Good move by Warde.  Still old enough to believe that, short of morally questionable behavior, firing a coach should occur after the season.

"Communist market" is an oxymoron.  College football was a centralized command structure, but the rules have been tossed aside (except for the enemies of the state).

Not sure there's a lot of real discussion to be had on the Juwan/Sanderson as no one on this board really knows the details and the HR complaint needs to be processed.

Maybe the money that Harrison is being offered is equivalent to 1st year salary, but he probably will get a signing bonus of over $20M once he signs his NFL contract.  There's no way anything equivalent to that is on the table.

Is this good for Duke?  The last 2 head coaches (Cutcliffe and Elko) seem less gimmicky that the Diaz blitzball approach.

I'd contend that Bray taking over as DC at Oregon State in in late 2021 was as big, if not bigger, of a factor for that's teams success in 2022 & 2023 as the offense.  SP+ ranks the defense as #16 in 2022 and #26 in 2023.

The issue is not the constitutionality of an organization's rules; it's that the rule is in conflict with anti-trust regulations.

Surprised the above wasn't pinned to the board instead of having people ask questions that have already been answered.

The above was so good that Tom Mars included it in the filing for Harbaugh.  Basic point is that since the NCAA is investigating, the bylaws require the investigation to conclude before B1G considers punishment.  Sportsmanship bylaw is secondary.

Walker is the team right now, for good or bad. His 2 point shooting kept Sparty in the game, but posted a goose egg from beyond the line and 11 for 17 at the charity stripe to ensure the defeat.

For all the talk about a…

For all the talk about a soft scheduling leaving Michigan unprepared for the big games - does anyone remember 2022 Michigan?

The delay was more likely…

The delay was more likely due to the NCAA investigation and negotiation on penalties.  Once the negotiations broke down, Michigan self imposed penalties instead.  Now that the suspension is in the rear view mirror, the optics of an extension are better.

It's apparent the MSU regime has learned nothing from the Sgt. Schultz routine during the Nassar era other than Don't Ask, Don't tell.

Thanks to the NCAA for breaking through all the (deserved) hype the 2023 football team is being showered with.  Think we'll hear about an "Us versus the world" mentality developing?

There's good reason to be suspicious of review embargoes, but with these 2 movies the motivation is almost certainly different:  Oppenheimer reviews are embargoed to avoid spoilers and Barbie reviews are embargoed to maintain interest as long as possible.

The title could be just as incorrect with fewer words.  The inference was that there would be portal news relative to Michigan today, not that someone was announcing for Michigan.

I don't think it's a statement about the B1G's feelings; having no protected rivalries allows Penn State to almost be an independent within the conference and an easier path to a top 2 finish.

I realize there's been a lot…

I realize there's been a lot of trauma suffered, but people could at least try to understand the difference between an undergrad transfer and a graduate transfer. The automatic "but admissions" response is lazy and tired.

To mangle an idiom, the Michigan admissions department is not full of rocket scientists.  Instead, they are a bunch of bureaucrats performing an 8-5 job and getting things done at their pace.

How many transfers across…

How many transfers across multiple sports have made it in already?  This may be more of a Caleb Love issue than an admissions issue.

If football or basketball can't bring in an athlete because a certain number of Michigan credits have to be earned to get a Michigan degree, that's the price you pay for status. Fine with me.
