Michigan top 20 to 25?

Michigan top 20 to 25?

Michigan has the 6th most championship game appearances.

Michigan has the 10th most Final Four appearances.

Who are these 20 to 25 schools above Michigan?

That's not exactly true,…

That's not exactly true, because Michigan is going to win it again next year.

If MGoBlog doesn't get a new banner, can Lake Michigan be added to the map in the lower left corner? It irks me that Michigan's namesake Great Lake is missing, as if it's been filled in.

Of course, in the men's…

Of course, in the men's basketball, in 1989 Michigan won the NCAA championship and the Pistons won the NBA championship. This has also happened a few times for California with UCLA and the Lakers, not sure of any other examples.

Plus, Michigan. 15-0,…

Plus, Michigan. 15-0, national championship, first team at any level to reach 1000 wins.

People always say this, but…

People always say this, but Jim has something that John doesn't have, which is an FBS Championship. Given that there are 130+ FBS teams, and you generally only keep star players for two or three years, it a much greater accomplishment to will an FBS Championship. Most NFL coaches aren't even in control of their roster, the teams are mostly built by the GM and scouts.

Isn't Las Vegas favored to remove the interim tag from Antonio Pierce and keep him as head coach?

Reminds me of late 2014 in the final days of Harbaugh's tenure and the speculation that he would coach at his alma mater. I sometimes used to listen to the Mike & Mike Show on my commute into work, and whenever the Harbaugh to Michigan topic would come up, Mike Golic would repeatedly smugly proclaim "No a chance!".

“49-2-2”

Michigan played 60 quarters of football. 49+2+2 only equals 53. Plus, your breakdown by quarter, added together, shows 43-9-8 (which actually does add up to 60). Am I missing something?

"Both he and Will had had an interception but Mike's was returned for 84 yards which led to 7 points. Will's led to three."

Mike and Will don't play offense so how is it relevant how many points followed their interceptions? They don't have any control over that. Also, Will's interception was a much more difficult, acrobatic catch, and probably more impactful.

Hail to the Victors!

Oops, double post.

Hail to the Victors!

Hail to the Victors!

Interesting. In 1995,…

Interesting. In 1995, Lemming had Tom Brady ranked as the 6th best pro-style quarterback, which probably translates as 4 star. Bobby Sablehaus was the top ranked pro-style quarterback, and his choices were down to Florida and Michigan. He picked Florida, and as a result, Tom Brady was Michigan bound.

That's the biggest question:…

That's the biggest question: How can Florida State go from #4 to #5 after beating the #15 ranked team, especially after the #1 team fell five spots? In every other instance, that team would move up one spot to #3, not drop one spot to #5. It's bonkers.

Yes, I’ve seen recoveries…

Yes, I’ve seen recoveries after the whistle was blown in similar situations. I don’t know why that is so controversial, even Dean Blandino agreed with that aspect of the play.

Ohio State (58%) has a better chance than if Michigan loses to Iowa (50%)?

Makes no sense. That's basically punishing Michigan for playing an extra game in the Big Ten Championship Game.

This is what I don't…

This is what I don't understand about Fox. Do they seriously want Michigan to get hammered by the Big Ten and NCAA, possibly pushing Michigan to leave for another conference not covered by Fox?

It's weird how the media and…

It's weird how the media and fans ignore the fact that the SEC only plays eight conference opponents and all of them play FCS opponents.

Alabama is going to play FCS Chattanooga

Arkansas played FCS Western Carolina

Auburn played FCS Samford

Florida played FCS McNeese State

Georgia played FCS UT Martin

Kentucky played FCS Eastern Kentucky

LSU played FCS Grambling State

Ole Miss is played FCS Mercer

Mississippi State played FCS Southeastern Louisiana

Missouri played FCS South Dakota

South Carolina played FCS Furman

Tennessee played FCS Austin Peay

Texas A&M is going to play FCS Abilene Christian

Vanderbilt played FCS Alabama A&M

The last time Michigan played an FCS team was in 2010, and all SEC teams do it on a yearly basis.

A couple important things…

A couple important things you are missing. If Michigan left for the ACC, 1) the money would go up in the ACC and 2) go down in the Big Ten. You think Fox and NBC are going to pay the same without Michigan in the Big Ten?

Actually, JJ threw a pass in…

Friends @umich I’m going to sleep. You should too. Even if the judge has finished her writing, it’s not clear there is somebody to file it and put it on pacer (court doc system) until the am. But justice will prevail for @CoachJim4UM and @UMichFootball. You will see.#Goblue

That's a good point. Petitti…

That's a good point. Petitti is new to the Big Ten, new to college football (and college sports in general), and doesn't have any experience dealing with the NCAA. I don't think the other Big Ten ADs and coaches would have pulled this if there was more experienced leadership.
