Worst or Best?
It's hard to believe but after just 7 games (unless a miracle occurs), RR has established himself as either the WORST or perhaps, if the future is bright, the BEST Michigan coach in the last 50 years.
Right now, RR is the worst (no other coach has had a losing record since 1967 (Bump Elliott 4-6).
It will be a tall order to recover from this. Probably nothing less than at least 1 MNC and a future winning percentage of .800 will do it.
I have high hopes RR will do it!

You simply cannot judge a coach in their first season. Almost all of the players on the last team were recruited by the former coach. That applies to all coaches. If they were left with raw talent but cannot recruit for themselves, then they may end up a NC their first or second year and have an immediate collapes the following 3 years. Right now, we are the opposite. All of our good juniors left last year and we are left with a bunch of players that are young, inexperienced, just plain bad, or a combination of the three. As we recruit more talent and players gain more experience, then we will be able to judge what RR is really made of.
I didn't even want to talk about the new system because that has just been beaten to death since he was hired.

The only way you can judge a coach is by his record. Whether it is the first year or the 21st year.
Notice, I didn't even hint RR should be judged by one year. But, he has dug himself a deep hole that now he must figure out how to get out of (as opposed to just a 6-6 year, that would have been accepted by most folks that are screaming at the top of their lungs right now).

I can't believe I am about to write this:
Anyone want to voice your opinion of:
3-9, 9-2, 10-2 after 3 seasons???????
F me that I am hoping we are "just as good as nd" after 3 years.
Kill Me Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I was trying to say was: We're headed for 3-9 (perhaps worse, perhaps better). So, would we be terribly disappointed if M was 9-2 and 10-2 in the next 2 years (in any order)?
Same record as nd but in a different order. And, yes, it is worse to go 3-9 in your third season. But, in the end, the overrall record is the same after 3 years. And, ugh, we may have a worse record after 3 years of RR than nd had after 3 years of the whale.
BTW, Bo was 6-6 in 1984 (his 16th season). But, then he recovered nicely.

What you say is that you can only judge RR by his record even if it's his first year. Then you say that you didn't hint that he should be judged by one year. Are you reading what you type before you put it on the internet. That may be the most contradictory statement ever. I really had to go put a helmet on to read it.
Also, what is the point of posting your original topic. Who cares what he is judged on after seven games. I doubt most rational fans care. This is just blabbering out a pointless thread for the sake of blabbering out a pointless thread. I know you have an opinion, it doesn't mean you need to share it.

I doubt if anyone out there thought RR would already be classified as the worst coach for M in the last 50 years after 7 games.
That is simply a fact!
At this point he is. There can be no dispute.
He can turn that around but it is now a lot harder than if he had merely won 50% of his games this year.
I'm actually in Las Vagas this week on business. If I had to bet, (here come the flame wars), I'd take even odds on worst.

We've had 5 coaches over the past 50 years. Each coach before RR had at least 5 years to cement his legacy. Bo had 21 years, Lloyd had 13, Bump Elliott had 10, and Moeller had 5.
But hey, its cool, let's get out our Jump to Conclusions Mat at 0.5 seasons for RR.
