You just struck a serious nerve. If you want people to stop giving a damn then you might as well shut the blog down now. Passionate (sometimes insane) fans is what gave you your platform. Whatever? Boohoo.... It must be so hard. What a sorry post.... if I’m a rival fan, I’m cackling at you right now. Troll fodder if I’ve ever seen it.
I don't have the points to do it but it would be pretty awesome if the stadium was full at kickoff tomorrow. Not sure u could make a much more telling point than that.
Our football program and is immensely sad/embarrassing.... In no way does it warrant the same celebration given to going to the final 4, nat championship or any other major win. Dislike.
Quarter or whatever hit anyone in the wallet? U still bought the tickets. This will be less effective than anything else that has been tried and it hurts the kids on top of that.
Saw Hoke talking to Nuss quite frequently Saturday night. If u watch the game they are often standing right next to each other... I doubt hoke restricts him much. By the same token I think Nuss is still getting comfortable with what Devin does well. Saw more rollouts than any other game last Saturday.
I just read Thewolverine.com's version of the Offensive UFR.... Not quite as detailed as the one here but still a very good piece. He spoke quite positively about Green... I also felt pretty good about Green coming out of the game. What gives?
About the cell phone reception thing.... I'm not a student but am fairly excited about better service in the big house. I've had friends in other parts of the stadium and we've wanted to meet up at halftime or directly after the game but been unable to get texts through. I also am a stat nerd (hence why I like this blog so much) and like to look up what sort of yardage guys are putting up or many times check out other teams playmakers stat line.
It's not going to make or break my Michigan game day experience but it's a definite improvement as well as something that has caused me a decent amount of frustration in the past.
I think it's pretty obvious that Devin's skill set matches up with MSU's 60 minutes of unnecessary roughness a lot better than Denards. He can stretch the field vertically more effectively than Denard could... So much respect for Denard but the intermediate/deep passing game was not his strength, it is Devin's.
I hate it as much as anyone, but it was a phenomenal play... Especially if u include the context. We had just been handed a VERY questionable 4th down conversion and had all of the momentum. Clowney was completely unblocked for sure but for as small as Vince was in 4 years playing I did not see anyone come remotely close to splatting him the way that hit did and then most impressively Clowney had the wherewithal to recover the fumble with one hand... Like it was a baseball. While "technically" not the most impressive play, it was the ultimate "man beast" play.
Taylor did not practice the last few weeks of the season and was in a boot when not playing games... It started because I was criticizing his play in November and the OSU game. He also whiffed on Shazier on that 4th down play where Denard got blown up. Apparently he was basically playing on one leg... Talk about tough.
Michigan has never had a player like Denard... And they may never again. I think it's fair to compare him to Michigan greats like you have... But Michigan has never had a player like him. I don't really think the NCAA has had a player like him. He is unique. He ran for over 1700 yards in 2010... people say he's not a QB, but he is. Saying he can't throw the ball is ridiculous. Not a dynamic passer but serviceable. He had a god awful game last saturday... fair enough. But I have never seen any individual player be as successful as he has with less talent then he has had the past 3 years. Howard, Woodsen and Wheatley all played on good to great teams... The past Michigan teams just do not have the same talent.... Just look at the NFL draft. Am I saying the other kids have less talent? Absolutely not. I think Charles Woodsen is far and away the best and most dominant player to play at Michigan. But saying someone has not watched a lot of football because they alledge Denard is one of a kind is unfair. Ive been going to games since I was 7 and have never seen anyone who can do what he does. He is truly unique and I dont think people will appreciate him until he is gone.
Green definitely has an extra gear maybe 2 that Smith doesn't possess.... That said I don't think I've seen any Michigan recruit violently break tackles the way Smith does. Maybe Brandon Minor (when he wasn't hurt)... Anyone speak to how Green and Smith's competition stack up?
It's obviously a joke... He explains how disrespectful it is to cut the name down to "Ohio" then he cuts it down further to simply "O" and predicts a michigan victory.... cmon.
At no point during this game did I feel like we had any chance of running the ball effectively against the Sparty front. The only running plays that were going to work were Denard "I'm a freak when the play breaks down runs" (1st touchdown) and misdirection plays (U cant build your offense around this). I think this game was a mirror image of ND except it was in East Lansing (Crowd advantage) and played in a tornado (makes mediocre passing game worse). We were outmuscled on both lines and with the level of penetration a consistent running game was not going to happen... I think he felt they had to throw the ball and from what I have seen after watching a second time is that many of the passing plays had short routes but were well covered. Sparty scores on first drive of the second half and we are down 14 going into the 4th.... I don't know how you can look at the situation and say we didnt have to throw the ball on some first downs.... Was it disappointing? Yes. But faith shaking.... C'mon. 7-7 at halftime... down 21-14 with multiple chances to tie in the 4th... In East Lansing. We were right there at crunch time NOT something you can say about last years game. I dont think the offensive numbers are a fair comparison given the conditions....
...... I don't think I have ever been able to forgive him for his capri wearing days. Plus I am such a big Federer fan and Nadal has owned him recently... Im only an average tennis fan but that 2008 Wimbledon final was one of the greatest sport matches I have ever seen..... Absolutely unbelievable.
Nantz: Good thing that alter boy is taking notes in his trapper keeper, otherwise the whole world would be seeing what the ladies affectionately refer to as the "Heat Seeking Moisture Missle."
Darius: Not much to see there homie. This is all very awkward. Im gonna go make some dookies look stupid. And that altar boy..... He's not taking notes.... He's doing an amateur sketch. Like I said....... Awkward.
The most logical explanation, that the only early enrollee Koger is spending time around currently (Greg Brown) is considering leaving..... it's twitter speculation but how many times did players or recruits tweet something during recruiting that was speculated on on this site. I don't see why it's a big deal to question it.... I don't think anyone is freaking out. It's one recruit. That said I hope Greg sticks around. Freshman year is tough. Let alone enrolling early. I think you are overreacting never got the feeling this was a panic mode post.
It would be very difficult being THE ONLY early enrollee at a school. No one to really relate too. Has that ever happened at U of M before? with only 1 early enrollee? He just needs to stick it out. First few weeks of february are the toughest weeks of the year....
If Hoke and staff doesn't step up and continue the treatment. The Mealer story is one of the saddest tragedies I have ever heard and the university has done a great thing by helping facilitate Brock's recovery. Things have to be insane for the new staff right now (talking to current players and salvaging a recruiting class.) I think once the dust settles and we get past signing day you will see that the staff will do whatever it takes to continue his rehab. Besides being the right thing to do, it would be a bad PR move to cut mealer off. I suspect one way or another you will see this treatment continue.
Why hasn't he been hired yet? If it were going to be him, DB could've hired him days ago and we would probably have Frost (maybe Lyons) as well as a more solid current class. It doesn't make sense.
Chris Balas of Rivals confirming no JH..... Says barring the unforseen he's taking 49er job.... Throwing a crazy amount of $ at him. It's premium content.... sorry.... but here's the link.....http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1172251 ...... Nice life maybe we'll hire Ralph Friedgen and no I'm not serious.
This entire entire situation is so sickening to me..... It has been less than a week. LESS THAN A WEEK since a veteran Ohio State team playing at home beat a young average beat up Michigan team. Anyone who was surprised by that result is not a true fan. Same should be said for Wisconsin. I was at every home game as well as down in cbus last Saturday. If you think Rodriguez should go thats perfectly acceptable but you people have absolutely no reason to be publicly negative about anything connected to the program. you accomplish nothing. Dave Brandon does not care what you have to say. You do not know what goes on behind the scenes. none of us are informed enough to make a rational opinion in regards to who should be coach. I have never been so disillusioned with the Michigan fan base. I couldnt believe when I heard boos at the end of the first half against wisconsin. These are 18-22 yr old kids. People have no right. If Im a high profile recruit, why would I want to come play at a place where there are boos and so much negativity. Now we've lost the highest touted runningback recruit we've had in a decade if not longer, and anyone who has watched tape on this kid knows he is absolutely electric. I feel sorry for the players. They played hard all year kept good attitudes and all this negativity has to be demoralizing. Stay positive people.

It's going to be fun to be a Michigan fan again..... Game ended 20 minutes ago and I still haven't moved.

Fisher to Oregon per Rivals........ crappppp
Ya I live in the Toledo area and "The Blade" is the worst.... So typical.
And that the writer is jumping to conclusions...... Which is typical of "the Blade". I am extremely confident it will work out.
