Seems like someone is mad that Michigan is recruiting Ohio well...

This tweet is also weird timing since it was recently reported that Harbaugh turned down the Broncos job. Maybe Marrow should worry more about putting literally a single one of his player in the NFL

Dude, if the CEO of a company that size wanted to meet with me about something I didn't want, I would respectfully meet with him to hear him out and respectfully decline. Despite what some folks have said, it appears that Jim knows enough not to burn his bridges (well, at least not this one).

Your personal experience is meaningless. That isn't how any of this works. Its all back channel conversations. If Harbaugh had no interest in the Denver job his intermediary would have told the Broncos thanks but no thanks and no bridges would have been burned. In fact having a meaningless meeting after having your intermediary express interest so that you can use the meeting as a tactic to get a better contract would be a much faster way to burn that bridge.

He wants back in the NFL. Maybe he would only take the Denver job if they gave him full control over personnel decisions or something else extreme like that but every single move he has made for the last two years indicates that he would prefer to be in the NFL over college. Its really that simple.

Reportedly? Lol. A week or so ago, it was reported Jim Harbaugh called the Broncos and withdrew his name from consideration. Did that stop the Broncos from pursuing him? No. And did that stop Jim Harbaugh from meeting with Broncos owners this past week in Ann Arbor? No. All the recent reports have said is Jim turned down whatever offer the Broncos brought with them to the Ann Arbor meeting. But this ain't over until Jim Harbaugh signs an extension with Michigan. The only remaining question is: who wants Jim Harbaugh more, Michigan or the Broncos? From the outside, it seems the Broncos are working hard to convince Jim they truly want him. Michigan? Not so much.

you offered the caveat "from the outside"...does this mean you then acknowledge that there are communications happening that we're not privy to, and that it's entirely possible that this "from the outside" perspective is more reflective of one side of this situation than it is another given that one of the sides is putting almost nothing out into the public eye right now?

just because Santa/Warde aren't putting love letters to Harbaugh on the front page of MLive and DetNews doesn't mean Michigan isn't working hard to keep him.  The fact that he turned down the broncos (twice) and announced he's coaching Michigan next season tells me that whatever Michigan is doing is at least enough...

I have heard that he was a pretty good recruiter but i can't remember when the last time Kentucky won anything or was close to winning anything significant in football. These guys negative recruit us all the time. Michigan is a world class institution and people understand what that means, even if he doesn't understand that or if he doesn't understand that its the recruit's decision when its said and done. They need to concentrate on themselves. It could make the difference between Kentucky winning another game or two.

Yeah, exactly, it's Kentucky football. It's roughly analogous to Indiana football in the Big Ten, but worse. They went 75 years without a win over Alabama. It is weird how irrelevant Kentucky football is in the SEC, although you might have a hard time convincing Kentucky fans of that.

Yeah, bad parenting to let kids go to a school that's winning conference championships, making the playoffs, developing players and putting them in the NFL, and has a money cannon available.

He’s losing Ohio guys he used to get to Harbaugh now and with Cincy moving up to the power 5 soon it’s going to be even tougher for Kentucky. Marrow made his living recruiting 3 stars out of Ohio. He was having a lot of success with Dantonio gone from MSU.

Now Michigan is back to hitting Ohio hard and pulling guys that Marrow usually would have. Cincy is also pulling in a lot of his 1b options after Michigan pulls his 1a. He also had some success recruiting Michigan. Tucker has done a good job shutting that down so he’s having a really rough time pulling anyone significant. The couple of big time guys he recruited from Ohio/Michigan are all transferring away to other schools. He’s losing everywhere.

Also he had a job offer from Harbaugh back before Moore was hired and had a chance to come to U of M. He essentially told Harbaugh he was happy and Kentucky would be better than U of M in a few years. Those few years have gone and come and Kentucky had their best run in a long time. And what do they have to show for it? They’re on a downward trend now.

Morrow has always been one of the biggest negative recruiters and it’s killing him now north of Lexington.  He went hard to Indiana, Ohio and Michigan and would pull about 3 - 5 recruits a year and now that’s gone or at leas the quality he was able to get.

Add to that, almost none of the recruits he ever pulled amounted to anything or were developed at UK, very few in the entire program developed.  UK is not a program you go to if you have nfl aspirations.

I don’t get it, parents are still letting their kids go to a school that got their ass kicked by Iowa. Dude, Iowa’s offense outscored you, and they were outscored by their own defense.

Music City Bowl-ass program. I hope PJ Fleck stomps your ass in some random Southern city next Dec. 28.

He used UM having interest in him (maybe he even interviewed I don't remember) for their open TE coaching position to get a big raise out of UK. He was supposedly a great recruiter but it's looking more and more like he was riding Clinkscale's coattails in recruiting. So yeah, he's salty.

So many reasons that is a dumb statement.

1. Obviously, the classness of it.

2. You could make a similar statement about 80%+ coaches, or heck, any ordinary worker. Most people would leave there current job for a better one or one they've always desired.

3. Maybe the coach isn't as important as the school & program to a lot of kids?

4. NIL money is also likely becoming as important as the coach.

5. A player can now easily transfer if a coach leaves.

Hopefully this clears things up for Coach Marrow.
