Yes. We can still run on first down, but it needs to not be a dominant tendency and the passing game has got to be enough of a threat that the stacked box becomes a rare sight, and one that is severely punished when it appears...
I have few worries about the defense. It will be solid. It will not be invincible, and truly invincible defense doesn't exist in College Football anymore.
If I have a worry at all, it's the offense. It HAS to be dynamic. It MUST be able to score quickly. It MUST be balanced enough to keep defenses honest. It MUST use tempo to take advantage of mismatches. It cannot take its foot off an opponent's throat for even one drive, especially against OSU.
OSU spends all season practicing for Michigan. Sometimes a tomato can gets lucky and upsets them earlier in the season. OSU didn't lose another game before or after Purdue last year...OSU were just caught with their pants down, on the road, at night, in a hostile environment, against a lesser opponent they thought would roll over and play dead...and didn't quite know how to react when the opponent didn't cooperate.
I smiled and cackled with more than a little glee watching Aaron Shea take out 3 Wisconsin defenders on that TD play. Warms the heart, seeing that play again.
The best thing that could happen is for his replacement to be a U-M Alum, but I would take a neutral person from a different conference. Please, just no Sparties or Buckeyes.
And it's well-deserved. I would boo him, too, were I there. I can't stand what has become of the NFL and can barely watch a game anymore. Congrats to Tom Brady and the Patriots but the league is just not that interesting anymore.

Dammit
And score a LOT.
I loathe USC nearly as much as BlowSU and Notre Lame...
but very, very fast!
Having an offense that can hang on to the ball and move the chains when needed will improve the defensive numbers, too.
crickets

oh...that's a shame... ; )
Like Leroy Hoard...if we need 1, he'll get us 3. If we need 5...he'll get us 3.
Understandable. I'm a little verklempt here, too.
This is great news for the Red Wings. Bring the Cup home again, Captain.
Brutus the Buckeye's stupid, stupid, grinning face should adorn all the toilets in Schembechler Hall.
I'm no doctor, but you may want to get that checked out ; )
embarrassing
I agree. At least the bumblebee throwback uni had some precedents from the early years of Michigan football. That Sparty uniform is a full-on eyesore.
*BARF*
Meh. I'm not bothered at all. It's the spring game.
Why give BlowSU anything at all to start preparing for?
Just keep working and improving.
I hope the new offense is what all the BPONE sufferers have yearned for since Lloyd's days:
An unstoppable offense that just outscores top opponents when needed and grinds lesser opponents to dust.
yikes. that's a delicate part of the body. wishing her well...
What can a person say but that this is typical and hardly surprising, given how MSU Regents have handled the whole Nassar thing.
Yes. Unless you're wearing Scarlet and Grey and playing in front of refs hand picked by Jim Delaney, of course.

They will never, ever, do that in Ann Arbor.
Or as Bo's hero and role model, George S. Patton said about his offensive strategy with regard to the Wehrmacht:
"TAKE 'EM BY THE NOSE AND KICK 'EM IN THE ASS!"
Don't forget the rubber nipples!
Yeah, I like the idea of him catching the ball out in the flat, trucking a corner, then dragging bodies with him for 10 or more yards...

We would be as relevant as the Big East in Football. Or worse.

Please God no fucking Buckeyes or Sparties for his replacement...
Donuts on their lawn at 3AM
How did I respond? Not very well, I'm afraid. Something like this comes to mind:
I don't know if my neighbors heard, it but I did take a crap so big my pants fit better afterward.
it's a long time until fall camp...
F*** Rutgers

And Charles White FUMBLED before crossing the plane
And Charles White FUMBLED before crossing the plane
YES!!!!
Hurrah for the Yellow and Blue
Michigan hasn’t had an elite RB in so long that people have forgotten what one looks like.
Yeah, here's an example of what an elite RB looks like in Maize and Blue.

An interesting hire. I hope it works out, it seems like an intelligent one from the standpoint of organizational alignment in the coaching staff
At least we can count on the NCAA for a thorough investigation.
*snort*
my my, what a surprise...never saw that coming...[snark]
Skrepanek WAS a lot of fun to watch! He didn't block so much on run plays as just run people over...a true pancake machine.

Don't forget Chet Lemon, Jack Morris, Lance Parrish, Dan Petry, Milt Wilcox, and Willie Hernandez...
