Enis = Elite Speed

He's being looked at as an athlete (RB, Safety, WR).
Does he have a first name?
Curtis is all I can think of.
The recruit in question, I believe is Kiante Enis. Curtis Enis is a relation though - he had a couple good years at Penn State in the mid 1990s and was the 5th pick in the NFL Draft in 1998, as I recall. I don't think Curtis ended up doing much in the league, however, but I could be wrong on that one.
Kiante is nice. I had dinner with him and a census taker once. We had liver with fava beans. fuh fuh fuh fuh fuh fuh...
He definitely has an offer. I'll admit he looks like a middling prospect right now, but clearly the coaches saw something in him.
I will say, though, that a guy who can run that fast at his size is pretty rare. I do wonder about wind aiding and the like, since if you look at other recorded track times he's at least a half-second to a full second slower.
Can play multiple positions, good athlete. From the limited he played defense in his film, I like him as a safety prospect. But a guy with his athleticism can find a role.
I agree. With his size, he seems like a good safety prospect.
The "full second" slower times are preliminary times. Guys ease up (sometimes considerably) knowing they're qualifying. Those times are essentially meaningless.
Those times were from different meets. I know how track heats work, but at the same time the following week he ran a 10.94, which is a very good time but isn't nearly as impressive.
My point remains that he's probably a good athlete and he'd be welcome at UM, but looking at a single time and saying "OMG he's a stud" isn't the best barometer without relevant context.

10.59 is my cutoff, but that's just me.
for measurement precision alone...

The norms for post content need to be higher around here. Basically what the OP has given us is his thoughts and some unsubstantiated claims. We dont know where he got the information, and as someone who doestn follow recruiting (i.e., vagarious decisions of a teenager) closely, I dont know who Enis is. How about a link to a profile of Enis? How about a link to the track meet you mention? Have some consideration for your audience.
Here is the link if you'd like to see...

Did you always copy homework from other students in high school? Want me to make you lunch too while we're at it?

Very rare poster.
In about two mins of googlering I was able to find the same time on Milesplit Indiana. So unless they both got it wrong that's pretty much internet verified. Fast guy, we need that speed.
Click on the boys sprints on the right side.
I found a reference to other times at Athletics.net which point to this perhaps being an aberration time. Still plenty fast, but he probably wouldn't be a 3* RB if he could consistently run in the 10.5's at 6'1" and 200 lbs.
http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/Athlete.aspx?AID=8193908
he is a 3* due to the fact that he put up such good numbers against a very low level of competition from most reports. Schools didnt really start to realize how good a prospect he was till he started running legit times like this thread is talking about, realizing that it wasnt that he was just fast and all the guys he plays against are slow its that he is FAST and the guys he plays against just dont really stand a chance.
lunch sounds great thanks. i'll have a sammich.

I don't really see why you didn't just put that link in the opening post. Opening post has no first name and a last name that while not Smith or Jones level of common, isn't uncommon either.
Over the course of the thread, in multiple replies, you provide links and context that make the information relevant and useful, but your opening post is useless in terms of standing by itself. Or basically while b^3 might come off abrasive, the whole thing is avoidable with better formatting and more information included in the first post. Starting a topic and telling people to Google for information and context on the conversation you chose to start is just bad form.
He did say where he got the info, he is a HS track coach in the same state as the player is. He could have put more info in the post about who Enis is but there were definitely a couple of posts last week about him earning an offer and people beign confused because he is another RB and a 3 star with meh offers. Clearly the kid is fast, how that translates to the football field is unknown, but if the staff has the ability to develop athletes into football players then this is a promising sign.

1) remove the stick from your ass
2) learn how to use google/find information for yourself
Try to implement those things for a week and get back to me if you're not living a happier life!

I'll resond to you since you were the least douchey of the folks calling me douchey. The point is that if the OP has already looked up the info and is familiar with Enis, why make his audience do the work he has already done?
Think about this - one person taking about 2 minutes of time to provide links can save around 100 people from spending their time to do so. It makes perfect economic sense. I'm sorry I offensed the delicate sensibilites of folks around there by recommending this time-saving approach. Some of you all are really looking for an outlet for a surprisingly high level of anger. Get some help.
You weren't being a jerk. You were making a very good suggestion. You just made it in a forum with a lot of proudly self-righteous people. Ignore them; they simply have to sneer at one poster per thread, and you were the unlucky one this thread.
We need more of it.
Also, to those complaining about the post; could the OP have included a link or been more informative?..sure, but I'm jonesin' for football content and it's the offseason, so I'll take just about anything compared to some of these OT posts.
Maybe some explanation on who Enis is may help those on the board that are confused.

Did he drive the bus, wash the uniforms and sell popcorn too?
Sorta proves my point about lack of competition. Outside of middle school you rarely see a kid win the discus AND the 100...LOL

I agree that his competition is probably pretty low because neither the HJ or Discus numbers are very good, even for high school. However, as a multi-sport athlete, it's likely he doesn't dedicate a whole lot of time to either disc or high jump, meaning that height/distance is based on athleticism and strength, not technique.
I think this is a pretty good indicator that Enis is just a really good athlete. Which, for football purposes, is more important than anything else.
Well, the automatice/electronic timing described sort of, you know, takes no notice of the competition...and 10:5's are still REALLY damn fast, even if he had to drive the bus home.
My standard meet schedule in high school was:
High Jump
110M High Hurdles
330M Intermediate Hurdles
Discus or Long Jump or Shot Put or 100m or 200m or 400m or 400m relay or 800m relay or 1600m relay.
I went to a class A school that regularly put 3-4 guys in the state meet every year... and what he threw in discus would win about 2/3 of dual meets in Michigan.
The HJ numbers would win about 1/3 (about 1/4 of schools we competed against didn't even have someone that could jump opening height).
His 100m times are real good - there were only about 15 guys in Michigan last year that ran sub 11, and no one ran 10.6
Track speed doesn't always transfer to game speed in football, gotta find the position he's most comfortable in.
