I suppose you're correct in…

I suppose you're correct in a way.  But they can't establish that mindset with a coach and staff who doesn't fit into that mentality.  Your DC - who you guys love for some odd reason - has only forced one punt in the second half of both Michigan games he's coached in. Combined.

Day is incredibly soft.  He's got Matt Cassano shielding him from the Columbus peer pressure and backlash.  His All Big 10 QB wasn't Stroud-level, so Day gets happy feet and he bolts.  Your new QB would do well just to match McCord's numbers from last year.

Your WR coach can't get a functional blocking WR coached up, and your OLine can't free up anyone but Trayanum (who bolted).

Keep, uh... "establishing" whatever that is supposed to be, I guess.

If I'm not mistaken in the…

If I'm not mistaken in the two games that Knowles has coordinated against Michigan, Michigan's offense punted once in the second half.  Of both games combined.

As someone who actually…

As someone who actually knows the dirt on Tressel and Pryor - the 350Z was actually one of the last cars he had... after he totalled his previous car in the WHAC parking lot late at night/early in the morning.  He totalled it into a female athlete's car (volleyball player if my memory is correct) and Tressel was nearly immediately called and got it all swept away.

The Nissan followed that.  Pryor went through a ton of cars during his OSU days.

Yes, the "tattoos scandal" was about much, much more than mere freebie tattoos. That's just what the public heard.  You don't earn a show cause for free tattoos.

I watched game #1 on that…

I watched game #1 on that terrible app, discontinued it, watch the rest on other services now. Peacock is awful.

I can't believe anyone would keep it. It was a money grab.

Despite the downvotes, I do…

Despite the downvotes, I do agree with you that he (or his staff that connects with admissions) needs to start understanding admissions better.  He seems to think throwing bodies towards admissions is going to get them to look up from their desks.  It's not working so far.

You are helping make his…

You are helping make his point for him.  It's obvious Beilein knew the pinch-points much better than Howard and navigated them.

One word I find amusing - …

One word I find amusing - "decimated" only meant to eradicate approximately 10% of something. Now it's used as if it means all-encompassing destruction.

It would be great for…

It would be great for Michigan if he chose to play for UM but he needs to follow his heart.  That said I'm not sure that's a great game for him to visit.. if it's Colorado he's interested in.

I have the same feeling as others here do - that TCU is not great this year and they still almost won that game.  The passing yards from Sanders was "meh" for me, knowing TCU's weakness on D is pass coverage.

Then again, Lincoln Riley does seem to have the early, pre-2021-Harbaugh-itis in "bigger games," though, so we'll see.  I still think back to that USC/Utah game last year.  Sanders may out-coach him in their upcoming game - it might be another shootout.  It'll definitely be the spectacle, and Sanders would love to secure Underwood and toss him the bag.

Clemson's rise wasn't due to…

Clemson's rise wasn't due to QB-play alone.  They also churned out incredible defenses - particularly D-Line.  They started losing coordinator continuity as well.  Swinney's teams started to get good after he homogenized the coordinators and they were able to keep them paid and staffed for years.

They also kept the church pews stuffed with cash, apparently.  Now that everyone can pay what Clemson used to pay it's harder for them.

I just want to ask - did you…

I just want to ask - did you happen to watch the Clemson/Duke game?  Clemson isn't nearly as outright-bad as people here are making it seem.  They blew multiple touchdown opportunities and handed Duke that game, for the most part.  For me, it was akin to Michigan losing to Michigan State in 2021.  A loss that probably shouldn't have happened, and doesn't, nine times out of ten.

Uh, that and the whole …

Uh, that and the whole 'Terrelle-Pryor-totaling-his-car-in-the-middle-of-the-night-into-another-female-student-athlete's-car-in-the-WHAC-parking-lot,' which he swept under the rug.  Both of those cars were write-offs.

And a litany of other things the general population knows nothing about.  Tressel was just better at hiding his scumbag-ness than Meyer.

That's too bad.  It's a…

That's too bad.  It's a great watch.  The scenes about the Kodak Carousel and the Hilton relationship are some of the finest hours of this show.

I have the Pixel 7 Pro.  I…

I have the Pixel 7 Pro.  I run/own my own small business, and use Google's app interfaces for quite a bit of what we do (scheduling/navigating, etc.).  Car connectivity is absolutely a must and Android Auto is phenomenal - especially the new tiled version.

In my studio I work mostly off of an iMac Desktop machine (albeit a very nice one), so I'm definitely also a fan of Apple products.  We also have a very expensive render farm PC machine that we use.  I'm a fan of using the best tool for the job, I guess.  I couldn't care less about the brand if it's going to help my business, help my peace of mind, help my family life off the clock.

That said, Pixel phones are better actual, daily use phones.  In my estimation, time is very much money, and for years Apple just got by with the fact that the iPhone was good looking, and had the best camera.  Android phones just kept innovating, kept adding useful features - that I deem modern luxuries - that really highlight the single best feature a phone should add to your life - helpful intuition.  The iPhone just kept skating by, releasing non-updated versions that really didn't do much to advance their phone, while Google, Samsung, etc. kept innovating until they had surpassed Apple's phone.  Then they went to work on their camera.  Now I think my Pixel 7 Pro has as good, or better video and camera lens than the iPhone.  If you want the most beautiful OBJECT - get the iPhone.  Sure.  But they do not make the best phones anymore, by a fairly clear margin.

The iPhone also uses such out-of-date texting tech that Google finally went public, pleading with them to modernize and come to terms with the current tech.

This is what I thought of as…

This is what I thought of as well, then came looking for it since I can't be the only one.

Always Be My Maybe.

Always Be My Maybe.

The wife and I didn't know anything about this going in, and it was the best way to catch this one. What a riot.

Yeah, their are some uh, odd…

Yeah, their are some uh, odd people on this forum that think they're above the rest of the us.

This year he is being shady…

This year he is being shady and unfair to the players, admin, commits, and assistant coaches. After building his rep on integrity and being the anit-Saban/Meyer in CFB, he looks like the rest of the mercenary coaches out there rn.  He gave his word that the flirtation was a one time thing, and he later gave his word that he'd be coaching the team in 2023.

No matter the outcome, he has lost a ton of goodwill and credibility with potential future staff members, recruits, and the administration as a whole, specifically given the wishy-washy, "no man knows the future" word play.  He is damaging his rep and the stability of the program rn.

You don't know any of this with any certainty at all.  How do you know he's being "shady?"  This fanbase and administration treated him like a lost cause fairly recently, and he backed himself up in a way that's very difficult to do.

Ah.  Okay.  Thanks - I was…

Ah.  Okay.  Thanks - I was concerned you wouldn't chime in with some attempted addendum.  I was under the impression that I was one of the posters here that are "sad and remembering" Ken Block, rather than interjecting with how outrageous the OP's post was, how incomplete it is, OT it is, and that gosh-darnit I have zero clue who this guy is, 'cuz I'm a NASCAR guy myself.

Also - your credibility on this took a decent hit.  You clearly don't follow F1 much because if you believe almost anything that F1 puts out, I have some ice to sell you, eskimo andrew.

So "questionable superlatives" are out, but lamentable negatives are in.  Nothing says remembrance like some posthumous "who dats."

Yes, easily.  Ken Block was…

Yes, easily.  Ken Block was internationally famous and recognized physically.  He's raced globally in WRC, Rallycross, the X-Games, Pike's Peak, etc.

I already posted this, but his 10-year-old Gymkhana video has 113 million views.

I typed Jeff Gordon into Youtube and the most-viewed video with him on the first page had 1.2 million views.

I typed 'Nascar Daytona 500' into Youtube and the most-viewed video with him on the first page had 1.2 million views.

I typed 'Dale Earnhardt Jr.' into Youtube, and the most-viewed wasn't even of him directly.  It's of his father's fatal crash.  6.5 million views.

The biggest Verstappen video I can find on the first page is 6-million something.  Yes, I know who Max Verstappen, Charles LeClerc, Fernando Alonso, Juan Pablo Montoya, Kimi Raikkonen is.  Just like I very clearly know who Ken Block is, despite having never watched a rally event in my life.

There may be more famous NASCAR drivers or Indy 500 drivers than Jeff Gordon, but those are the biggest I can think of (and I don't even know if either race anymore).  I'm not going to spend more time looking and hunting, but there isn't anyone on the planet that put two hands on a steering wheel that more people laid their eyes on than Ken Block.

I don't understand why…

I don't understand why people are upset the OP for his thread title and body copy.  Do you need the OP to follow you around and spend the 10 seconds to type all nine keystrokes of Ken's name (space included) into search engines for you?

This fascination with titles, subject lines, etc. here is one of the weirdest things this blog has going... and there's a lot of weird here.

One of Ken Block's 10-year-old 'Gymkhana' videos has 113 million views.  Just spending that 10 seconds typing it into Google, and his least-viewed Gymkhana video in the first Youtube results has 26 million views.  Whether you like it or not, he was the biggest name in all of motorsports and it's actually impressive you've never heard of him.

I'm sure there's another battle to be waged with the Gods of Brevity somewhere on MGoBlog.  I'll leave you to it.

Ken Block was easily the…

Ken Block was easily the most famous person behind any steering wheel for at least the last 4-5 years, if not more.  This is a big loss for the racing/automotive world.

Saw this yesterday - insane…

Saw this yesterday - insane news, but not that surprising if you've watched almost any of his Hoonigan videos.  I agree with others - he definitely lived his life on the bleeding edge and it's hard to make a long run at it that way.  If he had been more careful though, it's likely no one would know of him as well and he wouldn't have positively affected as many people.

This is just incredibly tragic news that's so sad even past what his family must be going through to lose him so suddenly around the Holiday season.  He was a generational businessman and racer - hard to swallow how many people working for him that are being being affected by this news in the coming days.  He had a huge footprint well beyond his family.

Your "doctor friend"…

Your "doctor friend" laughing about strangers taking precautionary measures means that your doctor friend is an out-of-touch prick.

Proof that being a doctor doesn't mean you're smart. They just put up with residency and redundancy more than most would.

Pretty crappy.

You, uh... may need to take…

You, uh... may need to take a lap.  You're not coming off well in this thread.  You good, bud?

Tim shot the silver bullet…

Tim shot the silver bullet. Charles drove the stake through the heart.

We absolutely knew his…

We absolutely knew his Freshman season.  The coaching staff did everything thry coukd to temper him, but ultimately they couldn't keep him off the field.

His two INT's against OSU were killers for them after Terry Glenn ran his mouth off earlier in the week, guaranteeing the win and downplaying Charles.  That OSU team is the most stacked team they've ever fielded. Eddie George, Glenn, Shawn Springs, Vrabel. The list goes on and on. Even Luke Fickell was on that team.

Woodson's picks gutted them, especially the one he snagged after stepping in front of Glenn.  I was there that day.

We absolutely knew his…

He's definitely a superstar in the making, but there have been a number of collegiate Eric Berry, Jalen Ramsey, Patrick Peterson, Dre Bly types. There was one Woodson.

We'll see. To me, it's up to Will himself, because personally I think he can go there.

Technically, yes, I believe…

Technically, yes, I believe so.  There may be some doctrine about length, etc., and that may have to do with the tang, whether it's full-tang through the handle, etc.  But if I were you I'd check it out.  They'll have little hesitation tossing addendum charges on him if it is in fact "concealed."  You can also read on what is considered concealed vs. open-carry on knives.  There's some detailed info there too.

EDIT - I forgot to mention - I think I've read/heard there might be a strict law in place about double-edges on blades.  You may need a license for double-edged blades, concealed or not.

Last year one of the OSU…

Last year one of the OSU team busses broke down in the snow on 23 South on the way back. We passed it.

If you don't know that he…

If you don't know that he must dye that thing daily, there's no hope for you.  It's gotta be the fakest-looking beard in cfb. His reminds me of that SF Giants closer's beard a few years back.  Also dyed black.

No. You're just saying the…

No. You're just saying the quiet part out loud. It was/is entirely obvious.

I'm thrilled he's doing well…

I'm thrilled he's doing well.  He's been in the wine business since at least 2001.

Yeah. Sir? Sir? We need help…

Yeah. Sir? Sir? We need help. Our McCarthy is broken. Send help.

Edwards went to West…

Edwards went to West Bloomfield, did he not? There are people in here acting like he didn't have a comprehensive enough education and upbringing in this world and may not "understand."

That school has a large Jewish population, or did at least.  He knows what he did.

In real time, myself and…

In real time, myself and everyone watching it with me were wondering why there wasn't a targeting review from the officiating crew.  It was, and remains very clear.

Context - I own a small…

Context - I own a small business that's based out of my home (my property is zoned Residential/Commercial), and before that I worked for a different firm that was based out of my former employer's home.

That's not my issue to take, but if it was I don't have a problem with working from home - in fact I find it amusing how my friends faux-hated it at first but now have joined in with the masses and seemingly love it.  I don't think I could ever, under any circumstances, work for someone else again, nor would I ever work in a building or setting I don't control or own/operate.  That aspect is just too nice.

I do find it significantly harder to hire the younger workforce (which we try to do, because of our field), but I don't think that has as much to do with post-pandemic workplace situations as it does with "other" issues that are becoming embedded into society.

My employees need to be in-house, apart from my controller.  There's too many layers to sift through as they produce incredible work.  Too many collaborative cues that would get missed over a digital meeting.

I guess I'll echo that I think a lot of this stuff has been around for decades - just under an older catchy acronym or catchphrase.  Hiring the younger generations has always been difficult for every employer.

This. It's really…

This. It's really confounding.  Funny for us, but silly.

I'm (sort of) worried that…

I'm (sort of) worried that OSU will come to its senses and fire Holtmann and hire Matta's old assistant Jeff Boals away from Ohio U.  He's doing better in Athens than Holtmann is in Columbus.

Yeah.. He ran a clean…

Yeah.. He ran a clean program, yet somehow pulled Conley and Oden early in his tenure on virtually no credentials or basis whatsoever?  At a school that sucked at basketball?

Mmhmmokaysure.gif.

"Trickeration" has been…

"Trickeration" has been around since the good 'ole days of Stuart Scott, Olbermann, Mayne, Levy, Eisen.

And it might pre-date them as well. It's as cool as the underside of the pillow.

Well, for what it's worth…

Well, for what it's worth your writing seems to have made my brain hemorrhage.

In his post-game interview…

In his post-game interview Jim said they installed that seven weeks ago - before Edwards got injured.  They knew they were going to run it immediately from that hash and he said they knew it would work as soon as both teams lined up.  Wild play. Also mentioned Edwards consistently nails it in practice - had "never missed on it."

The secondary, and the QB…

The secondary, and the QB play, honestly.

Weiss has been a revelation to McNamara and his early returns on JJ McCarthy are looking appetizing. Hell, even Donovan Edwards looks great. Kidding. Sort of.

The secondary though looked lost, inept, unathletic last year and for big games in 2019. DJ Turner too a stranglehold on his job after Green's injury and Gray has really improved remarkably. Clinkscale deserves whatever he wants.

2016 was easily the worst I…

2016 was easily the worst I've seen. I live in Columbus, was tailgating on OSU's campus with a co-mingled group of OSU fans and UM fans.

I didn't go to the game, but about half of the group went, the rest of us stayed and watched on TV.  During the game, the OSU fans with us were fairly quiet, for obvious reasons.

When the group started trickling back in after watching from the stands, the Michigan fans were largely benign about the game, thinking it was close, etc.  The OSU fans trickling in were loud and happy, but after seeing their fellow OSU fans with their tails between their legs did they start to get curious.

The TV-watching crew told them how deep Michigan got it, and the Michigan fans went through this weird incredulous-to-outrage emotional swing right before our eyes. For them, much of it in-person wasn't shown on the OSU video boards (again, for obvious reasons).  They missed the Mike Weber stuff, the blatant missed PI's, and they thought the famous spot was completely fine because the chains were never brought out to measure.

That game, man.

Is the quip about former…

Is the quip about former Michigan receivers saying/typing "never go to Michigan" something I missed? Or just a comment in jest?

Tough catch, but it did hit…

Tough catch, but it did hit him in the hands. All drops another one.

Just as one example:…

Just as one example: Gamestop's new executive branch is now linked to Valve - one of the largest online cloud-based/digital video game companies on the planet.  This indicates they'll be attempting to work together and incorporate Steam into Gamestop's online library.  They're clearly making moves to gain traction online, not just their brick-and-mortars.

Two months ago a number of…

Two months ago a number of people were on here advising against GME despite many of us making an absolute killing off of it, before they even posted.

Since then I averaged down even further (thanks!), and the short interest has (incredibly) gone up even higher.  The MM's are currently doing everything they can to throw dirt on the fire, but we'll see.  It dropped over $100 in less than 15 minutes a half hour ago.

You don't have to be a…

You don't have to be a billionaire to own a hedge fund, but yes, my post stands.  There are massive hedge funds, smaller private hedge funds, and every size in between.  In fact, many smaller firms are holding GME for various reasons.

I'm sure mods can easily confirm it, but there's no point in doing so.

The short interest is…

The short interest is essentially the same. It's well over 100%, no matter what any single person tries to sell you. The ladder attacks and hedge funds buying and selling ATM calls/puts to hedge the short interest (to make the percentage appear to decrease) means little.  Two-week short interest is interesting when viewed in the $GME models.

Most of the retail trading sector is holding shares that mean little if it goes to $0, but is life-changing if it hits $1k.  Those 100% diversified portfolios will eclipse the vast majority of "ordinary" funds.

Keep in mind there are people on this site that work for hedge funds, own hedge funds, or have a lot of money tied up in hedge funds.  Whether you like it or not, and "win" or lose, r/wallstreetbets is now the world's largest hedge fund.
