I'm bummed I'm no where near Ann Arbor as I'd love to see the folks from the Shutdown Fullcast (the internet's only college football podcast) in person.
Anyone else catch the typo in the On3 article quoted by Brian relating to the NCAA needing Congress' help? I figured the On3 reporter would know that it's Pete Finebaum, not Paul.
My mind went immediately to Hammerbarn too!! Every time I'm at a hardware store now and I have to use the little gun to zap the bar code I say to myself and/or my kids, "what's that dooting?"
Toppin would be a nice pick up. He's a very good defender and rebounder. He didn't factor a ton in UNM's offense (not sure why; maybe it's just Dick Pitino Jr's offense) but he seemed solid in the mid range and in (eye test only; haven't looked at numbers).
"Unfinished business." I seem to recall hearing that phrase a lot related to another Michigan team over the last year or two. Wonder how that turned out?
There's a Twitter alt front-end called nitter that worked so well but is hit and miss now that Twitter, the platform currently known as X, is making it super difficult for nitter. I'm usually able to get one of these two to work: nitter.poast.org/(insert twitter user name here) or nitter.privacydev.net/(insert twitter user name here).
Took a minute to math out but this #charitibundibowl spike is thanks to one of our perennial high donors jumping in early for the Wolverines this year and obliterating their own previous donation record pic.twitter.com/ey5NIw1N1r
It was pretty crazy how right after Michigan went up 2 goals on that freaking BEAUTIFUL goal (wheels, snipe, celly, Boys!!!) NoDak seemed to flip a switch and were flying around. Glad the boys held on and got the W.
David Stern was pretty dang creative with that one, wasn't he?
Random opening day memory: Tuffy Rhodes hitting 3(!) home runs for the Cubs in '94 against the Mets. Cubs lost that game (shocker, I know!) but that was pretty crazy.
Yup! Lobo fans are delusional in that they think the UNM job is a cherry (pun intended; their colors are cherry and silver) one.
But the laughs that would have come with Junior Pitino taking over Louisville would've been great and would have lasted longer than his dad did with that waitress from the Italian joint.
I was hoping that Louisville as going to hire Dick...err...Richard Pitino. It's fun to watch Lobo fans lose their minds when a successful coach leaves for greener pastures (see: Alford, Steve).
I’ve watched a lot of Mash Jr. He’s a super streaky shooter with a good pull up 2pt J. I don’t know his stats but he wasn’t great at hitting 3s. He always struck me as a bit of a chucker.
His answer in reply to a question about his most cherished memory at FAU was pretty good. He talked about how the Final Four run was amazing and great but his most cherished memory was cutting down the nets on the home court after winning the conference championship there. Reason being is his family was there, his coach's families were there...it was at home and not on the road. He got to celebrate with all the folks who helped support the program. I dig it!
Nevada had a hard time with Dayton's press. Dayton started hitting shots, including a few threes, and their D stiffened up bigly (phrasing!!!). Nevada played with one hand around their throat for the last five minutes.
I had a brief thought about Alford to replace Juwan but yeah, nope.
I like Medved too. The ball movement on CSU is fun to watch and he's getting it done with weird guys. Sounds like a recipe that could work at Michigan.
Frito pie is a big deal out here. Usually it’s a bowl with Fritos at the bottom, then topped with some combo of ground beef, beans, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and red chile. Muy delicioso. Highly recommend.
You dump all that in a bag of Fritos for portability but that’s not my preference.
I watched the last 11 mins of the game, for some reason. Michigan didn’t make field goal in the final 6 mins until a scrub made a desperation heave at the end of the game. That was rough. Thankfully this season is over.
Or maybe podcast sponsor Venue by 4M? I don't know if it'd fit the bill for a fantasy draft since I live VERY far away and have never been to Venue, but supporting a sponsor seems kewl.
Purdue won't win the B1G this season but they are making a strong push to win the Name of the Year award with the aforementioned Shitta Silla; but don't sleep on Kyndrich Breadlove nor De'Nylon Morrissette.
During the Craig Roh discussion at the end, Brian mentioned a tweet from Taylor Lewan. It's linked here so you don't have to go searching for it. Good stuff from Lewan. Roh sounds like a helluva good guy.

edited Welp! Upload an image fail on my part.
Happy May Day I guess. Or for those of us named Joseph: Happy Feast of St. Joseph the Worker Day.
I wonder if Devin Funchess has any eligibility left!
That was so damned uncomfortable to watch. He should be punished by being fired directly into the sun!

Well, looks like Tom knew when to hold'em, and when to fold'em.
A Roman walks in to a bar and says “I’ll have a martinus.”
The bartender says “you mean a martini?”
The Roman replies “no, if I wanted a double I would have asked for one.”
11+ minutes of Norm MacDonald making OJ jokes on SNL.
Nice try Dave. We all know Craig Ross has been around since 1747.
Game time: April 11, 2024 at 8:30pm eastern

Weird that Josh Schertz has an MGoBlog burner account but here we are.
Dammit Brian, you owe me a new keyboard!!
Supreme Cook!!! I wonder how he makes his scrambled eggs?
Dirty freaking dangles boys!
I was watching the game with a bunch of non hockey fans but they all recognized how ridiculous that pass was.

I'm pretty sure a guy name Lou Esposito sold me a set of white-wall tires a few years back.

I regret that I have but one up-vote to give to this.

"And speaking of Ben Franklin's sex life, we'd like to thank our sponsors..." A very professional podcast indeed!

I have to say that I'm pretty upset that Office 365 is working today.

Mullings' sideline catch during the Rose Bowl was eye opening for me.
More like "Let's Remember some Dudes," dang!
I totally forgot about Tom Zbiboxerguy.
Phew. I'm glad they meant that and not another famous running back who is famous for slashing and knifing.
I'm excite to see Cabana get some run this season!
