2 minutes of JJ throwing at pro day
Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Glad we had him here...sad to see him go.
This tape is moving JJ up to 2nd pick in the draft!
Also, need a higher roof for some of those passes!
What is this “tape” of which you speak?!
I miss you, JJ.
It was obvious that he was special when he would come in for the other guy during his freshman year. He is going to surprise some people and make rival fans eat their words.
Dang wish he had a trash defense and suspect running game so he couldve put up crazy stats and go number one overall. On second thought, cancel that, he is right where he needs to be! Going to miss that QB big time! Love someone awhile back comparing him to Steve Young. The character matches up pretty well too.
Harbaugh's prediction that JJ goes #1 is starting to look realistic. Reports were that Caleb Williams did not look good. Although that puts him the same division as the Lions. The Commanders suck, hope he doesn't go there. There would be a certain symmetry if he went to the Patriots.
Also love that brand on his workout gear. He'll do well with that.
JJ is a polarizing prospect. Some think he can go top ten. Others think second round.
The good thing is not everyone has to agree that he’s good. Only one team :)
I don't think if you mean "should" (as in, should go top ten, or should go second round), but I'm not sure anyone with any credibility thinks he will go second round.

NFL doesn’t see him as an elite prospect.
So NFL GM’s contribute to that website? Doesn’t matter what some reporter who only loves stories, clicks and hype thinks. Only takes one GM and my guess is he doesn’t make it past 11 as a floor. Most likely going before 6 and could go 3.
Same dude has JJ to Denver at #9: https://www.nfl.com/news/lance-zierlein-2024-nfl-mock-draft-2-0-broncos-move-up-for-j-j-mccarthy-chiefs-add-xavier-worthy
It's been funny watching these pundits throw a tantrum while moving JJ higher and higher in their stupid mock drafts.
That is not a mock draft so that doesn't really disprove the point that everyone now believes he's going in the first round, probably top half.
He is getting drafted in the top 10, pretty sure someone thinks he’s elite.
Where he is drafted really doesn't matter much because the NFL's success rate in evaluating quarterbacks is not very high. Obviously, the GOAT was drafted in the sixth round and Mr. Irrelevant was a quarterback in the super bowl, so what seems to matter most is luck in the right system. Look how many first round quarterbacks fail. How many superstars do you see drafted in the first round in 2021?
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars, No. 1 overall pick.
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears, No. 11 overall pick.
Mac Jones, New England Patriots, No. 15 overall pick.
Zach Wilson, New York Jets, No. 2 overall pick.
Trey Lance, San Francisco 49'ers, No. 3 overall pick.
And how many in the NFL saw Sam LaPorta as an elite prospect last year?
Well, actually everyone thought LaPorta was a top tier TE. He was ranked as a top-3 TE prospect, top 50 pick.
Did he exceed expectations? Absolutely!
That evaluation is a bit dated. The latest McCarthy will go is 12th, and especially after how well he threw today, he could make it into the top four overall. If he did, and QBs go 1-4, that leaves Marvin Harrison Jr. available for his old coach at #5.
That prospect grade takes into account college performance. His relatively lackluster stats pull down his grade.
I haven't seen a credible mock draft in weeks that had him go after #12.
I assume we were supposed to wade through all the things that said JJ was going first round and focus on the bit that had some random B/R scout give him a 2nd round grade?
Because they wrote this:
In B/R's most recent mock draft, McCarthy was predicted to be selected with the No. 8 pick by the Atlanta Falcons
So they're saying first round. Also, Atlanta signed Kirk on March 13th, but they published something on March 17 that said Atlanta was drafting JJ at 8? I think the content there is quite out of date. But keep trying!
Not any more. Top 12 or higher.
Second round is just silly.
He's a unanimous 1st rounder between 5-12. Good chance Minnesota moves up to get JJ.
There’s a real chance the Vikings or Giants could trade up to #4 to take him.
Or Pats take him at 3.
Or Commandos at 2?!
I believe JJ doesn't last past 4. Cards have already said they're open for business.
And I don't believe Harbaugh takes MHJr at 5 either. He's trading back or taking OT.
Literally no one says second round. I’ve seen him mocked as high as three and as low as 12 but nobody has him day two.
Sean Payton would run to the podium if JJ somehow fell to Denver at 12.
NO ONE who doesn't poop in their cooler or burn couches just to watch em burn thinks JJ is going to last til the 2nd round!
The Commanders are in a better position roster-wise than the Patriots.
I had not heard that (he didn’t have a great workout) about Caleb Williams. If so, it becomes an interesting situation for the Bears.
And, one characteristic not often discussed is “footwork”.
He’s basically Kyler Murray which is decent don’t know if it’s #1 overall but that kids a good enough QB.
Honestly the bears are in a terrible position, kind of, well to the point of they have to draft Williams. Starting the year he was supposed to be generational. he is still mostly deemed the best QB in the draft. They can’t really pass even if they don’t want to draft him
The Bears could swap with D.C. for some extra picks. Commandos get DMV native Caleb, Bears get Chicagoland native JJ.
Win-Win!

Like Bryce Young over CJ Stroud?
You can say that again!
Well, I'm impressed. I wish I owned an NFL team so I could draft him.
I wish I owned an nfl team for many other reasons.
That’s a National Championship winning QB. Maybe people in the NFL don’t mention this enough.
Well so was Mac Jones, no?
Holy shit, those deep balls were right on target.
I know we won the "natty," but man it would've been nice to see more of that from JJ in a Michigan uniform.
Winning is the top priority, but it's fun to see some basketball on grass from time to time, too.
Not knocking JJ by any means, but the receiver would be able to speed up/slow down or adjust according to the throw with no defender there. I mean he is tossing balls from the opposing almost 35 on some of them so he’s obviously got the arm strength (if that was a question of him ever).
I think Coach Harbaugh's prediction on JJ just might come true.
Kid looked great in that clip. Too handsome to lose.
Pffft, I could do that in my sleep!
He looks way thicker/sturdier than the beanpole I think of in a Michigan uniform.
Wow!!!
Dimes dimes dimes
I'd draft him before Caleb Williams. But that's why I'm sitting here with nothing better to do than comment on MGoBlog with basketball on in the background.
