The "All Is Not Lost: Winovich Staying/MBB Squad Might Be Very Good" Posbang Thread

Submitted by LKLIII on

I know we already had a basketball victory over Iowa posbang thread last night, but this Winovich thing deserves one too I think.

Two good pieces of news within 24 hours should be a reminder that all is not lost with this great university's athletic endeavours.

Things are going to be just fine.

Bring on 2018!

Timtebro broken record. Yeah that repeat of that saying was kind of funny like over 3 years ago. Just keep on repeating it though. I wonder what the brains of guys like you look like inside and everyone else that keeps posting the same thing. Cut you guys open and you'd find a peanut or cashew. Something on those lines I imagine.

Agreed.

Problem I see is the number of remaining opportunities against "quality" opponents. Same reason MSU will finish with no more than 2-3 losses.

We have many chances at  disastrous losses and only a couple chances to impress before the Big Ten tourney.

Take care of business I guess.

Serious Question: When things are not going so hot and I am feeling somewhat despondent about M sports, I withdraw from this blog and most sports news in general. It seems like some people on this board do the opposite and comment or post more. I wonder if there's a way to quantify how site traffic/posting is when things are good and vice versa. Anyone know?

may be what we needed to jolt this team. Earlier this morning, heard Eye of the Tiger while out for a walk in 10 degree weather and started thinking about the lesson from that Rocky film. Truth is, I think JH has recruited GOOD YOUNG MEN for the most part (didn't care for the Nordin moment but he apologized and hopefully is running stadium steps for 30 days in a row).

If Sparty can go from 3-9 to 10-3, we can certainly make a 2-3 game jump back to 10-11 wins.

With the right OC and Peters improvement (I'm assuming Shea will have to sit out a year) - this team CAN surprise a lot of people next year.

Bball team is good. I think next year they could be great with a year of experience and strengthening. There's a lot of young talent getting a lot of experience and I don't think any real dangers to leave early unless Matthews becomes more of a consistent and decisive scorer. I always think guys leave too early though.
