Getting guys like Donaldson is fine when it’s your first year and you inherited a roster with 3 players on it, one of whom (Jace) is not a Big Ten player. If you’re relying on guys like Donaldson going into your sixth season? Thats more of a problem.

I think on the podcast they mentioned that portal-built teams were around .500 this year. If we’re .500 on the season and competing for a NIT bid I’ll be happy. May didn’t offer him a scholarship, Juwan did. He’s got a major rebuild ahead of him and if he has the opportunity to use that scholarship on someone that can actually contribute at this level then he should use it.
Tell him he can stay as a walk on and finish his degree. He's not a major conference player, he shouldn't be taking up a scholarship when we're in desperate need for bodies that can contribute at this level.

They had a lot of close losses last year, and the year before that. Howard’s record in close games is atrocious. It’s a trend of teams not being able to perform in late game high pressure situations, not a sign of a team that was close to being good.
Isaiah Todd and Josh Christopher are great early examples of Juwans completely flawed recruiting approach. When pretty much every other power is staying away from these guys, it’s probably for a reason.

The issue I, and I'm guessing many others, take is in media outlets like The Athletic and others making it out to be the scandal of the century when in reality it's a minor offense even per the NCAA's own rulebook. So I have no reason to doubt the accuracy of what Quinn reported. Him threatening to slap his son and creating a culture of fear should've resulted in him being shown the door sooner. I know Michigan State lets Izzo get away with whatever he wants but we should strive to be better than places like that.
Given what we know about the histories of the two individuals involved, I’m inclined to believe Sandersons account is pretty close to the truth. Sanderson has never been had any other issues that we know of, while Juwan has gotten into multiple altercations with multiple different people. It’s kinda hard to mistake a guy charging at you and needing to be held back as anything but a guy looking for a fight. That should’ve been the last straw for Juwan given his other previous incidents.
I think Warde made a business decision here. He saw that ticket sales were plummeting and there was likely no chance things would get better with Juwan at the helm. But the notion that this firing couldn’t have justifiably been made sooner is false.
