Big 12 Championship Game Open Thread
This should be interesting. Both Oklahoma and Ohio State have to go for extreme style points.
But there is a risk if they press too much that they make mistakes and make matters worse.
If these games are close in the 4th quarter, there could be a meltdown.

Sooners win this. Georgia loses. No chance for OSU

Watching on the ESPN app...smooth as M-Dog's fur no issues here

So far looks like OU is getting the ball out pretty quick. Even on deep balls. Opposite of our slow developing vpassing games
also check downs / swing passes

Now they want to play defense???
December 1st, 2018 at 12:54 PM ^
Don't think we can talk about B12 bad defenses after our showing last week (to the poster above)
OKs offense looks light years ahead of ours.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:00 PM ^
Agreed. Easy to have strong looking defenses vs weak run first offenses in B1G
we’d still have good D in B12 but would probably give up 30+ to several teams in that conf
December 1st, 2018 at 1:06 PM ^
Really? I mean really?
Oklahoma's defense is pathetic and has been for years now. This year it's reached new lows.
Michigan had a bad game where they got outgunned.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:16 PM ^
I’m not saying UM D = OU.
just that UM got exposed vs only good O they played. Lots more Os like OSU in B12.
UM D would get wrecked by OU, Okie State, WVU to name a few.
We wouldn’t have same stats we had playing MSU, Wisc, NW
December 1st, 2018 at 1:24 PM ^
Did we really have just a "bad game", or were we feasting on piss-poor Big Ten offenses that masked some of our issues?
We like to make fun of the Big 12 for not playing good defense, but maybe the real story is that the Big Ten does not play good offense.
We would get torched by some of these Big 12 offenses.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:04 PM ^
We really need to up the ante on offense
December 1st, 2018 at 1:08 PM ^
Bigly.
Team after team is showing us what needs to be done.

I like what Texas is doing. They know they need to keep pace with Oklahoma, so they are playing offense aggressively.
They are not sitting back and trying to play ball control while OU scores a quick 21 points.
There is a lesson to be learned there . . .

Not even close to a catch

Good call M dog...
December 1st, 2018 at 1:19 PM ^
So far ...looking good for Osu. For all those that were happy the Maryland QB couldn't complete a 10 foot pass for the win...
December 1st, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
Shea could do a lot of what Murray does if we would let him.
So could Dylan.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:36 PM ^
Was thinking the same thing..
we have got to open up that passing game.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:39 PM ^
Watching the game and came to this thread because I knew others would notice this too. Watching these offenses and I'm thinking, why can't we look more like this?
December 1st, 2018 at 1:41 PM ^
The truth is . . . we could.
Bad offense is a choice.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:28 PM ^
Y'all do realize that the planets always align for osu, right? If you're one of the poor souls thinking that everything will happen the way it should today and keep osu out of the playoff...well...I'm sorry...
December 1st, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^
Sure does seem like Osu always gets the breaks. But at least it gives the games today, teams to root for/against ...since Mich is sitting home again as usual.
Notice how OK kicked the extra point in first half...
December 1st, 2018 at 1:37 PM ^
Texas uses their TE/FB guy more creatively.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:43 PM ^
Was just thinking the same thing...need a change for the future real soon.
December 1st, 2018 at 1:44 PM ^
Why would Oklahoma or anyone allow a team to give their punter more room.
I would always decline that penalty.
December 1st, 2018 at 2:26 PM ^
Well it depends. Scout the punter, see if he has a range of deficiency, and play that as opportunities arise. If you don’t want to do that or have the knowledge to do that, the yes, always decline.

That scoring drive by OU shows what is wrong with Harbaugh/Pep body blows offense.
It is just not possible to stop the best offenses.
All you can do is get a number of key stops over the course of a game.
So you have to have an offense that can keep up.
The teams that make, of even just miss, the playoffs now have offenses that can score a lot against even very good Ds.
Not all have offenses are as good as OU or OSU. But all the team that make the playoffs have offenses that are far more explosive than what Pep/JH did this year.
No one is going to make the playoff with a 'body blows' offense.
December 1st, 2018 at 2:12 PM ^
Can only hope that the blow out by OSU showed Harbaugh that he’s got to make changes. Need to be able to win a shootout if needed.
He’s probably going to need to sell a passing attack to get Shea to return as well.
I’m confident D Brown will adapt. Has all new corners to start fresh with a sprinkle some zone

I assume if our coaches are watching this game, they are wondering why Oklahoma, with 90 seconds left and needing to march 80 yards down the field at the end of the half to score, is not huddling and getting plays off with about five seconds left on the play clock.
December 1st, 2018 at 2:00 PM ^
Coaches are out recruiting. The recruits are probably saying, coach why would I go to UM when I can go to a place like OU and play in a wide open offense?
December 1st, 2018 at 1:57 PM ^
Texas blew the end of the first half. Could have ran it twice from 2nd and 25 and only left Oklahoma with 20 seconds to drive the field.
December 1st, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
Yeah that was terrible game management and most likely cost them the game.
December 1st, 2018 at 2:05 PM ^
We were down multiple scores at ND & Osu going into 4th. Still huddling, walking to the line - then running into a stacked box half the time to kill even more clock. How does a coach with 40 years football experience allow that to happen?
Play sand lot for fucks sake & just tell the receivers to get open - if they don't know how to do hurry up.

Murray is lucky he ducked or he would have become part of the turf
December 1st, 2018 at 2:40 PM ^
Why do they always refer to him as little Jordan Humphrey?
Edit: guess his name is Lil’Jordan Humphrey.
