Justice Hayes to Southern Miss
Former Michigan RB Justice Hayes heading to Southern Miss as graduate transfer http://t.co/HwewqU8g5n

Best Wishes to him and hope he has a great final year.
lets get Favre and his real comfortable jeans...
I think his initial projection in his hello post alluded to something like that. Hence, he was always my Norfleet in that if we could just get him some space he could do some things. Like Norfleet, that never happened.
When he committed to ND, he was going to be a slot for them. So yeah, he was always projected to be more of a scat back/3rd down back type (he even played slot for a bit at Michigan, albeit very briefly).

This is the transfer I most wish didn't happen. I really thought he was in the mix for significant carries in 2015. Good luck to him hopefully he becomes the feature back there.
I actually thought he deserved more PT this past year. He actually looked like he knew what he was doing out there.
He was running pretty hard last year.
I liked Justice and think he was/is a good kid, but this transfer doesn't hurt as much as the Countess transfer or Jack Miller's retirement...
Best of luck, but man... I'm not sure Southern Mississippi is where I'd want to spend my final year of college!
Big tornadoes down there.
but, yeah... ever

Well considering the drop in level of competition he's going to face, that's very possible
Our best pass defending RB, but other than that he wasn't going to see much action. I think JH offered him to stay back in January but he had his mind made up then. Best of luck to Justice!
I hope all the grad transfers have their year of glory as seniors. But I also hope Michigan does well enough this year to make them all wonder what it would have been like to stay.
Solid answer.
Our transferring players from the Hoke era are finding far more prestigious landing spots than the Hoke-era coaches. Except for, far and away, the best of those coaches, of course.

Correct.
Southern Miss has been a complete dumpster fire the past three seasons so hopefully Justice can be part of a revival in Hattiesburg.
I think he made the right call to leave. But it lcontinues a long streak of players that just never panned out for Michigan.
Can't wait to bitch next April when he's getting drafted and finding a solid role in the NFL.
Yes, they are going to start the Mississippi and Alabama chapters of #Eating, continuing Michigan's dominance of cool charities in the deep south.
But I do wish he had stayed here for his 5th year. I'm a little nervous about our depth and having an experienced guy who can block would have been a real asset. There's no guarantee Drake Johnson will fully recover from his 2nd knee operation, plus you could get injuries at some point. I like Higdon a lot, but he'll only be a freshman and would probably benefit most by redshirting. We'll probably be fine though if Harbaugh utilizes the H-back and fullback formations more since we have a bunch of guys there with some experience.
Gee willickers! Best of luck to him! By golly I hope he does well!!!
I will wish him the best and not envy any of his upcoming summer weather or living conditions. That is the SOUTH in every possible way (including better and worse).
Not sure why a kid from Grand Blanc decides to go to Southern Miss for one year. Why not stay in the midwest and tear up the MAC?
I don't buy that. If he stayed, he would have "something new" at the place he "raved about." He wants playing time. This is college free agency.
I don't see the two sides (wanting playing time vs. raving about Michigan etc.) as mutually exclusive at all. Makes sense to me.
I have this sneaky suspicion that Auburn and Southern Miss are going to have great seasons. Will be sort of weird to root for them, and see Countess and Hayes in southern uniforms.
Good luck to him.
