Successful kickers are…

Successful kickers are either:

-Dimwit who just kicks the damn ball (Sebastian Janikowski)

-Nerd who gives zero fucks but wants the scholarship or salary (Jason Hanson)

He is black and was reasonably gettable.

Moore had a legendary…

Moore had a legendary freshman season last year so it's quite a lot to ask that Sainristil have that type of impact.

A better comparison might be Dorien Bryant, the former Boildermaker who Moore was compared to coming in.

This is the internet. If we can only talk about things that have been "officially indicated" ...well, we're basically done here.

Yeah but you can't have people getting hit with wind. It might offend their delicate sensitivities.

Relatedly: When was the last time a fan or player was injured by inclement weather? Has a fan been struck by lightning or carried off to Oz by a tornado or what?

Why is the safety of the…

Why is the safety of the people at the stadium a top priority?

Last time I heard the “I’m…

Last time I heard the “I’m waiting to sign with my friends” thing it was Kevin Doyle and he ended up going to Arizona instead of Michigan.

For every Furbush and McCray…

For every Furbush and McCray there’s an Ondre Pipkins or Drake Harris who simply can’t get it going because of various ailments.

What I find interesting to talk about is what players contributed but never became stars like they should have because of injuries. There’s probably a ton we just assumed underachieved but were in reality gutting out constant injuries.

I’m pretty sure they call…

I’m pretty sure they call that stereotyping. Cultural appropriation would be if he made schnitzel himself. He’d be appropriating the schnitzel.

Paying college athletes will…

Paying college athletes will never work. It cannot work. There are simply too many obstacles within the present system to overcome, IMHO.

That being said, the NCAA needs to do better.

-Players should be guaranteed healthcare for the rest of their lives for any injuries sustained while playing for the NCAA.

-Player's scholarships should allow them to continue their educations after football, at least so they can come back and get their bachelors if they didn't finish it before leaving (in good standing)

-Marijuana testing should be immediately discontinued.

-Steroid testing should be increased substantially, if possible.

-Players should be allowed to accept external endorsement contracts so long as they don't use school gear in promotions and the fund are put in a trust until after college eligibility is up.

-Players should be allowed to sell their gear, but only after their college playing careers are over? This is already legal, right?

More to come...Anybody else have any ideas?

This is a take that comes up…

This is a take that comes up from time to time since Erik Swenson's offer was essentially rescinded prior to the 2016 signing day, and it's usually wrong.

It seems pretty clear Harbaugh's offers, especially to lower rated players, are contingent upon roster, grades, team needs, and continued improvement on the player's part.

If Warren was meeting all the criteria he would remain in the 2020 class. If Harbaugh thought he had a gem in Warren he would remain in the class. He's not remaining in the class. It will be OK for all parties involved. He has the entire 2020 recruiting cycle to find a proper fit and if he's a kid and recruit worth having, he will.

As a Maryland alum, I am satisfied with this firing. Time to move on and up (or hopefully at least sideways).

Hard to argue with that one.

Hard to argue with that one.

1. 32 and male.

2. All of them and every year since 2000-ish except when I was in Afghanistan, and even then I know I caught a few regular season games and the bowl game.

3. My significant other is completely cool with it because I made it clear at the beginning of our relationship (10 years now) it was nonnegotiable. I make an effort to do the things she wants to do the rest of the weekend when reasonable and we share the same pro-team fandom, so our Sunday’s revolve around the same team. I’ve taken her to 1 Michigan game in person (@ Purdue - we were traveling) and she enjoyed it.

You made the mistake of not making clear to her at the beginning of the relationship that missing Michigan games wasn’t negotiable (I’m assuming it’s not since you’re posting this), and now you’re paying the price. I have many friends who have gone down that same broken road, when it was so easily avoidable.

I’m not sure you can make it retroactively nonnegotiable but it’s worth a shot if that’s how you feel. If it IS negotiable, negotiate it at your peril.

CAVEATS: I don’t have many other indulgences that women dislike. Don’t smoke, play video games, drink excessively, go out with the “bros” overly frequently, etc. So it’s easier to have the indulgences I enjoy most.

Pay the mods something,…

Pay the mods something, anything, and they will do much better. You NEVER accept service for free because it will ALWAYS be bad service. Pay someone $1 a week before you pay them nothing. This is business 101.

It's like none of the people running or contributing this site have an ounce of business acumen. You're making either/or choices that aren't at all.

I'm consistently baffled by…

I'm consistently baffled by how poorly this site is run. Brian and the guys put out fantastic content and seem cool but they run this site as though they detest the very "customers" they presumably rely on for income. If Brian hired a business guy to actually run this site he could make a killing and probably have less stress. I can think of 10 ways off the top of my head he could monetize this place while still gaining traffic.

Honestly, I should just buy this fucking place.

Every one of his coaches

Every one of his coaches seems to imply he’s a talented but emotional head case. His quote about getting upset when he doesn’t make a play sounds like text book “I throw fits on the sideline when I don’t get the ball” double speak.

I gotta find the post from

I gotta find the post from years ago where I predicted Ways would be a bust after seeing him and his QB Tyler Wiegers play. I also said Wiegers wasn’t a quality D1 prospect or something to that effect and got flamed pretty hard. A quick google search turned up an interesting nugget about Wiegers transferring to Eastern Michigan that I must have missed at the time: http://www.thegazette.com/subject/sports/college/football/qb-wiegers-le…

This kid has something

Awesome logic. Michigan

Awesome logic. Michigan doesn’t need more options at quarterback, which would help mitigate injury concerns, they just need to make sure their quarterbacks never get hurt, which is impossible to control. You should be running Toys R Us.
