But what separates Bama/OSU/Clemson apart is that they bring in 5-star talent and make them better. It's not enough to just get Rashan Gary, the coach needs to turn him into the defensive powerhouse that we expected him to be.
Luke Fickell would be a great hire for MSU. But if I'm Fickell, I'm avoiding the dumpster fire that is the MSU athletic department and holding out for something a bit more stable.

But keep an eye on hot G5 jobs that open up when their coaches go to P5 jobs. I don't see Creighton going to P5 any time soon, so a good G5 program might want some stability instead of getting their coaches poached off every few years.
If they're looking for a replacement, Luke Fickell at Cincinnati would probably be their best best. Can't go wrong with another Tressel disciple from Cincy.
