Yeah... My dad and I looked at each other and we simultaneously said "hammered."
November 10th, 2013 at 9:37 PM ^
She's not hammered, she just didn't execute.

I just think she needs a new coordinator. Are their any up-and-coming speech coordinators out there? I think we should pay whatever it takes to bring the speech coordinator at Stanford to Michigan.

Some might say that this is a day of great shame for MSC and the University of Michigan

This is the greatest YouTube video of all time.

I was beyond hammered when I heard this live and STILL thought she sounded like she was destroyed. It sounds even worse now that I'm sober.

You may be right about the cold medicine. I was in a meeting with her the day before the game and she was pretty sick...

Are we sure it was drinking? It could be but that would be, well, stupid.
I would worry it would be something serious.

So who should be fired for putting drunk MSC out there in this condition? Borges? Whoever made that call to do this though should be held accountable. IMO
November 10th, 2013 at 9:36 PM ^
She saw the same 1st half we did.....who can blame her.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
Krunk, or major medical emergency.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:40 PM ^
Far more entertaining and yet somehow similar to MSC and the 2013 football season.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
I think that's the only thing left that we can do to feature Jet Pack Guy.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
Wow. I went to take a leak during half and when I got back my wife said whoever was just speaking was hammered. Being hammered myself I really didnt understand what she was referring to until now.
Holy Shit that's freaking awesome. Even the President of the University needs to get sauced up to watch this team play. Now I dont feel quite so alone.

Moeller was gone way before MSC got hired.
November 10th, 2013 at 10:49 PM ^
And it's too bad that this always gets trotted out when there's an alcohol-related incident. People who know Gary Moeller will tell you he was never more than an occasional social drinker. Never out of control, always mild-mannered. He had one bad night, someone taped it, it got blown up on TV, Michigan and Moeller's lawyers alike totally botched how it was handled... And forever, he's the coach with the drinking problem. He didn't hurt anyone, he didn't crash a car, he didn't destroy any property. He was just drunk.
Yes, he deserved to face the consequences for his actions, but it was a pretty badly handled situation at all levels from the president on down to the lawyers. And he doesn't deserve to be treated like a drunk for the rest of his life.

You can thank Les Miles for that night of debauchery.
November 11th, 2013 at 12:44 PM ^
First off, BC, thanks for defending Moeller here. The way he got branded after that night at Excalibur was shameful, and he deserves better from the Michigan fanbase.
Second, it's both a bit better and worse than what you state: "He had one bad night, someone taped it, it got blown up on TV".
Moeller got screwed by the Southfield PD. The infamous tape was made at Providence Hospital by the police. An admitted MSU fan and police officer saw fit to release the tape to the press, and that's what triggered the Moeller dismissal. As someone with experience working in the state of MI's courts at the time, there is no good reason to do this from a law enforcement perspective. It was a shameful abuse of discretion, and cost Moeller dearly. This is based on memory, but I recall it pretty clearly.
However, Moeller's actions at Excalibur were worse than being "just drunk", at least if police reports are to be believed. Look HERE for a complete description, but Moeller's behavior went well-beyond "just drunk".
For all of that, Gary Moeller loved Michigan with all his heart, had an awful night where he did not actually hurt anyone, and got thrown under the bus because of a press leak that never should of happened. I was sorry to see him fired back then, and am happy to see him welcomed at games and other university functions as we move forward.

or to restrain myself because she actually had something medically going on.

I didn't know what the hell was going on at the time but this time around it's funny although I wish there wasn't a copy of it anywhere.
November 10th, 2013 at 9:47 PM ^
Listening to the video now, after the fact, just freaks me out. Is it more than being totally drunk?
November 11th, 2013 at 1:20 AM ^
We should probably re-hire Rich Rod and ask him how he feels about the question you proposed.

I hope she was just drunk and it is not a medical condition. She's not exactly a spring chicken anymore.

November 10th, 2013 at 9:49 PM ^
Scary. As someone else said it sounds like someone who had a mild stroke. It's like a female version of Dick Clark but with milder condition. And if not that, then just a bad situation to hear your president drunk but I guess it's great symbolism for our current leadership.
