a loss to Northwestern."
(Okay.....I wouldn't really love it since I'd like to think Desmond has more integrity than to be irresponsible like Herbie....but maybe he can do it tongue-in-cheek to give him a hard time.)
December 17th, 2020 at 7:25 PM ^
I would love to hear him say that and then look Herbie in the eyes and say “isn’t that what you said about us?”
December 17th, 2020 at 9:07 PM ^
He wouldn’t do it on air but you can bet he will behind the scenes.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:23 PM ^
May your comment break the thumbs up counter thingy.
December 17th, 2020 at 7:07 PM ^
I have been on this board for a couple years, this 121 upvotes is the most I have seen for 1 comment ever. Well done.
December 17th, 2020 at 10:56 PM ^
You missed the 250+ one about WD making an avatar saluting himself.
December 17th, 2020 at 7:45 PM ^
It was the obvious response but it deserves all the upvotes for being first and flawlessly delivered.
December 17th, 2020 at 7:47 PM ^
@pink
upvoted.
December 17th, 2020 at 7:49 PM ^
They're also trying to duck the CFP committee that's going to leave them out regardless of Saturday's outcome.
December 17th, 2020 at 8:11 PM ^
This is basically going viral (albeit within the blog only). You should promote your Soundcloud or something.
December 17th, 2020 at 8:24 PM ^
This has to be a record.
fuckers
December 17th, 2020 at 4:38 PM ^
Would the championship game get rescheduled, or would they be co-champs? Or would IU replace OSU like the Pac12 did?
December 17th, 2020 at 4:45 PM ^
Co-champs, and IU has covid issues and isn't playing this weekend.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:47 PM ^
IU is already out with COVID. It would next fall to Maryland. But they are out as well. So under such a hypothetical, that Michigan-Penn State game was for the division and a chance at a conference title. (Or would have been, if Michigan weren't also out.)
December 17th, 2020 at 4:48 PM ^
Nope, IU and Purdue jointly announced their games' cancellation this weekend because both schools have covid issues.
Next up in the B1G East would be Maryland,...er, no... Penn State, er, wrong again?... Staee???
Better than that, I'd rather the B1G chooses Iowa as NU's opponent. Or cancels the Championship Game altogether.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:59 PM ^
That would be pure 2020 if MSU got in Saturday and then beat Northwestern...
December 17th, 2020 at 5:04 PM ^
It was talked about on Sirius if they didn't let OSU into the title game the penn state would be the East Rep in the title game because they have won more games than maryland and where the B1G seeded them since Indiana cannot play
SO if OSU cannot go and they are still trying to play whoever is up next that wouldn't be indiana, but Penn fucking state and the trash team they mustered together this year.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:17 PM ^
With a 4-5 record, Franklin's 2nd Big Ten title would be somehow more inexplicable than his first
December 17th, 2020 at 5:20 PM ^
The B1G 10 would get together and decide not to play the game out of "an abundance of caution" and vote to give the Conference Title to the team with the highest winning percentage.
Y'all know how this works by now....
December 17th, 2020 at 6:16 PM ^
I hope they have to play short-handed, and Northwestern kicks their ass.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:26 PM ^
Chances of that happening are between 0 and none.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:48 PM ^
They could probably suit up 11 players and still win by 2+ touchdowns...
December 17th, 2020 at 7:11 PM ^
The Big Ten will make any arrangements necessary to get around this hurdle and make sure OSU gets to represent.
December 17th, 2020 at 8:01 PM ^
OSU will throw pads on cheerleaders if it allows them to play.
December 17th, 2020 at 7:30 PM ^
They would just give it to osu cause they would just figure they would of won anyway!
December 17th, 2020 at 4:38 PM ^
You hate to see it
December 17th, 2020 at 4:41 PM ^
Calm down...I just heard that the B1G Conference leadership is going to mandate that all B1G Universities, starting with Michigan, divert their supply of the COVID vaccine that was intended for their hospital staff to be sent to Columbus immediately. No Ohio players will need to sit out for the B1G Conference Championship nor the BCS playoffs!
December 17th, 2020 at 5:15 PM ^
On one hand, clearly sarcasm; on the other, is it really that farfetched?

December 17th, 2020 at 7:27 PM ^
You joke, but there is already talk of the B1G changing their 21 day covid rule to help OSU with the CFP
December 17th, 2020 at 4:42 PM ^
Big Ten will probably have Dotson from Psu or Fryfogle from Indiana suit up for them.
GO BLUE
December 17th, 2020 at 4:44 PM ^
They dodging northwestern! Cowards.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:44 PM ^
They are sure to make the CFP now. It won’t matter if they play or not. This is a screwed up season so you can count on it.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:46 PM ^
Scuttlebutt is Olave. Supposedly, the AD is going to work with conference leadership to undo the 21 day rule.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:53 PM ^
"21 days? Whoops, heh heh. We meant hours"

Have to love that, despite the nation being in the worst portion of the pandemic yet in terms of cases, hospitalizations, deaths and positivity rates (and Ohio too - I live there and see those numbers every day), that an organization as thoughtful and cautious as the Big Ten is *loosening* their health regulations.
God Bless America.
December 17th, 2020 at 4:52 PM ^
Good**. I hope they miss the game and the committee is pressured to leave them out because 5-0 with one close victory over a ranked opponent (and the other 4 games against garbage competition) isn't enough data to go off of.
I'm serious. Imagine it's not OSU but Wisconsin with that resume (and having to duck the Big Ten Championship game)...is that enough for them to get it?
I guess my point is fuck Ohio and fuck the special treatment everyone seems to afford them.
**Note I am NOT SAYING it's "good" their players have covid. I of course do not wish any harm on them and hope nobody gets seriously ill. The context here has only to do with the special treatment OSU is always afforded. It's about time for things to NOT go their way for once.
December 17th, 2020 at 5:34 PM ^
OSU gets in the college football playoff regardless if they play in the B1G championship or not.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:20 PM ^
Nope.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:52 PM ^
I’d rather have the B1G represented in some fashion than see 2 SEC & 2 ACC teams...
December 17th, 2020 at 9:30 PM ^
IIf OSU can't go, if they put a shitty Texas A&M team that got boatraced by Bama or an equally shitty Florida in the CFB, they might as well just expand it to 8 teams now cause that is not going to fly with 90% of the country. Even in this fucked up season, if you have two losses and one of them being to a terrible LSU team you are in no way deserving of a playoff spot
December 17th, 2020 at 7:26 PM ^
Wisconsin? Imagine if it were Cincinnati...oh wait we don’t have to imagine.
