OT- Coach from Montana Tech
November 18th, 2010 at 9:41 PM ^
"I really feel like, at this point, this team is ready to go HIT individuals from another institution of higher learning"
This guy is either crazy or just devastatingly sarcastic and brilliant. Gold.

Why not both?
November 19th, 2010 at 8:43 AM ^
"It's kind of a math thing, you know? If we lost our last one, we lost two out of three, but if we won our last one we'd won two out of three"
Definitely both.

This could be the best post of the year
November 18th, 2010 at 9:40 PM ^
are you the devil?
Please advice
November 18th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
I noticed that when I posted. I figured it was an MGoConspiracy because of my signature.
November 18th, 2010 at 9:46 PM ^
That first one is gold. I miss John L.
November 18th, 2010 at 9:55 PM ^
I worried more about John L as a Coach than I ever worry about St Dantonio. John L was creative and had a prolific offense. St Dantonio is boring, if we hadn't crapped on our hat the last few years he might be on his way out too. He is Tressel with less talent, less personality with the sideline demeanor of someone trying to pass a kidney stone.
November 18th, 2010 at 9:59 PM ^
Yes, I guess "creative" is one way to describe John L Smith's offenses, but in no world is Smith a better coach than Dantonio.

Homely girl on a honeymoon. Busy. Busy busy.
November 18th, 2010 at 9:45 PM ^
On the Homely girl and pogo stick. Great stuff! Some of them you can see him thinking it through but most he just rolls with...he would be fun to play for.
November 18th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
Because of the amount of hard edge this guy has, I would argue this almost isn't OT.
Best quote: "I want these guys bouncin' around today like a pogo stick on viagra."
November 18th, 2010 at 9:46 PM ^
voice is one tone...hard edge.
November 18th, 2010 at 9:55 PM ^
Not to be a dick, but how much longer are you going to keep replying HARD EDGE to everything?
November 18th, 2010 at 9:57 PM ^
until the hard edge aint so hard no more
November 18th, 2010 at 9:58 PM ^
He is definitely not looking forward to the time when "Hard Edge" becomes obsolete.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
Usually when you preface a sentence with Not to be a [ fill in the blank] or I don't mean any disrespect, but...you usually mean it.
So with that said, not to be a calendar, but when myself and others put down hard edge week, it usually means seven days. It probably will stop after the Wiscy game. I would like to personally like to apologize to you and the curmudgeon club if we are pumped and anxious about this upcoming game. I don't really see how it affects anything but a couple people's soft edge patience. We are having fun and it isn't hurting anyone. Chill out brah.
What's wrong with all you HARD EDGE HATERS out there?? It could be said 5 million times, and it would still be incredible!! I have been all in for HARD EDGE WEEK since I first read the post last Saturday night...It has energized not only my outlook on the game this Saturday, but my entire week...GO BLUE!!!
That was from a dude under 1000 points. If two words bring out some new intensity for this Saturday, I really don't see the harm. It is a fad. Like pogs, it will go away. So be tolerant and don't look at the posts if they put sand in your fajita that bad. I didn't know there were censors that looked to smother the voice of people that want to show excitement for beating the fat fuckin bastards from Madison. So put up with it for at least another two days, if you can.
Hard. Edge.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
Being a whinny little bitch is Soft Edge. You have officially fallen off the Hard Edge caravan. You make me sick.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
HARD EDGE.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
Why get so damn defensive? I never said I had a problem with it. I just asked how long you were going to keep calling everything HARDEDGE.
And, I'm not your brah.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:24 PM ^
Gotcha. Like I said, it will probably go away after Wiscy. It is a fad, like "grit".
November 18th, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
is not a fad. And the Hard Edge meme is kinda dumb, I'm not saying I'm just saying.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
Grit is very much is a fad Dark Blue. It's just so gritty that is hasn't given up yet.
(Gotta love the low hanging jokes on the joke tree)
November 18th, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
C'mon, BRAH! Your attitude is not Hard Edge and is forcing everyone else to Hold The Rope that much more while your hands lay against your soft edges.
November 18th, 2010 at 11:17 PM ^
The first two or three hundred times I saw "hard edge" I thought it was kinda cool. But for some reason the next 450 times I read it it didn't have the same panache it once held. Now....the last 625 times it's been mentioned on the board I truly wanted to have unlimited neg powers to blast to ever-living-hell the wannabees who keep rolling it out like my 15 year old would.
Check that - my 15 year old would've gotten bored with the saying by now or would've learned to NOT use after ever sentence so he wouldn't totally annoy his audience.
November 18th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
I can't believe a post that mentioned pogs could possibly be in the negatives... Let the man have his edge however he wants it, and don't neg comments with trivial late 90's references that are so dear to me.
November 18th, 2010 at 11:54 PM ^
Pogs somehow completely slipped from my memory bank until now. I still don't relize the point of that game, but it was amazing.
November 18th, 2010 at 11:30 PM ^
Then again I haven't been on much this week so this is kinda new to me, therefore still cool. It could also have something to do with imagining Sgt. Slaughter or "Stone Cold" Steve Austin saying this, therefore making it cool.
Does this mean that I could find a quote from Rocky IV and start a new meme for next week? That movie's been playing in my head all day and I plan on watching that Friday to get hyped for the game. Best Rocky movie ever, despite the annoying ass robot toy.

Say, how well versed is he in the intracacies of the 3-3-5?
November 18th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
i think he mentioned that that was his progression thru grade school.
November 19th, 2010 at 1:00 AM ^
that way I wont be reminded to neg you everytime as it reminds me to neg you for you complete and utterly obsession with "Hard Edge''
November 18th, 2010 at 9:50 PM ^
He would get along great with Fred Jackson.

If you can't get pumped up by a coaching saying he thinks his team is ready to hit players from another institution of higher learning, then you sir, are dead inside. Go organized amateur athletics!
November 18th, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
He retired from Montana Tech yesterday! Maybe our next DC?
