Austin Hatch was out there helping with practice. LeVert, Walton, Wilson, and Spike all look pretty healthy. You can see the good weight Mo Wagner has added. Hooray basketball!

I see big years for LeVert, Walton, and Dawkins.  Robinson's stroke looks great and there are so many others who can also step up.  Doyle's minutes last year feel very helpful.  Wagner needs time.

A lot of our bench players could start on many Big Ten teams. Spike, MAAR, Robinson, Chatman, are all going to be very solid for us this year. We might be one of the deepest teams in the country this year.

Duncan Robinson can put the ball in the rim. Also, don't forget Zack Irvin is on this team, just not back to full workouts yet. This will be a deep group, as expected.

Excited for this year.

I still don't think Caris is going to be able to carry this team. I see him having a very good year, but I dont think he's capable of anything Burkian or Stauskassian.I think how far we go is going to be determined by Walton and NBAlbrecht at the point along with whatever we get out of the 4 spot.

Agreed. Loved to hear about how Beilein feels great about all the possibilities on offense and is going to throw a lot at them and see what they can handle. So excited for this season.

Maybe it was a UMhoops article I read before, but they also mentioned how Michigan could put out a very long lineup at times that could be really tough using the 1-3-1.

this team is deeper than the one we got to the NC game with. we may not have the level of Burke and McGary at their positions, but in terms of total talent/depth, this team has more. Robinson' shot is going to space the floor like Stauskas' did. that was the missing ingredient last year. Caris does not have to carry the team any more than Hardaway carried the NC tram.

But by the same token, Stauskas was not a B1G POY that season - he was still in his "not just a shooter" phase. McGary was a very raw freshman at the outset. And Caris and Spike were freshmen who played very limited minutes until late in the season. We probably do not have the high-end talent of that team but from 1 through 13 on the roster, we might be deeper. We'll see.

This time last year we were counting the days until basketball season.  This year, we are fortunately preoccupied with the resurrection of the football team and basketball is sneaking up on us.   It's pretty cool.

I'm also looking forward to the progression of the sophmores.  This report paints an optimistic picture of their physical and cardiovascular improvement.  That, coupled with their experience from last year should give this team a big boost.

There was some chat early on about him redshirting so that he could actually play someday as a grad transfer at a smaller school.  But all of the injuries necessitated his involvement in a few games.  It was ugly.  Hopefully his services will not be required this season.

This season should be a lot of fun.  I can't wait.  With Chatman, Doyle and Wilson stronger and with more endurance, this will be a very deep and talented team.  I expect them to make big strides from last year.  If everybody stays healthy, we will have a very good problem finding enough minutes for everybody.

One thing I'm a bit concerned about is Spike Albrecht's recovery from double hip surgery.  Omar Calhoun from UConn had the same surgery (on both hips) a couple years ago and was pretty worthless during their championship season.  Of course, he's a former top recruit who hasn't panned out yet, but the story was that he wasn't back to normal that season because he missed the whole summer and didn't pick up a ball until practice started in the fall.  Hopefully Spike has a much more successful return to action.

This team, if healthy, is primed for a huge year. I almost forgot how much talent was coming back. Caris, Irvin, Walton.... + experienced sophomores. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Caris is dropping bombs! When he gets a chance to catch and shoot he is automatic. MAAR does a good job of defending in the last one on one until levert acts like its football season and truck sticks him. Great slam afterwards though!

The person who I am going to be paying attention most early on is Ricky Doyle. Very frustrating freshman year but I really feel those minutes will pay off starting this season.

Wow. Duncan's shot looks exactly like I imagined after reading all the hype about him. Stauskas 2.0 right there.

he has worked on the form for his jumper. Last year he had a low release point, and I know many on this board saw that as a glaring weakness. In that video it looked like he was releasing the ball higher with a little more arc on his shots. I'm really excited to see his progress this year.
