most folks are in the middle but the fringes figured out the candidates are determined in the primaries.

Large majorities oppose Biden and Trump.  But the more fanatic/extreme sides of each spectrum turn out in primaries.  Rs are afraid of Trump endorsing an opponent and Ds are afraid of the same from the Squad.  Sinema voted with Biden 90%+ of the time but left the party for the grief she was getting from progressives.

I spoke to him at the UM Club dinner for Brandstatter/Dierdorf retirement.

He looked 5 years younger then that the last game he coached here.

He said he loved what he was doing with the Pistons. (Senior Player Development Advisor)

He looks even better on his BTN gigs.

I believe he has. no unfulfilled ambition for the natty - he is the "anti-Harbaugh."

TICKET FOR TONIGHT!

Forgot I had UP trip scheduled so cannot use ticket I bought in the UM Club group

Gondola seating is broken up into pods in the lower sections and the club has secured enough tickets for an entire pod so everyone can view the game together (G5 to G10). Along with your seat, your ticket includes pizza, breadsticks, salad and soft drinks. As mentioned above, LCA provides bartenders (Cash Bar) in the Gondola area. lots of UM alums of all ages in the group

so you might know someone.

parking may be tough as Red Wings playing at LCA 1:00 pm

I paid $65 OBO

Harbaugh has one rationale.

Harbaugh has one rationale.

This is neither complicated nor is there any hidden agenda,

He wants the Lombardi trophy; he is offering jobs to those he believes most capable of helping him reach that goal.

Full stop.

To think he would hire someone from UM he believes is less capable just ti give him a raise?

The same for thinking his real motivation is thumbing his nose at Warde?

Utter nonsense.

God bless you on your journey and good luck with those awful health issues.

#3 Fritz Crisler retired…

#3 Fritz Crisler retired after the undefeated Mad Magicians season of 1947 saying that team spoiled him.  He felt he would never again have a team that good.

I see that feeling in Harbaugh about #144, especially in his speech last night.

Thanks.

I find the more…

Thanks.

I find the more self-aware I become, the more I see how

non-sexual physical abuse incurred as a child formed my reactions to life.

For me, LONG process, still ongoing, as one UM friend told me recently "You are still in your formative year.,"

Wayne Dyer said it is not the wake that steers the boat.

Abuse of underage males is a hidden story.  The predators know how to make the victim feel responsible and wrong and in trouble if they tell anyone.

Support groups saved, and continue to save, my life.  Therapy also helped.  Ask Donovan Edwards.

I will once again quote C.S.Lewis "Constantly looking at reality is unbearable."

Team #144 is absolutely unique and unrepeatable, teaching me, once again, we are here to serve others.  As other comments on this thread, and others over the years, life happens for all of us and this is my # rest stop.

I spent years trying to be ecstatic 24/7 doing exactly what I wanted to do.  This resulted in depression with suicidal ideation.

I had to do it to believe it but using our God given talents to help others, being of service, results in true self-esteem and, at least, occasional happiness.

You are not alone.  Your recovery can inspire others who are on the same road.

You will be find exactly what you need to get through each day - one day at a time.

God bless you on your journey!

Daughter #2, born 1991, with the equine science degree from Kentucky, was raised on UM football.

As she said, it will take a minute for this all to sink in.

When the dust settles, I will have a diary going back to the 1943 UM-Notre Dame ticket stub I got from my father, through D#2 asking me which Bowl shirt was the first I gave her?

Before the Rich Rod years (obviously), I gave each daughter the Bowl shirt for that year for Christmas.

D#2 reminds me that I would get bigger sizes for them to grow into.

Yes.  This tie to each of us has to each team breeches the time/space continuum, connecting family and the enormous Michigan extended family.

Spot on

Except, for me, the decades have passed, the hair is gray, and my body aches from the pains of age. Not to mention the cold I am fighting.

Not "off"at all.

Nothing can happen tonight to detract from my love for this team, players, coaches, staff, everyone.

First, full marks for…

First, full marks for correct use of my favorite word: quintessential

Hearing Brian on with Sam every week.  Hey, this guy really knows his stuff!

I was assigned to MC the UM club of Detroit kickoff event that year, the Monday before the opening game. Brian was one of the featured speakers.

They had been looking for UM-Ohio game stories and told him I had some.

He asked how many points I had - I did not even know what points were.

So he gave me 100 to be able to post.

Always grateful for that generosity and the MGo community.

Have been blessed to attend some events with Seth.

Just the sharpest people who are also excellent writers.

Woverine Nation has never been more connected and this is a big part of that.

Not exactly a rousing rendition.

In mine, we won easily!!!

The more I cogitate upon the…

The more I cogitate upon the massive data, the more I see the similarities between UW this year and TCU last year.

QB plays out of his mind to carry team higher than it belongs, winning one tight game after another.

A pile of close wins means one thing - you are lucky.  Nothing wrong with that but it is better to be good than lucky.

That UW is the team of Destiny?  Gag me with a spoon.

Many factors led to the Fiesta Bowl fiasco last year but one that will not repeat, which alone would have made the difference, in the opinion of this non-expert eye witness, is coaching. This year's play calling alone would have given us a W.

Yes, UW better than 2022 TCU, so I am not calling it 66 to 3.

35 to 13 Michigan.

As we are all a little (?) wonky today, I include my UK grad, horse farming daughter's take.  She was raised on UM football, having attended her first games in utero.

"That’s the race that makes me think of. I’ve felt the same way since the Bama game as I did at this moment in that race. Wise Dan knew where the wire was, and if he had a path to it, he was getting there first. From the apron at Keeneland, I could see his face and I knew. He still had good horses to beat, he’d had to go wide, but he could see the wire. No reason to have felt that confident that soon, but Wise Dan knew what the goal was. AAAAHHHHHHH ITS GAME DAY"

We will move the ball in multiple ways.

Nice post.

Having worked…

Nice post.

Having worked my way through UM and law school partly as a scalper, uh, I mean, broker, I could not figure out why a guy paid $900 for a single more than halfway through the first quarter of the game. Back in my day, you paid top dollar to make sure you got in more than a week before the game.  Now that you have seen the geography of the most beautiful place to watch a football game, it is not like the Big House, where you could drive to A2, park, run around looking for tickets, and if you could not find one at your price, walk to any number of establishments to watch the game on TV.

Posting on all your social media, word of mouth, as it were, sometimes works to find a direct seller and avoid all the ticket broker-website costs,

Life lessons from an old man…

Life lessons from an old man:  ALWAYS go for the experience.  I live outside Detroit; stayed with Daughter outside Lexington KY from Christmas to the 29th; flew from Cincinnati to LA to stay at college roommate's house.  Bought 4 tickets, acquired serendipitously.  Day before the game realized friend, D,  from Lansing in town with her daughter and son-in-law.   Gave her one ticket as I frequently travel to Lansing and stay free at her house.  Her daughter and son in law sold the 2 tickets they had to buy my other two for cost so we all sat together. D has 2 degrees from MSU but, like most Spartans, has no love for Saban.  She got sucked into the emotion of the game and Wolverine Nation.  Per the pic, she could not bear to watch the AL OT possession, in the far end zone from our seats.  I was resting my knees during the TOs.  I do not need a souvenir.  The memory of this one will linger.  Forever.  It will ebb and flow but is a touchstone of my life on this planet.  I have had season tickets since 1972.  I attended the 1969 Ohio game.  I have NEVER seen a team with this chemistry and connection with the fans, whether alums or not.  Brian wrote about it when the JJ light went on for him early on.  I was at the hoop game a year ago when Blake took the mike at halftime to say he came back for one reason.

The Natty is their destiny.
