"Bo Jackson is about 19 months away from being able to sign anywhere, but with his connection to Tony Alford, it seems clear that the Buckeyes are going to be involved throughout the entire process."
Not sure if serious? God I hope not. Can we stop pretending like our words have power over other people's actions? People have power over themselves, period. Stupid people do stupid things, and no amount of censorship will change that.
STOP. No one is forcing these kids to play a game while they go to college. They are chasing a dream and putting in the effort for those millions of dollars of rewards once they leave and go to "work". Just because you don't agree with the school's policy, doesn't mean you have to go inflating an issue into the realm of fiction just because your team might not win some games. Grow up.
I don't know your history of posts, but I'm assuming they contain a lot of you being offended on behalf of other people. I would also be willing to bet that you haven't laughed in about a decade. There is an awful lot of virtue signaling going on today and part of that is being so racist and elitist that you think you have to be a champion for others who you think are not capable enough to handle their own business. I'm not saying that was your intention but "there is enough history around this practice, I felt it worthwhile to make a call to try to be aware and be better."
You take that back! This is a horrible country filled with horrible people and any other country is better than this one with more reasonable and compassionate people! Racism has been completely eradicated everywhere but here! In other countries they are so much more tolerable to other races, religions, and political beliefs that I just can't believe this country stops us from escaping to these places. There is a utopia that starts just outside of the hateful borders of our country, wraps around the globe and ends at the entrance to our other borders!
Stop using words that do not relate. While a case could be made that the policy might be fueled by xenophobia at some level, there is nothing about the policy that could allow for a legitimate claim of racism. This would not have effected anyone differently due to their race.
Explain how racism is involved? I'm pretty sure citizens of this country are of all races but I could be mistaken. You can make quite a few claims or statements of why this would be a bad policy but race does not need to be involved in that discussion. We need to pull back on these wide cast nets and stick to a focused argument surrounding these issues. It tends to take away credibility when there is a legitimate concern.
Well we should look at all the facts here because Sweden's loose Covid response isn't a perfect correlation to the number of deaths that have occurred. It's not a simple "Didn't shut Down=More Deaths" according to this article from Forbes. It also was not the worst effected country according to the article.
The following excerpt from the article is interesting to say the least but also disturbing:
"The implication here is that Sweden chose to emphasize personal responsibility, but when the choice led to increased infections among the elderly, medical professionals seem to have taken on the responsibility of choosing who likely lives and dies.
Given that the analysis finds not all the nation’s ICU beds were occupied, it’s not even clear that this was necessary."
And also why we can't call this an open and shut case of what should have been done:
"The result of the unique approach was less catastrophic than many predicted, despite the increased death rate. The country had three times as many deaths per capita compared to Denmark, Finland and Norway as of May 15, but it fared better than the United Kingdom and Spain while also lessening the economic impact of the pandemic."
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means" I think we are really broadening the use of the word offended. I don't think the majority of those in favor of keeping the names or mascots are "offended" by their removal. I see more annoyance than anything. You will know when someone is offended and a snowflake by a few qualities:
They scream at the top of their lungs to make sure their voice is the loudest because the loudest opinion is the right one.
They often interrupt and silence those with an opposing opinion because words from opposing opinions can actually do physical harm and potentially kill them.
They often use the same phrases over and over and over but cannot expound upon the meaning because context doesn't matter and is offensive in and of itself.
Are Spartans considered in the same group as animals? Or are they highly regarded for their ferocity and cleverness in battle? Are Cowboys, minutemen or Vikings grouped with animals? I don't think your correlation holds up. I could make the same argument that teams were named after animals or groups of people that exemplified admirable traits that seem to lend themselves to a physical and competitive sport. I'm not saying one way or the other if the names should be changed because I don't belong, to the best of my knowledge, to any of these groups in question. I'm just questioning the validity of this particular argument
Was the internet broken before 2015? Were there any cases of this abuse that everyone is so afraid of? We chose to expand the already too large government reach on a "what if" that capitalism is already set up to handle.
Why are you shitting in front of old white men? Ummm...were there other old men but just the white one was offended? Were there men of varying ages but only the old white one was offended? Who else was present at the time of the shitting? So many questions! Do you often go from 0 to 100 instantly?
My advice to you is to be careful which comments your are responding to and with what tone you are responding to them. You attached your statement against a comment discussing the negative of booing fans.
I also think you do not understand the meaning behind coach Harbaugh's statement. It doesn't mean that you cannot have negative reactions to plays, playcalling, mistakes, or any other part of the game. That's being an involved fan. It does mean that you support the team and the players even when those negative events happen. Booing our players is not supporting the team or constructive in any way. Speaking negatively about young kids trying their best is not supporting the team. I'm not saying you do either of these, just stating my piece toward the fanbase in general.
Also, my wrath was directed to your post because it had that feeling of entitlement that I find so infuriating, not only in sports, but in other forums as well. So my pent up rage came out in this one comment. My apologies.
1. Booing the team you are there to cheer on is distasteful and disrespectful to a bunch of kids who owe you jack shit
2. It's laughable that you think YOUR questioning or any questioning by any other "fan" will bring "self-reflection" or evolution to the football team. That is just plain idiotic.
3. Not only do you NOT have a right but you definitely do NOT have a responsibility in this whatsoever. Are you on the staff? Do you get paid?
This is the main problem with "fans". They think the team owes them something. They think we as fans are somehow a part of something we should have control over. Straight up delusions. I was waiting for a /s at the end...and it never came.
I believe very strongly that there is no nothing any of us can think of to offset any weakness this team may have that has not already been thought of, tried, and tested by the Michigan staff. I however see no problem with allowing us to discuss what those changes might be as we are not privy to them behind the curtain. Even if I did, I wouldn't dream of being as rude and classless toward a fellow fan as you just were. May a million negs grace your account and haunt your dreams.
Yeah but when you are going from Ohio St to UM, it's like saying you enjoyed eating dog shit your whole life but then someone gave you a steak and you never looked back. If you ate steak your whole life and someone gave you dog shit to eat...you're still going back to the steak.

Soooo, not sure but I think "Anything" to do with Santa is going to be fulfilled by die hard.
NJ.com has picked up this news story and is making outlandish claims! Not necessarily in response to Shea's approval or non-approval but in reality.
"Rutgers was competitive with Michigan last season in a 35-14 loss in Ann Arbor."
This gave me a good chuckle.

I think people are taking your post all wrong. Tone often times is not represented well in text so I've added a visual to hopefully help.
Of course they are. Don't be ridiculous.
I just want to know who the softie is on here that gave an upvote to the OP. You've done your good deed for the day, I'll report it to santa for you.

Great, now I'm hungry.
They may put on a tough front but inside they are all....
Harbaugh was leaking the plays to AF through someone on counterstrike to see how his players would respond and how resilient they would be.
Not sure if we're right but I agree 100% and thought the exact same things myself on the re-watch.

Nothing there to be impressed by at the line as he is hardly touched but what he does in space is pretty nifty.
Nailed the absurdity of the OP in your post. I really wish I had more upvotes for you but I don't have multiple accounts....or do I? :)
No I actually dont sorry.
Instead of saying "not to threadjack", just say, "to threadjack". It means the same.
