but every team has bad contracts. it just takes the right tinkering. Hell, SVG turned over practically the entire roster in 24 months. They could find takers for Jackson and Drummond fairly easily.
The Pistons need a coach who can actually develop talent in the worst way. Beilein will be retired either way by 70 and may want a shot at the brass ring for his finale. He wouldn't even have to move. NBA players are independent, but they also recognize and respect coaching ability. Honestly, I can't think of a reason for this not to happen (assuming Michigan can find a competent successor).
he has succeeded at literally every other level of coaching. If you presume he's 3-4 years away from retirement anyway, why not take the ultimate shot?
