Smith plays the part and Candle can bridge Ohio recruiting. Funny how reality hit and all those MSU fans thought they suddenly had $11-12m to offer are realizing “oh those were pledges and we may need to settle with the other coach.”
The problem is he said an investigation disproves it. He should have said no signs were found of doing so. So when the proof comes out it will show OSU isn’t capable of a proper internal review AND that they did it.
I can only think he did it to try to pressure any overnight decision making
I guess it would be also the direct provision of content to the employee, though the reimbursement ties the action to the program and thus an extension therein
Let’s be honest: the only thing making it not legal is he reimbursed costs. If they’d all just uploaded their crap on YouTube independently it’d have been kosher per the rules
this blog could literally recruit 6-8 people each week to volunteer to travel and record and post the videos online for “the public” and it’s entire permissible
PED use at MSU was rampant in the early aughts. Walk-ons were even using with a variety of domestic violence incidences. That it’s been quietly hidden and mystery bowl bans keep happening is surprising
It’s hard drives, not servers. CS may have sent a department Chromebook used by … the department. Doesn’t mean anyone touched it or opened every file. Hence Washington Post saying “had access to,” not “opened and viewed hundreds of times by individual staff members”
This is an absurd post and should be deleted for being insanely inaccurate with facts.
The article does not say they had access to servers. It says:
“the firm said it had obtained from computer drives maintained and accessed by multiple Michigan coaches”
a hard drive is not a server. A computer maintained and accessed by multiple coaches is not necessarily a UM department computer. And, finally, wouldn’t it be plausible for an individual requesting video to send a Chromebook, university owned or not, for uploading the videos?
that’s not a firm accessing confidential university property. It’s one of this guy’s game filmers ratting him out and handing over the computer he had for this purpose.
Those staff members are hired on for a program that funds almost the entire rest of the school’s athletic programs. Acting like we should cut the staffing down to make room for women’s hockey is absurd.
He dealt with the god damn players so the coaches didn't have to. He has people skills; he is good at dealing with people! Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?
Payne in police interviews acknowledged he knew she was no longer interested and Appling continued. Payne admitted they put her in a bad spot. The very act is a character issue, much less a punishment one. They didn't miss a game.

He wasn’t there for 900+ of them so I think he will be fine. If anything, it’s emblematic of The Team for it to be “got” by a fill-in

I wasn’t able to find a provision this violates. Care to share your citation?

They didn’t get into UM computer systems. They accessed a computer hard drive. Those are two incredibly different things
It’s hard drives, not servers. CS may have sent a department Chromebook used by … the department. Doesn’t mean anyone touched it or opened every file. Hence Washington Post saying “had access to,” not “opened and viewed hundreds of times by individual staff members”
The OP grossly mischaracterized the matter
”the firm said it had obtained from computer drives maintained and accessed by multiple Michigan coaches”
drives aren’t servers. The firm got a Chromebook basically
Where has that ever been substantiated beyond OSU fans clinging to the idea this is the W and L erasing effort needed to justify the rivalry shift?

But the letter of the law is it’s how much time since the NCAA sends it to Ole Miss. Thus, since they haven’t, the clock hasn’t started
