UCLA beats #7 Kentucky
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:06 PM ^
Unranked Michigan beat unranked UCLA. Unranked UCLA then beat #7 Kentucky. I am no John Nash, but I am pretty sure this means we ought to be ranked #1, right?
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:10 PM ^
At least number 5, until Kentucky is reranked accordingly

Celebrating the holiday in Lexington this year. There was an angry quasi mob at the mall this morning, dads xmas shopping and all. I rather enjoyed the comments about how UCLA should be ranked top 10. My michigan hoodie got some frowns so I made it a quick trip. UK tears are salty.

You can gain sustenance off of my horrific fears anytime. I would be happy to aide your 28 year slumber.
Merry Christmas

Confirmed. Good proxy win. Definitely helps RPI, SOS which has taken a little hit since the cupcake wins.
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:10 PM ^
I hate uk as much as I hate osu and msu.
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:52 PM ^
Try moving to Lexington during the fab 5 era and you'd really hate Kentucky. Before I moved here, I actually liked Kentucky, but loved my Wolverines. Enough times of random middle aged men trying to start actual fights with my 16 year old self because I wore Michigan gear and wouldn't say Kentucky was better, was enough to develop an extreme hatred.
Go Blue and go anyone playing big blue.
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:58 PM ^
The b-ball fans here are every bit the equal of osu football fans
December 23rd, 2017 at 7:37 PM ^
I've found they all really hate OSU at least

The 2 worst fan bases in all of sports
December 24th, 2017 at 11:53 AM ^
Born and raised. Being a Michigan fan all my life I can truly attest to the fact that you’re absolutely correct on these two being the worst fan bases. When UK is in football season it’s usually the “ Go SEC” chant I hear. Last year when two SEC teams made the final four in hoops it was insufferable. UK fans don’t even know anything about other teams so you can’t even discuss sports in general. Ohio St really needs no explanation of why they are the worst.
December 23rd, 2017 at 8:49 PM ^
The 1993 Final Four win against Kentucky may have been our most under-rated win ever in any sport.
That Kentucky team was a juggernaut, knocking off teams in the tournament by 50 points.
But Michigan out-muscled them in the paint to pull off the win at the end of the game.
No wonder they hated us.
Too bad.
December 23rd, 2017 at 9:26 PM ^
agree is was a great win, but I don’t think it was underrated, it is rated pretty high.
December 24th, 2017 at 10:29 AM ^
Kentucky was a good team but Michigan was a #1 seed and ranked in the top 5 all season. Great win certainly but Michigan had four NBA players.
December 25th, 2017 at 11:04 AM ^
cohesion
UK was ultra talented as was Cincinnati with Nick Van Exel
December 24th, 2017 at 12:38 AM ^
That usually works best trying to end most conversations with Kentucky basketball fans
December 24th, 2017 at 8:18 AM ^
in the right context. I can't stand it when folks refer to us as 'Big Blue'

Good resume booster. Hopefully UCLA runs train on the rest of its schedule.
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:28 PM ^
You know what's a good resume builder? Charitable work, a background in social media marketing, and a few solid references from recognized experts in your chosen field.

Loved that movie! Belushi, you stupid fuck, why??? Loved you too...
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:11 PM ^
for John and the team. They're on a nice little roll anyway, and this is a huge boost. With the B1G in general doing so poorly, this should help distinguish them. Just have to avoid bad losses to bad teams. I think they could finish as high as third in the conference.
December 23rd, 2017 at 6:19 PM ^
was thinking that the whole time I was watching that game.
Texas beating a previously ranked Bama team at Bama is also good for us.
Besides that's 2 losses for the SEC cause fuck the SEC!

Yippee! A Christmas present 2 days early!
It’s a Festivus Miracle!

Nice win for UCLA.
December 23rd, 2017 at 7:24 PM ^
Now let us see Michigan win the B1G title in basketball.
December 23rd, 2017 at 7:52 PM ^
Early on in the season as their high school all star team begins to gel. Definitely good for Michigan though.
GO BLUE!!

December 23rd, 2017 at 8:30 PM ^
UM fan and UK fan. UCLA played out of their minds against UK. But UM has the makings of being very good if they can get it together. Anyone can beat UK in the beginng of the season they're so inexperienced
December 24th, 2017 at 11:19 AM ^
Every single year...UK is basically a 1yr NBA prep program.
December 23rd, 2017 at 8:40 PM ^
Wow. Really helps Michigan. Hope this team can be consistent going into Big Ten play. I really think Matthews needs to assert himself more.
December 23rd, 2017 at 9:04 PM ^
if we could help ourselves by beating ranked teams ourselves, instead of depending on other teams to do it for us.
December 23rd, 2017 at 9:33 PM ^
Remember that the unoriginally named AA Forever, Go Blue Forever, and Michigan Forever are troll accounts of a Sparty fan. Even though we can't understand how depressing this person's life must be, let's wish him well in this season of giving.
December 23rd, 2017 at 10:20 PM ^
I've never been either of those posters, and I've never been a sparty fan.
UCLA made themselves relevant with a big win against a real quality team. We have yet to do that this year, and may not. Prove me wrong.
December 23rd, 2017 at 10:57 PM ^
Texas on the Road!
December 24th, 2017 at 10:31 AM ^
That was without by far their best player? Glad we won, but not sure what that proves, since we probably would have lost if they had been at full strength.
December 24th, 2017 at 10:51 AM ^
Please tell me where the if goes; with the Kenpom or the unranked team! This is beneath a discussion you’ve purported that Michigan would’ve lost, if. So, when you try and argue a point at least include a possible answer to your point. It’s beyond sub-stratal at this point.
December 24th, 2017 at 11:36 AM ^
Don't feed the trolls.
December 24th, 2017 at 11:41 AM ^
My bad! GO BLUE! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
December 23rd, 2017 at 11:05 PM ^
Isn’t a quality team. Although they just beat Kentucky. So by your generous deduction Michigan, has zero quality wins. Although Michigan did beat UCLA, the win is not considered a quality win? Yeah well your intelligence will not be questioned.
December 24th, 2017 at 10:29 AM ^
UCLA that Ken Pom has at 51 even AFTER beating Kentucky? The UCLA that was a mess when we barely beat them at home? That UCLA?
Is Wofford a quality team becasue they just beat North Carolina, at North Carolina? By your logic, apparently so. By your logic, they are better than us, since we got smoked at UNC.
December 24th, 2017 at 10:40 AM ^
I’ll let you have your own argument. ‘‘Tis the season! Lol. By the way do you believe in Kenpom? Do rankings matter to you?
December 24th, 2017 at 10:44 AM ^
You have no intelligent answer to any of this. Nuf sed.
December 24th, 2017 at 10:45 AM ^
I️ cannot argue with if: therefore your argument means nothing!
