People need to remember this is one game. Candidates who are/were on our board are because of their whole body of work, their whole resume not what they do in this week or two. I still think Dusty would be a good pick. If I’m not mistaken he could bring some of these players with him potentially which would make the rebuild obviously go smoother. One game’s performance should not overshadow the whole body of work.
I think any of the four names at the end of the piece seem reasonable. Nobody is a slam dunk but they all have their pros and should be given a couple of years to get their system in place. I’d also add the WSU coach who has coached at a high major school and found success by developing diamonds in the rough.
Don’t forget just making the tournament would be a big step at this point. There are 68 teams that get in the field. You don’t have to be the best coach in the world to get to 19-12 which generally will be good enough to get a bid. Get a coach with a system, recruit and develop said players, improve the culture, and hopefully profit over the mid to long term.
Dylan has an article on this at umhoops but I’d be down for Porter Moser. He has a lot of ties to the Midwest and may want to come back to the region and had a lot of success with Loyola. He’s still relatively young and looks like he’ll make the tourney this year with Oklahoma so also had some high major experience. We basically need somebody who’s not afraid of building from the ground up. His style reminds me of Beilein a little bit.
So difficult to concentrate. Our team gives no f**ks they are going to give it their all and lay it all on the line. Washington is good. This will be a battle. Unless we do to them what Dante Divencenzo did to us in the 'Ship in 2018.
I get we’re not on the team and it doesn’t matter for us not to take this team lightly. But the team can’t take Washington lightly. We were supposed to beat TCU last year and because of sloppiness didn’t. This needs to be like that scene in Major Paine when the rag tag group of cadets tries to steal the trophy instead of earning it and get their butts kicked. We need to beat Washington’s head in this game and play a clean game. If we don’t turn the ball over and if we clean up special teams think we are the better team this year. Will still be tough and will need to force field goals as they’ll likely move the ball between the 20s but this is doable. The team just has to be uber-focused which I believe they will be given they are 60 minutes away from immortality.
It could be a classic but I hope we go full Nova on them like was done to us in the basketball championship where the Italian just gave us the business that night.
They face really good offenses week in and week out. Helps explain some of it. Though that is more than a standard deviation below average so there’s that.

First game of the year and knew that third period was special. Complete domination until the final five minutes when NDak started to turn it on.
Beat State.
If we hang on our goalie in the mvp
When do they pull goalie?
edit: shoot protect the goal.
Impressive
The best defense is a good offense
What a third period
Wooooo
Think we need a power play. If we get one I think we get the score.
Much more intensity right now.
Probably lucky to be down 1 right now. Need to sharpen up.

My friend said it was a blown thing by ESPN the timeouts were called by Bama.
Basically it was a graphics issue.

That seems pretty low. I feel like we’re going to need to score at least 35 maybe more to win. Our defense is good but Washington’s Offense is legit.
Dare I say a Jackhammer
