Domani Jackson de-commits from USC
November 14th, 2021 at 6:10 PM ^
He’s visiting for the OSU game per Lorenz.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:17 PM ^
A win is probably the only chance of getting him. Maybe a close loss could help sell him that his presence could make the difference.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:24 PM ^
Fans always assume this, but I don’t think recruits really care that much about the game’s outcome. In their minds, the school would have won if they had been out there.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:32 PM ^
I feel I remember us hosting someone for that amazing Notre Dame UTL game with Denard, and being at that game made him realize he wanted to go to Notre Dame because he was pulling for them to win.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:40 PM ^
You are correct. Name escapes me also but I'm almost positive he was an offensive lineman. Might have been from MI also.

Steve Elmer
November 14th, 2021 at 8:52 PM ^
A real glue guy.
November 14th, 2021 at 9:06 PM ^
Elmer stuck with his commitment to ND.
November 14th, 2021 at 8:02 PM ^
being at that game made him realize he wanted to go to Notre Dame because he was pulling for them to win.
That's apparently how we got Dylan McCaffrey. Found himself cheering for us while watching a game and that's how he realized he wanted to go to Michigan
November 14th, 2021 at 9:52 PM ^
I still think he would have been a star if he hadn't had those injuries. He was a very good runner, had a really good arm, and was smart. (Without the injuries he'd probably be Michigan's starter with Cade/JJ preparing to fight it out for the job next year.)
November 14th, 2021 at 9:08 PM ^
If I remember correctly, it was Jake Butt who decided to come here after being at that game.
November 14th, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
Surely wins in our next two games would help recruiting but I think this season has already shown stability and an upward trend.
Playoff expansion can only help teams like us that are quite often on the edge.
November 14th, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
The development of true freshman Rod Moore should be spotlighted.
He had an amazing game on Saturday
November 14th, 2021 at 9:19 PM ^
Hopefully non-dickish public service announcement: that's not what comeuppance means.
November 14th, 2021 at 9:31 PM ^
Clink really likes him.
November 15th, 2021 at 2:21 AM ^
What cornerback coach in the country doesn’t like a 5⭐️ player who appears to be a game changer??
November 15th, 2021 at 2:00 PM ^
He’s talking about Rod Moore.
November 15th, 2021 at 8:22 AM ^
Not having a stadium full of osu fans will do more to get domani to come than the outcome of the game
November 15th, 2021 at 8:52 AM ^
Sam Webb addressed this subject earlier this morning. He said that while in the large majority of cases an individual game doesn't have a determinative impact on a recruit's decisions, the outcome of the UM-OSU game will likely play a significant role in Jackson's final decision.
November 14th, 2021 at 7:48 PM ^
Wasn't Domani's first great visit while we were getting pulverized by a crappy Wisconsin team in 2020?
November 14th, 2021 at 10:57 PM ^
I know this wasn’t your intent but stuff like this kind of insults recruits’ intelligence. These kids are smart enough to know not to base suck an important decision on one data point. Hell, Domani almost committed last year on the Wisconsin visit.
Now of course it would be a huge help if we won since the atmosphere would be bananas and it would show that he can win big here. But I don’t think a loss would really tank out chances
November 15th, 2021 at 5:40 AM ^
None of Michigan offered athletes base suck any decision on one data point.
November 14th, 2021 at 7:25 PM ^
Two CB’s put in for him to Alabama yesterday.
November 14th, 2021 at 9:02 PM ^
Wow, what a HUGE surprise!!!
November 15th, 2021 at 1:59 AM ^
He’s visiting for the OSU game per Jackson. “I’m going out there for the Ohio State game (Nov. 27) at the end of the month,” Jackson said.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:11 PM ^
Smeagol keeps telling about his precious - is it a sign?
November 14th, 2021 at 6:11 PM ^
Betting he’s Bama bound.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:14 PM ^
He has received multiple crystal balls there including from Wiltfong. Bama is probably the leader but it is encouraging that Michigan gets the last visit
November 14th, 2021 at 6:19 PM ^
Saw him get 2 crystal ballz to Bama yesterday but decided not to post about it. Didn't want to be Debbie Downer in the wake of a nice win. Wiltfong is a pretty on the spot guy so this is disconcerting. The other ball is from an Alabama insider.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:54 PM ^
Wiltfong ends up correct a lot, but he has self admitted that he puts in picks more based on a heat check of the current feeling. If Jackson were committing tomorrow, it’d be pretty much over. Assuming a final commitment will extend until after the season, there’s quite a bit of time for him to change his pick, as he frequently does.

Dammit Wingding!
November 14th, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
His dad has already said they're going to wait until the regular season is over, sit down as a family and look everything over, and may announce between then and Christmas.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:24 PM ^
Sam Webb mentioned Jackson in one of his recruiting roundups last week and he wasn't his usual optimistic self when discussing Alabama's position in the recruitment.
It would be disappointing not to get him but as long as he doesn't end up at OSU I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
November 15th, 2021 at 4:04 PM ^
I'm almost sure OSU is not in the mix for Jackson. It's basically down to us, Bama and USC. And usually when a kid decommits from a school - like he did with USC - that's it for that school (99% of the time). So basically is UM or Alabama
November 14th, 2021 at 8:04 PM ^
Sam Webb was saying on the Michigan Recruiting Insider that Domani is highly influenced by the visit he's just taken so Bama currently leading isn't shocking, but us getting the last visit is huge
November 14th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
I think it's valid to think he's Bama bound, but I think that's mostly because that's the school he visited before decommitting, and it's Alabama. This is one that seems FAR from over and will probably end up being a rollercoaster of emotions like Dax was.
November 15th, 2021 at 10:06 PM ^
That’s awesome. So did Dax Hill. Then he verbally committed to Alabama and faxed his signed letter right to Ann Arbor on signing day. Seems like Alabama has that immediate ‘shock and awe’ effect on guys after visits. The fact Michigan will be bringing him to town weeks before signing day is the biggest deal in this race even if he verbals to Alabama tomorrow.
November 14th, 2021 at 9:50 PM ^
Non Michigan sources have also been saying it’s bama or usc
November 14th, 2021 at 6:15 PM ^
I will not watch his highlights, nope, not gonna happen.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
and NCAA Playoff football in Michigan next weekend
November 14th, 2021 at 6:17 PM ^
It’s happening!!!
November 14th, 2021 at 6:19 PM ^
We agree, Domani, it is in your best interest to decommit from USC.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:21 PM ^
Crystal ball from Wiltfong to Bama
November 14th, 2021 at 6:46 PM ^
“Dream school” is a fickle mistress indeed.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:26 PM ^
Amazingly, this is where it will all turn around. A big UM win over OSU, and he'll be swept up in the glory and commit on the spot. I can feel it.
November 14th, 2021 at 6:32 PM ^
Alabama can't get enough of those 5*'s
November 14th, 2021 at 6:32 PM ^
He's probably going to Bama but still nice UM has a chance to get him on campus. You never know what happens.
