I don’t understand how people are still confused about recruiting. The high level recruits have always predominantly gone to the highest bidder and we remain one of the lowest bidders. There is no championship bump, we’re simply the first non high bidder to win.
I'm more excited about how he operates. He seems to be smart, flexible, and always looking to learn more. He's youngish and hard working. He got his success through hard work and smarts not riding coattails and skirting the rules. It's just big Beilein vibes all around.

All jokes have a shred of truth, the shred of truth in this one is they did lose to NW which isnt exactly a B1G powerhouse and that I didn't realize how awful FAU was before he joined and preferred the other options in Brian's top 4. But the more people have dug into him the more he sounds like new Beilein and I'm excited about the hire.

Wade's problem as a coach is that he's not a coach he's a purchaser and then spectator of talent. There is no coaching involved. The fact it is now basically within the rules makes him simultaneously less shady but less effective.

All of which is to say that this season basically never happened from my point of view since I only watched 9 games (we won the exhibition). Hell I didn't even bother trying to not see the score most of this year since I always knew we were going to lose, lol.
Saban is only the GOAT in terms of cheating at football. Overall second only to Wooden in that sense. Stop fellating a guy who was only successful by buying an nfl roster, oversigning, and then fucking over the busts. Good riddance.

This is our 'everyone left' year and this is their 'everyone came back and more' year. We beat them badly twice when they had awful defenses but that got fixed last year and they were the 2nd best team we played all year. Anyone cocky about us winning next year is lying to themselves or extremely delusional. We could win, I of course hope we win, but we are rightfully underdogs.

Meanwhile OSU got all their draftable guys except 2 to come back and bought a bunch of transfers. If we win this year it'll be 10x the upset from last time we were in Columbus.
How does someone so soft mentally get so far in professional sports? Breaking a girl's leg because people giggle when she moves you in a football drill you told her to do? Soft as fuck.
As shitty as most parents are, every kid needs classes on all life skills and common sense. This keeps happening to athletes mainly because everyone is dumb and dumb with money in their early twenties. The difference is that's when athletes make the most money while for the rest of us that's when we make the least money and our salaries gradually go up continuously until we retire so as we get smarter with money we make more money instead of the opposite.
I blame schools for people not knowing what cap means and thinking 'no cap' means 'no lie' when they meant 'no limit' and turning it into a slang, yeah. Should 'bone apple tea' be the real term for bon appetit too? When I wrote 'for all intensive purposes' in a paper as a kid and got corrected to 'for all intents and purposes' did I double down on stupid and try to make it a thing? No I corrected myself.

Michigan definitely has a lot of barriers to success that aren't coach-related. However this team is far far far worse than the sum of it's parts which is a coaching failure. The roster building has also been atrocious since the start which is at least partially a coaching failure. Up until this year I was fine with sticking with Juwan as his basketball coaching I felt was good he just needed to learn how to run a program and build a roster in the most difficult era for building a roster. But now the actual basketball part sucks too so I see no upside to keeping him around. Let him go back to the NBA and focus on what he's best at.

I engage in post victory schadenfreude farming for a couple days after any given win and then I've either seen all the good stuff or it's just repetitive. It's tainted by all the conspiracy theories lately though, like it's impossible to get any enjoyment out of MSU because it's just 'the tunnel did it' or 'cheaters' repeated ad nauseum. It's harder to find good schadenfreude these days.
