I read that the last play was actually an RPO, and that the Bama running back was open in the flat, but the snap was low which forced Milroe to run it.
I wonder if some of these guys putting their names in the portal are just fishing for the best NIL deal. If they don’t get better offers then what they currently have they will stay put.
I’m confused by this - typically a sign comes in from the side line then the QB looks at their wrist band and calls the play. So aren’t the signals from the side line actually a code indicating which number play it is on the wrist band? And wouldn’t every team switch the number associated with each play on the wristband every game to avoid sign stealing?
Can someone please explain this to me as I don’t understand how looking at one game’s signals helps in future games.
The team and the fan base are way too over confident. Too many fans and pundits are picking Michigan to win the B1G and many the National Championship. This is a sure recipe for at least 2 losses and a highly disappointing season.
UM’s enrollment has grown significantly in the last 20 years, to the point where in fall 2021 UM’s enrollment was over 50,000 and larger than MSU. I know it’s all about the mighty dollar but if I were all powerful I would (1) turn back the clock and limit the enrollment such that we don’t need all these new, really tall, apartment buildings to house the students and (2) put a lower cap on the number of out of state students admitted as the percentage of out of state students has also increased over the years. Yes, I’m old and miss the more intimate feel of the area from days gone by.
For coach B: When you were coaching in college what were the top 3 things you looked for in a recruit? If you were building a roster for an NBA team, would those three things be different?
For Livers: was there anything that you learned at Michigan that helped prepare you for the NBA more so than players from other schools?
I would say it really depends on what your kids are into. When my kids were that age, sitting around looking at scenery or just sitting around relaxing was not well received. If your kids are like mine, and they want to do stuff, then I would suggest the Traverse City area. I would also suggest booking a hotel right on the bay.
Doing so gives you beach access anytime. Most hotels there also have pools. Lots of places to rent boats and jet skis. Walking trails nearby. Downtown shopping, mini golf and go carts, can drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and other towns nearby like Elk Rapids, Leland, etc. But word of caution, it will be busy and with lots of other tourists If you want solitude, I would suggest the UP
Unless he’s been injured this year it’s unlikely that he would a big difference maker at a UM. He’s 7th on his team in terms of number of carries with 14 carries for 80 yards.
If he has serious aspirations for the Olympic track team then I doubt he wants to put on a lot of weight. It will be interesting to watch he and his future coaches decide to do with his weight and the position he plays.
Sounds like he has decided to enter the portal and not play the rest of the year. Anyone else wonder about going after a guy that drops out mid season? I trust Elston on so we shall see if there’s interest.
I was surprised by the number of stickers some players had before kickoff of the first game. Anyone have the story on how a player earns over a dozen stickers before the season starts?
If the TV deal is being signed does that mean that conference expansion is done for a while?
I know there were rumors that the new TV deal would net around $100 Million per team per year. This deal is well short of that. Will the Big 10 network make up the difference or was the original estimate just too optimistic?
on a similar note, when catching a fly ball during a game we would call out “mine” or “I got it” but my college roommate from Chicago would say “I go”. What’s common in your region?
For football I’ve been to Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Northwestern, and the Rose Bowl (against WSU though, not UCLA). Also been to future member ND.
Fun Harbaugh story that he told while the team was touring the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum - When Jack Harbaugh was on Bo’s staff in the early 70’s, little Jimmy would hang out at practices. When 12 year old Jim Harbaugh found out that Bo and President Ford were going to be playing in a Pro-Am golf outing together, Jim convinced Bo to let him be his caddie for the day!
Jim said he didn’t know anything about being a caddie, or much about golf etiquette as he said he walked in their line a few times, but he got to spend the day with Bo and the current President on the golf course.
Toured President Ford museum in GR yesterday, went Fowling last night, practice at EGR high school this morning, then on the Lake Michigan beach this afternoon ( Muskegon)
Payoff all the debt for everyone in my extended family and give them all some money - not so much that it changes who they are, but enough to make them happy.
Buy a lake house up north and probably also a place down south.
Retire
Book and pay for a fly-in fishing trip for me and a bunch of my friends, and probably schedule several more vacations for me and my friends.
Travel the world with my wife.
Just for starters,,,
Honest question - with the Big 10 expansion focused on high academic schools with good athletic departments is it possible that a bigger plan is at stake? With the way NIL is going and the shady reputation of the southern schools with regards to rules, could the Big 10 be looking to create a super conference with stricter, more enforceable rules than what we see in the current NCAA landscape?

Pete Carroll is available and wouldn’t even have to move.

My eldest son got me some Champions Circle Maize Ale from Holland Brewing. Good kid!
Parker was the second most deserving. Congrats to him.

Profile say he is 2025 not 2024
Underwood’s completion percentage doesn’t look great for being the #1 QB recruit. Anyone have any details on his performance?
The man can move! I wonder if UM has ever tried him at fullback?
Bet
Anyone that doesn’t have Yost at the top of football coaches at Michigan needs a history lesson.

Mel’s cooked. I’m sure he has hired good counsel but Mel has never had a very good defense.

And Notre Dame was the defending champions.

Last time there was a Michigan site where we received coordinated instructions on where best to attack or defend. Anything like that this time?

Hookers and blow are fine because there’s no receipt. Burgers with a receipt is just asking for it.
Blake is so good he deserves it twice!
Agreed but hopefully the snub keeps them motivated to prove everyone wrong.
When the ‘ole season is over, it will be Michigan again. Michigan.

He forgot to mention that Alabama was also favored against LSU and Tennessee.
When I get around to buying one and when I feel it’s time to take it down.
I guess Mikey will have to come back for another year!
No one from Purdue on any off those lists. Hopefully that opinion continues for at least one more week.
My thoughts exactly. Stroud had time but the coverage was great. Game of the year for the back 7

All previous Buckeye coaches since Woody have been fired. Hard for Day to pick any of them without getting some sort of blowback.
It could have been a game for the ages. Missed opportunity by moving the game.
Get well Cade, wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

Many people don't know this, but
according to lore, Notre Dame's
Leprechaun mascot has the
traditional Irish name of Owen.

Not sure if they are released yet but the MDen will be selling them.
I’m from Michigan and we always said play catch.

This is a GOJ post, certainly that is code for something! What could it mean?
