Way OT: NYC poop sitting on a train in Alabama

Submitted by Yo_Blue on

In keeping with the recent spate of OT threads, I thought this was as interesting as most.  It appears that New York has been taking advantage of cheap land in Alabama and sending trainloads of their poop there.  Someone got an injunction against the dumping (pun intended) and as a result a trainload of crap has been sitting in a rail yard for a couple months.  Locals are suffering pretty badly stating that it smells like death.

Humor is in the eye of the beholder, but poop humor is universally funny (unless you live in Alabama).

I'll venture there. Notice how the quoted local reflexively points the finger at New York. I don't have all the details here, but considering Deep South culture and the history of the area, it seems at least equally likely that the 'Bama proletariat was sold out by the local aristocracy. It has long been the case down there.

Recruits take notice, NYC (the largest city in the US and financial capitol of the world) thinks all Alabama is good for is storing poop.

Come to Michigan!

I suppose the only viable solution is for someone to inflate the real estate values in Alabama, but being that it is Alabama, I have no idea what would make the state sufficiently attractive to get them into the Manhattan tier of land values so that they are not a viable option for cheap places to quite literally dump shit.
