They were going on about how Patterson was lucky the refs didn't call grounding when he fumbled/threw the ball out of bounds as he was getting tackled.
How could they not know the penalty would have left them in the exact same situation as the fumble?

It was stupid because the refs called him down, which is essentially grounding. Not a good day for the announcers.

I was watching the game while also entertaining my football oblivious 9 year old daughter.
Intermittently she would see the screen and say "who is that grumpy guy?". I would say "Mork Dantini" or something similar. The riff kept going and she came up with the winner "Pork Maraschino!". I'm hungry.

A very satisfying beat down, but I don’t think a win over Michigan State deserves Muppets. State deserves only our contempt.

This take is so tired, in 2019 it's ok to show you care and I'm not going to pretend like kicking State's ass doesn't feel great.
It also sure feels more like triumph over thr entire Mork regime more so than a single victory.

It’s not tired. It’s how things used to be and how they are again. I enjoyed the victory but it’s not like beating OSU or ND. Getting excited validates them. I won’t do that.

So this win is muppet worthy for its significance. But moving forward wins over MSU should be celebrated but expected.

Cathartic.. still not sold on Patterson, but hell did the coaches do a good job putting him in a position to succeed, and succeed he did.

Sold or not, we own him, and there are only 3 games left with him.
if the coaches have finally figured out how to put him in positions to succeed, good enough.
He certainly looked pretty good against the last couple of legit defenses.

Agreed. Where have the wide receiver screens been all year? It just seems like we put Patterson in situations that are not his strength. Often 3rd and long situations, long patterns that require him to sit in the pocket where he tends to be jumpy, etc. We had plays against State that I had not seen before or only rarely that let our athletes show their stuff. More of that please.
Also, more Charbonnet. Haskins is ok, but clearly not the better back and Wilson, while a good story, should not be vulching as many carries as he does.
