Overall, I love the look;…

Overall, I love the look; especially the home jerseys. The classic look and the nod to the true “Honolulu Blue” is great.

I do have a couple of issues.
1. The word mark on the away Jersey is not necessary. I am very opposed to home and away jerseys not being identical other than the colors (I’ve always been against the sleeve stripes on our White jerseys and the numbers being on the shoulder instead of the arm).

2. Black Jersey is sharp. Blue helmet looks great with it. I just would have liked the logo to be white instead of black.

One down. Now lets get Davis, Wolf, one of the Auburn PGs, and then we will be rolling and can fill out the rest.

Seth always loved him. I…

Seth always loved him. I thought he was a good blitzer (a tier below Barrett level) and a pretty good thumper when filling the gap and getting into his run fit. He did struggle at times ID-ing things. He was the culprit on a couple of those long KW-III runs vs MSU in 2021. I wouldn't hold the Georgia game against him as he had to come in because Colson was lost beyond identification that game.

If the players and coaches want him back, I think they're earned that benefit of the doubt. Having him, Rolder, and Hood as your 3 backup LBs is a pretty good position to be in. Especially with the chance that both starters could be gone after this season.

One other player in a…

One other player in a similar mold that I am pulling for big time this season is TJ Guy. He has shown now in small sample sizes for the last 3 years that he is a player. However he was buried behind the likes of Hutch, Ojabo, Morris, McGregor, Harrell, Stewart, and Moore.

In today’s college football what players who have shown that they can be a player, stick around for 3 years to wait their time and embrace the program. It’s stuff like that as to why we have had the 3 year run that we’ve had. We truly are different.

In re: to CS: I am pretty…

In re: to CS: I am pretty convinced based on the people I have spoken too who aren't directly "in the know" but are close to people who are is that no one of importance knew what he was doing. The thing is, all of these young graduate assistants are a dime a dozen and they all have to do something to get a leg up on their competition. Stallions was the GA/Analyst who was good at reading signals. A lot of people can do that, but that was what he seemed gung-ho about. Did he go and present his vast network theory to a position coach, or Minter, or even Harbaugh? Highly doubtful. He may have said "yeah I'm really good at this and I have a way to be the best at it." And whoever he said that to probably was like "okay." And then forgot the name of the person who even said that.

Same thing goes for probably the PI firm. Did Day go out on his own and hire a PI firm? Doubtful. Did some eager guy maybe mention to someone lower-level that "hey I have a scoop on Michigan and why they beat us and it wasn't because they ran the ball nearly every play in the second half of 2021." The staffer he told this to probably said "oh yeah, look into that." Perhaps it works it's way up the chain to Day and he goes "well if there is any teeth to that let me know."

As far as the Weiss situation, I won't confirm but I am definitely not denying the well-regarded theory about what he was doing on the computer and what he was looking for. There was not a good relationship prior with him and the individual he was allegedly trying to catch tampering.

I have no idea what happened with Mike Hart, but I can imagine whatever it is, it probably is hurting him more than anyone else. I hope whatever his future looks like it is fruitful and filled with joy; whether it is on the field or not. I hope it was not anything that will keep him from coming back and being honored like he deserves.

And sadly in a lot of these games, the Big Ten team is overmatched right from the tip. Which of the 8 had even a chance in their games? 2015 Wisconsin, 2013 Michigan, 2005 Illinois.

From the start, 2024 Purdue, 2018 Michigan, 2009 MSU, and 2007 OSU didn’t stand much of a chance.

We lost to who I believe to be the best college basketball team since 1990 UNLV when we lost to Nova in 2018.

For some reason, I can’t seem to find anything about losing the 2013 game, but I know we were in the NCG 🤔

One of my sons was born the night/early morning before the game. My wife was able to have some great pictures of us in the hospital and me holding him with the game in the background. I think it was foreshadowing for the next two years in football vs OSU.

I always liked T-Will. He…

I always liked T-Will. He frustrated the heck out of me these last two years, but he was asked to do more than I think his right role ideally would have been. In 2021 he was the perfect garbage man off the bench for a couple minutes and would hustle, rebound, and play D. He had two very important tip-ins vs LSU in the 2nd round of 2021 when LSU was starting to stretch a lead. In 2022 he had a great game at OSU without Hunter that helped us secure a bid.

Best of luck kid. Degree in hand, B1G champ, played in two tournaments and was one of the few this year whose effort never seemed to wane .

It’s interesting looking back on the “violations” that pretty much black-balled him for years and cratered IU basketball for half a decade were…quite minor in what we view as violations today.

I always liked Jay Wright and ‘Nova. They were always my “second team” all the way back to the Kyle Lowry/Allen Ray/Randy Foye days. They messed up a ton of brackets for me when they as a program never made it over the hump, but I was always pulling for them.

Losing in 2018 to (what turns out to be one of the best teams of all time) felt a lot less painful than losing to Pitino in 2013.

I would love for a Beilein…

I would love for a Beilein-era docuseries. Going back to when he took over the program, and had the “Beilein Ball”. Moving to our first tournament appearance in a decade with Manny and DeShawn. Transitioning to the Burke/fresh-5 class of 2012-14. The dip in 15-16. The resurgence led by Derrick Walton (plans crash and all). Leading to his defensive minded pivot with staff changes, and ultimately why he left for the NBA.

2011-2019 basketball really saved our fandom with what went on in a lot of those years with the football program.

THE MADNESS IS REAL!

THE MADNESS IS REAL!

Despite the entire landscape…

Despite the entire landscape of college basketball being gutted by the transfer portal, 1-year “not here to play school” rentals, and everything else…on a pure entertainment level: nothing beats March Madness.

I was the guy in my younger years who watched every “Big Monday” or “Super Tuesday” games along with all Michigan games. I no longer am that guy (Middle aged father of 3 does that). But despite all of that and no personal investment, here I am watching Creighton v. Oregon after midnight on the edge of my seat.

This Boo Buie kid looks…

This Boo Buie kid looks pretty good. Shocked this is the first time I’ve ever seen or heard of him!

The point about "so many…

The point about "so many great plays" is so true. There were a handful of really "WOW" plays that occurred in our mid-season blowing out of B1G opponents that are easily forgotten about because they occurred in games we won by 40+. JJ's throws to Loveland vs MSU. Roman Wilson's insane catch on the back of a Nebraska defender. Will's genius baiting for a pick-6 vs Minnesota. Semaj jitterbug vs Indiana; just to name a few.

I would have to say Graham's…

I would have to say Graham's too because of the situation and sheer WOW factor of him knifing through and making that play.

The one play that isn't talked about enough, and what I believe actually was the biggest tackle of the season was Rod Moore's tackle on Milroe's long run in OT. I'd say at least 75% of safeties miss that tackle and Milroe walks in for a TD.

Not going to lie, if we knew…

Not going to lie, if we knew we would have a QB who could produce at McCord's 2023 level on our roster for next season, I would seriously think back to back would be a strong possibility.

Lasted 3 Scaramucci's.

Lasted 3 Scaramucci's.

Don't forget the possibility…

Don't forget the possibility (according to some wishcasters) that Orji will be the first QB taken in 2025.

May have been a foregone…

May have been a foregone conclusion no matter what happened with Howard.

He'll be at the top of the portal rankings I would assume. High-major college PG with 2 years of starter experience and probably not a flight risk after one year? I'm sure a lot of programs will be lining up for his services.

Dug most likely will now be given more NIL money and the threat of academic suspension will be non-existent. Pretty much a no-brainer on his end.

I remember reading reports…

I remember reading reports that he was the fastest player on the team. Good luck to wherever the road leads him next! Just remember that you will always be known, simply known as a "national champion"

QB will not be settled in…

QB will not be settled in the spring, but we will at least have a good guess if it is a 2 or 3 man race.

Tuttle offers the steadiest hand of the group but his floor and ceiling basically are the same: that's 2021 Cade with probably a little bit more mobility.

Denegal probably offers similar, but if he shows the same or a bit more as a passer, I think he could jump Tuttle.

Orji is the highest ceiling by a long shot but also the lowest floor. I would imagine the staff is hoping for him to be the guy, but what worries me is the same thing that worried me with Milton: accuracy. We haven't had the chance to see it at the college level aside from spring games, so there is hope. I just am always wary of a QB who was not a super accurate passer in HS suddenly "getting it" in college.

The starter most likely won't be announced until probably the week of the Fresno St game. I do think they need to be sold on a guy by then. With Texas being Week 2, they can't have a 2022-style in-season competition.

The safe bet right now is Tuttle. The sleeper is Denegal. And the hope is Orji. I wouldn't put any real stock/hope in a transfer coming in after Spring Ball. The only plausible possibilities would be a high level guy like Milroe or Manning which I put the chances of that at <1%.

Granted it is Moore's team…

Granted it is Moore's team now and he was running Harbaugh's team on short notice in Happy Valley, but this was a guy who did not go YOLO with a possible Top-5 pick at QB; actually did the complete offense. Highly doubtful he goes that route with any QB next year

I would have to say that one…

I would have to say that one win that accounted for 12.5% of our season total was worth way more than that!

And on another note, I’ll…

And on another note, I’ll semi thread-jack to give a shout out to another group of champions. My wife’s alma mater, Lincoln High School in Warren, MI became the first public school from the city of Warren to win a basketball state championship today.

As a product of South Warren (though attended HS on the north side) I am so proud for my hometown and community that has had a lot of struggles and it has been decimated in a lot of ways; but the community has been lifted and rallied around this team.

So hey, my mgowife and I both have alma maters as the best of the best in their sports this year so we’re happy in the Q house for a while!

Who even is the “next guy(s)…

Who even is the “next guy(s) up” for 2025? For the last few years (exception of 2022 draft) we have basically known who will be the #1 pick in the next draft already. We all knew Lawrence would go #1 a year prior, same for Bryce Young or Stroud in 2023, and Williams in 2024.

I can’t even think of who it may be? Is it really Sheduer Sanders as the clear cut top QB for next years draft?
