"(A sign of personal growth: I only thought and believed these things. I did not tweet them.)" -hysterical. I of course, though not tweeting, did go immediately into meltdown mode much to the dismay of my wife after the first Gopher TD. I hadn't had one of those tantrums since February or March :(
All due respect to Liverpool for their outstanding season, but sheesh, if my beloved MUFC was third, then you know the EPL was garbage this year. Well, I'll take third and a Champions League slot anyways.
His story and the name change are why I'm going to give WFT one more chance before I completely give up on them. I may reconsider recanting my fandom if Snyder gets the fuck out of Dodge...such an asshole.
I would recommend the Outlander series. It's good historical fiction with a little time travel thrown in for good measure. Much better than it sounds from my description.
I also recently read One Second After by William Forstchen. The other books in the series are good as well. I read them one after the other.
I like lawyer books... and some psychological thrillers as well.
This thread could turn me into a Wolverine Fan. :)
Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva - good light reading for action and espionage stuff. Israeli counter-terrorist group and their fight against various enemies, including former Nazis, terrorists and Russians. Good stuff.
Washington Nationals' reliever Sean Doolittle said it best: "Sports are like a reward for a functioning society." By no measure are we really functioning right now, I hate to say.
I was at U-M when they won the '88 Super Bowl. Watched the game at a dorm-mate's parent's house in Birmingham or somewhere like that. This was the game when they scored 35 points in the second quarter after falling behind 10-0. Timmy Smith, who came out of nowhere, rushed for 200+ yards and Doug Williams tore the Broncos apart.
The talk about drones above reminds of the incident my buddy, his son and his father-in-law experienced. Xmas a few years ago, my buddy bought his son a drone, which they promptly lost in a field next door in possibly 30 seconds. That spring, they got another drone, which, you guessed it, disappeared in a similar amount of time. The good news was when they looked for the second drone, the found the first one which had clearly been run over by a tractor. lol
As the kids say, "LEL." Can anyone think that there is a remotely viable chance that McCaffrey (or anyone) this year is a Heisman candidate? What in the team's history over Harbaugh's tenure would make someone think a QB we have is a Heisman candidate? The best QB we have had in the current regime is a transfer, Jake Ruddock.
Driving through Baltimore on I-95 one would often see USNS Comfort (I believe) at a mooring. It is pretty awesome, and there is a positive psychological impact of a big white ship with big red crosses on it.

Yeah - Dead for me too. I saw them at Crisler in '89.
Classical music for the genre pick
Rocco's dad seems a little toxic...probably the source of Rocco's mean streak. Best of luck to him with the Irish.
Yep - as usual, it's the "adults" ruining everything for the rest of us.
NB: By "adults," I mean ethicless, gangster fuckwits.
Or ISU

This is the moment of transubstantiation into pure energy.
which shoe company and agent are behind this idea?
This is the content I come to MGoBlog for :)
RFK Stadium during peak Gibbs years was incredible. The whole city was obsessed with the team.
LOL my wife is a Broncos fan, and she gets PISSED when I talk about that game, even though we were completely unrelated at the time.
Ugg - he coached at Ohio State LOL
Yeah that '91 team was very, very good. Great defense. The '83 team that lost to the Raiders in the SB was really good too.

RIP Coach Bugel - so many great memories growing up in the DC area with those teams. 3 Super Bowl wins
I too needed a cigarette after that rant - damn
Had a few good laughs reading this - thanks, Ace.
Weird game, but U-M went on a tear the rest of the season until the unironic finale for Bo in the very same Rose Bowl.
That's pretty hard core. I've never seen two football games in one day in person.
What kind of garbage school is Purdue if your credits don't transfer to U-M?
Uggg...choate (or "Coke Marijuana Hall" as we Andover people called it)
The best episode is the client dinner with Jan at Chili's.
Yeah - I was going to see Dead and Co. in July in St. Louis - canceled.

Didn't realize the governor allowed preschool to open!

One on One: Dr J versus Larry Bird - friggin' hilarious now that I look back on it.
Forza and the other one (racing games)
Blades of Steel
Freshman year '87 - Notre Dame (loss)

Cried out of my penis?
Yeah, Kovacs and JMFR were real assets on the defense - great football players.

Not TV shows, but:
The Apple Dumpling Gang
Escape from Witch Mountain
Herby the Love Bug
Swiss Family Robinson
Pippi Longstockings
Rocky and Bullwinkle - outstanding propaganda...really good stuff
BIG negative on Ultraman - that show freaked me out. Lost in Space sucked ass too.
Yep - I would imagine it is empty. *pro-tip: cedar rapids is even easier :)
The economic impact of this pandemic is going to be outrageous. We are going to have to suck it up as a society.
This is taking cancel culture all too far!!!!!!!!
I canceled my flight from Des Moines to DCA to visit my mom...I'm bummed :(
Yeah - exactly what I saw. U-M didn't choke, and they kept the game in control the whole second half.
I remember feeling ambivalent about Caris early at U-M...but then he seemed to play as hard as nails. He really was a baller.
I still owe a KSU grad a case of beer because of that bullshit...he moved away, and so I haven't made good on our bet.
It looks like a boil or ingrown hair complex.
