PSU had #5 open way down field...sadly about 30 yards past Allar's duck fart range
December 30th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
Haha. Did penn st find a new qb?
He can't possibly be worse than Allar on that duck.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:37 PM ^
Watching our two biggest competitors within the conference get dump trucked by mid sec teams isn’t filling me with confidence
December 30th, 2023 at 1:39 PM ^
These are not at all the same teams we played. Nowhere close.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:40 PM ^
Take heart - they're both missing a lot of their best players from opt-outs while the SEC teams are not.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:42 PM ^
Did you think OSU wasn't going to show the effects of losing McCord and the Maserati?
December 30th, 2023 at 1:43 PM ^
Watching the teams we beat lose their most important players and then struggle a bit in their absence against the two teams that are Georgia’s biggest wins by far is not troubling.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:39 PM ^
There's hope for the Big Ten (including us). One of our top teams actually scored a touchdown. We're not all Iowa?
December 30th, 2023 at 1:40 PM ^
Play by play guy when PSU defender goes down hurt: "that is a . . . pejorative sight". A for effort. But just stay within yourself. When you try to do too much you just hurt the team.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:51 PM ^
Gotta be gap-sound there, PbP guy. Do your job, trust others to do theirs. Don't try to be the hero.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:40 PM ^
Damn, we need a big WR that can pluck arm-punt passes out of the clouds.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:59 PM ^
Too bad admissions messed us up from having X.Worthy.
December 30th, 2023 at 3:04 PM ^
Ok Josh Gattis burner account

Ole Miss has some receivers--great catch by #9.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:41 PM ^
Almost
December 30th, 2023 at 3:05 PM ^
It's a fun offense to play in for WRs.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:42 PM ^
It’s a little disheartening to watch Ole Miss throw for 250 yards in a half when Michigan didn’t even throw in the 2nd half.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:44 PM ^
No Chop Robinson and no starting corners has a lot to do with that.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:46 PM ^
I'm never gonna understand people who can't be happy with a big win. ALSO, if you are road grading the other team, why in the world wouldn't you just keep mauling? smfh
December 30th, 2023 at 1:48 PM ^
Non-CFP bowl games have become a joke. PSU is missing an NFL CB and likely 1st round edge rusher. This isn’t the same defense Michigan played against.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:49 PM ^
Michigan’s not one for tempo and has never had a “Chuck it to the big outside receiver” game even when we’ve had those kinds of receivers.
But one of the upshots is that our defense is much, much better. Ole Miss is a classic example of how complimentary football works; their offense is extremely tempo, and their defense suffers for it.
There’s a definite pattern to their drives; once they get rolling, they’re hard to stop, and PSU’s thin depth chart accentuates the problems. When PSU is fresh they’re all over the offensive backfield, and that has nearly caused two big TOs. Once Ole Miss gets past that they turn on the jets and PSU starts to struggle.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:16 PM ^
This is a braindead thing to say.
PSU is missing both its corners and Chop Robinson. Of course their pass D is nowhere near as good as a result.

Drew Allar meets 2 minute drill.
This could be an extinction-level event.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:44 PM ^
#23 has got stone hands.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:45 PM ^
"wasn't gonna fall for the banana in the tailpipe" That's solid
December 30th, 2023 at 1:45 PM ^
Franklin is so embarassing. 1:30 ball back with 3 time outs and no effort to score/horrendous drive and now Kiffin will probably score with only 40 seconds to go.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:45 PM ^
Awful series there for Penn State. Allar is a bum.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:47 PM ^
Brutal. :-)
December 30th, 2023 at 2:03 PM ^
The backup looked slightly more interesting because he can move a bit. Allar looks :/
December 30th, 2023 at 1:47 PM ^
Going to take Frames a few more years to figure out that Allar is not an effective runner.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:47 PM ^
It's kinda sad we don't get to face Allar and this PSU offense in the Big House next year.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:47 PM ^
Why give up on the drive so quickly, Kiffy?
December 30th, 2023 at 1:50 PM ^
The battle of witlessness continues: Franklin and Kiffen are playing three-dimensional checkers in the last seconds of the half.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:53 PM ^
Ole Miss ran 45 plays in the half. That’s nuts.
December 30th, 2023 at 1:53 PM ^
One Ole Miss play I really like is that quick pitchout against PSU’s aggressive DEs. Gets them into space quickly. PSU missing some key guys that can close that down, too.

Its downright ugly weather over here on the west coast next few days from what I've seen. Interested to see Wx report for the grandaddy of them all, but rain & cold likely in LA
December 30th, 2023 at 2:01 PM ^
Weather.com forecast says cloudy early, becoming more sunny in the afternoon, high of 65, no significant rain forecasted for Monday.
A typical Rose Bowl forecast, from the sound of it. Rain before and after, but the Rose Bowl always seems to get good weather.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:07 PM ^
Okay good deal. I'm heading south in about a week, so was just looking at storms coming across CA to NV. Snow & rain definitely later in the week.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:13 PM ^
It’s what serves as a wet season in CA and it’s a big El Niño year (a trend dramatically visible in Minnesota, incidentally), so I’m not surprised at all by the larger forecast trends.
One interesting feature of the Rose Bowl is good weather luck. One time there was heavy rain all day on New Years, but the game was the BCS title game that year and happened later, when there was perfect weather.
(And a perfect game! That was the 2006 Rose Bowl between USC and Texas).
December 30th, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
Big Ten weather!
December 30th, 2023 at 1:59 PM ^
College football teams need to start playing 2 QBs every week. Maybe recruit one dual threat and give that QB significant action in case the drop back QB goes down. Ohio State's 3rd stringer wasn't up to the task, almost by design as the offense went into a shell when he came in the game. All teams will do better when the QB runs, but the threat of an injury means you need a decent backup.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
That's what I was hoping Michigan would do early in the season. I thought our IU transfer has a good arm but he did not get to play much. Orji is good running the ball but we are unsure about his passing.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:15 PM ^
The problem is that it's hard to convince two starting-caliber QBs to stick around.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:54 PM ^
As soon as a QB who thinks he should be the starter is made second-string he’s in the portal.

Women's basketball: Michigan 62 - Ohio State 57 about a minute left.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:03 PM ^
M 67 - OSU 57 with 18.6 seconds left.

Michigan beats #17 Ohio State 69-60. Great win! Go Blue!

Maryland with a quick score against Auburn in the next game of the B1G/SEC challenge.
December 30th, 2023 at 2:17 PM ^
Allar is so bad.
Still funny to me how a couple people kept arguing about this early in the year. It was clear from the outset against WVU.
