Thomas Rawls and his mom…

Thomas Rawls and his mom came into the retailer I worked at in the spring of 2011 so that she could buy him a high school graduation gift.  We talked about Brady Hoke and our mutual excitement that Michigan would be returning to smashmouth 3 yards and a cloud of dust Big Ten football. I kept a football in the warehouse that me and a couple of other guys would throw around. I considered grabbing it but then thought of how strange it was that I, a grown man, would be asking a high school kid to sign my football. After his 2015 Seahawks season I wished I would have had him sign that football.

As someone that lives in Flint

this is especially sad.  There are no other over-the-air PBS television available in much of the Flint area.  This will obviously affect those unable to afford cable or other means of obtaining educational children's programming.  I thought it was a shame when UM sold WFUM and am extremely disappointed with CMU.  I understand that a $13 million profit is impossible to pass up, but I'm still disappointed.

I named my dog Bo I get really annoyed when people assume it’s Beau.

Ex-d.c. Jim Hermann looks

quite a bit different these days but it's definitely not him commenting on the Twitter thread.

Great memories

I was a junior in high school and made a conscious decision to sit down and watch this game (partially to avoid yard work with my dad).  I was a huge Michigan fan growing up but hadn't watched many games since Elvis Grbac graduated (although I did attend the 1995 Michigan - Michigan State game in East Lansing with my MSU alumnus grandmother while wearing a Michigan Starter jacket - and got dirty looks from college kids in the MSU bookstore).  I watched every game that magical season and was completely obsessed thereafter.

Looks great

and Smiley's People is a great book. The Alec Guinness BBC miniseries is a very enjoyable adaptation as well.
