2019 Verbal Commit, QB Cade McNamara, Considered "Best Guy There" at Elite 11 Qualifier Camp
Cade McNamara had a good showing at the camp. This is what he had to say:
"The [Student Sports staff] pulled me aside halfway through and told me I was the best guy there....."
He's currently rated a 4 Star, and the #258 2019 prosect. I am certain his rank is going to rise, probably to the Top 150, by summer's end, maybe even the Top 100.
He has an impressive offer sheet, including Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame (he decommitted from Notre Dame just before committing to Michigan), USC, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. I'm sure that not only is that list going to grow, but the intensity to get him to flip away from Michigan will grow too.

his lower ranking is due to his measurables. 6'1 180lbs doesnt give the scouts a star gazing hard on. His film definitely looks better than #258. Hopefully he can be Drew Brees 2.0
is a great story to start off a Friday! Can't wait to see him don the Maize and Blue someday!
One of the things I found most impressive about his tape is his ability to sense pressure, move around in the pocket, and get the ball out before the pressure got to him. So many highlight reels, the QB is making precision passes, but they are able to stand like a statue behind their OL. He is moving within the pocket and, if necessary, extending plays outside of the pocket. Most importantly, even when he's be flushed out of the pocket he is keeping his eyes downfield and finding an open man to move the chains.
I noticed from his game tape that his HS O line was terrible. The pocket would collapse almost immediately and he would still make plays with his feet, IQ and quick release. Give this kid a decent OL and he can be really good
Until we see the O Line or schemes vastly improve I won't be getting excited about any QB prospect unless he comes with two tackle prospects attached at the hip.
He knows how to play with pressure in his face.
His pocket collapses almost immediately and he still makes plays
The only thing that matters to 50% of Michigan fans is the last bad thing that happened.
Interesting that our source of him being the best guy there is Cade himself. Even with that caveat, this is all very nice information.
Get Quarterbacks, get all of them! Brady Hoke left the cupboard completely empty at QB, takes a while to restock and that's just what Harbaugh is doing, one more exciting and promising than the last.
Take a look at this list of Elite 11 winners. The majority of them didn't amount to anything and didn't perform well in college. So winning the Elite 11 isn't that great

No offense, but I want 4/5 star line men. The type that push lines back making everyone better.
we have that now
Obviously very good programs thought McNamara was good, because they offered him before this camp took place. I do see some very good programs in the list.
But still, some will complain he's not good enough, it's just a "qualifier camp", it's not real football, Harbaugh can't recruit, nothing good has happned for Michigan in a long time, we always get a rock for Halloween like Charlie Brown, etc, etc, etc.
