Sadly, Denard will probably be the last one (to grace the cover of the NCAA CFB video game)

Submitted by MonkeyMan on

Here is a great story over on Yahoo about Denard being the last cover character on the NCAA CFB video game. It goes into how he really got into gaming early and saw his virtual and real world meet. Cool read if you like this human interest type stuff.

My apologies if it has already been posted or is off topic.

It's really hard for me to say that Denard is not perfect for any team other than Borges so...

He'd be perfect for this team and every team that cared about taking advantage of this beautiful man errr- I mean, like footballistically.

Cool story bro I know... But I played freshman Denard (when he was a relative nobody other than the one magical TD) in NCAA Football when visiting UM as a high school senior.

He was as approachable a guy as any UM alumnus. If this holds, he's as worthy as any.

Well until they figure out a way to put College Teams back into video games, I'm stuck playing 4 game seasons on NBA 2k16??? There's clearly an acceptable way to do it that doesn't create any issues with player likenesses.

Hate it all you want but there's a reason he only gained 39 yards on what 8 carries in the recent game he played and the fact nobody else believed in him at QB. Talking with WD at one point on Facebook he agreed he felt Tate was screwed and chased out of town, I truly believe he was better than Denard for the future of the program. Denard is a good public figure yes, but as a player? I don't see how you could say he was literally the only player worth watching, Roy Roundtree comes to mind, Brandon Graham, Donovan Warren... I really liked Steven Threet honestly, I liked a lot of players in that era. Just never really had a man crush on Denard because he literally only could tear it up against MACtion and occasionally a good school. (Not named ND)

So you like Roy Roundtree well who was throwing him the football 3 out of the 4 years he was here? Brandon Graham and Donovan Warren only had a one year overlap with denard so not the same era. Steven Threet really??? You don't have a fucking clue. Denard won the OSU game in 2011 stopped the losing streak. He beat down Nebraska in 2011. Led comebacks against nd in 10 and 11. Came out and wiped out uconn to open the 10 season. Quit spewing garbage he was the quarterback for the last Michigan team to win a bcs bowl and have double digit wins.

He didn't beat Ohio State, we beat Ohio State as a team. Didn't he bomb the other OSU games he played in? I'm just saying I'm not going to sit down and worship him like he's some god because he was not much more than an above average QB with terrible throwing mechanics. In the Big Ten you can't win consistently on speed alone. You act like a big team game here and there is worth mentioning. Alabama beat him down under your logic, yeah he was the QB on a team that beat Ohio State, which let me remind you started with a wide open Davier Posey who was overthrown on a wide open pass by 10 yards on the first drive by freshman Braxton Miller. ND is overhyped always. Really honestly to each is their own, but I think watching Denard drop back to pass made me want to shit bricks because I didn't know if it was going to be on the money or a pick 6.

You sir, need jesus. I shouldn't even entertain this, but I can't help myself. Tate came to U of M a finished product. He had a football tutor in high school. He peaked as a frosh. Similar measurables as Denard, but Denard was raw out of high school. Denard set records as a sophomore usually playing 3/4 of a game.

That's not sad to me. I'm glad he'll be the last ever. It's shaky ground now and was ruined by greedy kids that thought they deserved more than what they get. The new madden plays a lot like the last NCAA. Just make what you can of the jags.

I personally was never able to play a madden game I couldn't import draft classes to. I legit got so bored of Madden 13 I traded Stafford for a first round pick and won a Super Bowl with Jordan Jefferson on All Pro I'll probably stick with updated rosters for madden 25 and play until I hit the cap for years allowed. I want to go as far as I can with my Michigan dynasty I accidentally started over so I have updated NCAA rosters. I had 10 years down and struggled the first few Hoke years. Eventually my 5th year I had 3 lock down 99 OVR corner backs who went 1st, 2nd and 32nd overall in madden

I really honestly dislike the direction EA has taken with both of their football franchises and much preferred the mid-late 2000's releases. I mean depth and realism have their place and all of that, but I liked Madden a lot better when the interface was simple and I liked NCAA football a lot better when recruiting literally consisted of pointing and clicking

i love the point system in NCAA 14, with chances to upgrade your skills in the coaching skill tree.. it's simple yet visually appealing. The phone calls in 12 and 13 were cool. It took tons of time to recruit each week though, and losing out on a top recruit after spending so much time on them really sucked.
