Since basketball is a bust this season, cycling is the next big sporting event on the calendar for me. I watch the Tour de France every year (love the athleticism, the scenery and the NBC announcers) but will probably watch the Giro D'Italia for the first time this year. Agree that this will be a special year, and hope there will be more OT posts on this blog about it!
In my experience, when watching a replay, Peacock annoyingly makes you watch 60 seconds of commercials when you fast forward. There is no escaping the ads!
If you're not into golf, the Vuelta a Espana--basically the Spanish Tour de France--kicks off on Saturday morning (ET) on Peacock. Looking forward to seeing Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic of Team Jumbo Visma battle it out before football season starts in earnest!
After the Tour de France, Tour de France Femmes and the Women's World Cup, I'm beginning to think that sports are meant to be enjoyed in the early morning hours. It's going to be hard next month to wait until noon for a football game!
I just got back from a week in Berlin! If you are there over a weekend, I recommend visiting the flea market in Mauerpark on Sunday. There are lots of local artisans, and you can pick up some unique gifts for family and friends. From there, you can easily walk along the Berlin Wall Memorial to get a sense of East vs. West, and then take a stroll through the leafy and genteel neighborhoods of Prinzlauer Berg on your way to bustling Alexanderplatz, home of the famous television tower. I have not been to the top of the tower (my partner does not do heights), but the view from up there must be amazing!

A friend recommended these when I was at law school at Michigan. I have since read them all twice, and am looking forward to reading them all a third time. Oh, and I know almost nothing about sailing!
Very sad to hear this. A latte from Espresso Royale was an affordable treat for me during my impoverished law school days. I loved the non-chain vibe of the place, and always paid a visit when I was in Ann Arbor. I will miss it!
Rankings matter to me. I like to see a number (preferably a low one) next to our name, and rankings affect TV coverage (we were not even a "featured game" on ESPN yesterday). I'm guessing we'll be in the low 20s this week and, hopefully, we will keep climbing!

Based on the reading you have enjoyed, I would suggest Lee Child's Jack Reacher series and anything by Elmore Leonard or Martin Cruz Smith.
