I heard that about many a Beilein guard that turned out pretty good. Maybe some development and PT leads to improvement.

I’m all for some players out of the portal but I’d like to see some guards recruited out of high school.

Maybe he could help scouting high school guards that aren’t undersized.

The wants and needs should begin and end with guards and wings with perimeter skills. We are sorely lacking both. I do not really see a viable path to fixing this problem to the degree that the team is competitive next year.

The perimeter play is just atrocious. No one that can defend on the perimeter, no one, other than Dug, that can handle the ball or create shots. Juwan, you need guards man.

How is not playing going to help? Things can’t really get any worse.

The good thing is we haven’t played the president all year. It’s not like we’ll still have a desperate need for guards next year and could use him.

JJ is an elite QB and anyone who thinks otherwise is a poo poo dummy but it was super smart that we barely let him throw the ball because he would have definitely thrown interceptions or fumbled while being sacked.

Admissions, the NCAA, nor NIL are keeping Howard from recruiting guards outside of a single undersized PG a year. The same type of guards that Beilein scouted, recruited, got admitted, and built his teams around are still available and I doubt they’re receiving fat stacks of NIL cash.

Someone who will build the roster around guards rather than tweener fours with below average perimeter skills.

You want him guarding someone on the perimeter?

It won’t have weird vibes around it at all since no one in the NFL would draft JJ in that scenario.

Thats the going rate for a coach at an elite school who has taken said school to the playoffs. If Texas wouldn’t have paid him that, someone else would have.

Barely playing Collins and Bufkin as freshman so we could get 36 minutes a game of Jones and Brooks, who were both leaving, was when I knew we were in trouble. It left us with only a half a good season from Kobe and a criminal lack of guards since.

There are two types of rules in college football, administrative rules, let’s call them cheeseburger rules, and financial rules, let’s call them prime rib rules. College football, like real life, punishes cheeseburger rules much more harshly than prime rib rules. This has, thus far, been backed by the courts.

Michigan chose, probably wisely, to not take a cheeseburger case to court. Tennessee, on the other hand, chose to take a prime rib case to court, probably also wisely.
