Thought for another few seconds, "wait, this guy looks like Desmond, but I watched Desmond when I was in middle school....hrm...but I would look old if I were in that photo and this guy looks far younger than I do...wait, is there a Desmond-look-alike-player that I just didn't notice from the 2023 team....no, this must be Desmond....damn I'm old..."?
We need Simpson in an NBA finals on a 10 day (or whatever call up he gets) contract. I just want him to throw his curve ball in at the least expected time and become a fan favorite, ala Spike Albrecht.
Honestly, they could. Purdue won't be as strong, though likely still a good team. FAU might have been close to a top big ten team last year and Dusty is setting his sights on exactly that goal, big ten championship, final four team, in year one. That's probably coach talk, but it could be done. Maybe Dusty is as good of a roster builder and keeper as advertised, his coaching staff seems experienced and believes in him. I would push pause on any projections, but also why say what we cannot do? Football recently surprised me....
Sadly they had about 3 to 4 incredibly high draft picks return to OSU. I'd rather have them bragging about their draft results then their team come November ...

Hire anyone with an internal or strong external reference to all these new analyst positions and have them all analysing their way back to relevance, while they sit on a job lined with potential and 5 stars. It maybe that the time has passed on this model, it may still work, but Day hired the right advisors to set up his system to build a Saban-like machine in the potential B1G vacuum...
