My partner and I were looking to go the Rose Bowl, but an unexpected death of a parent meant she was traveling a lot in Dec, and we decided to bail on Pasadena.
Decided to book flights to Houston just on the outside chance we'd get to go. Happy I did, but seeing ticket prices about $1000 really has me wondering if we should go.
Hoping they come somewhat down to earth this week.
Bama fans are probably like Atlanta Braves fans in the 90's when they wouldn't sell out in the early playoffs because they were going almost every year.
They are prob holding out for the National Championship, within reasonable driving distance, vs flying out to the Rose Bowl.
I remember coming in to my job in college. We had a small boombox, and I had just lime-wired the new White Stripes album. Popped it in the CD player, Seven Nation Army intro hits, and immediately 3 people stopped and one blurts out "is Jack White playing a bass guitar?"
Must have replayed that song 20x during our shift. It was apparent upon first listen that song would be an instant classic.
That's good for you and glad you're not seeing it as a race/culture thing.
But to ignore the fact that A LOT of people are criticizing Deon for doing the same thing as some of his contemporaries, is simply unrealistic.
OP's felt the need to create a post to effectively say "I don't like this coach acting up, and he needs to be put in his place", specifically one that is part of a 10.2% minority in the D1 ranks.
So yeah, if you look OP's language, and at the objective differentiator between Deon and 90% of other coaches, one thing definitely jumps out.
I'm sick of this Michigan attitude that we think we're holding the moral high ground by abiding by the NCAA rules. The NCAA is a corrupt organization, and saying "we follow the rules" no longer holds water when the organization we're respecting has been effectively ruled unconstitutional.
I had a nice, heated argument with a fellow UM alum a couple years ago when NIL first came out. Everyone else was effectively paying players, and we were waiting on collectives to offer guys $5 per autograph. My friend kept hiding behind "but the NCAA says...", and my counter was "but the Supreme Court says...", and finally they countered with "but following the rules is what makes us better than the other schools."
So what has following the rules gotten us? We're basically hanging our coach out to dry, while the NCAA performs a witch hunt at the last school they know will not say "screw you, see you in court."
We're allowing a corrupt organization to levy penalties on us for $50 worth of food given to a recruit.
So please, someone, help make "we follow the NCAA rules, so we're better" make sense to me.

I saw this, and immediately thought the same thing.
Nice Try, Warde.
The exception to the rule doesn't disprove the rule.
The exception to the overall trend doesn't invalidate a tangible trend.
If you say his name 3x in a mirror, an entitled internet tough guy will appear
You can argue semantics all you want.
If you think Warde performance doesn't warrant a firing, then you're supporting him.
So your argument is that comments supporting Warde doesn't mean they're supporting Warde.
Do you illuminate your house with that gaslight?
I feel like it should have come to this a couple weeks ago.
We'll find out if it's too little too late.
Did his prior record at UW/USC indicate he should have gotten a whiff of the Texas job?
I completely agree with you.
Sadly, the state of affairs has turned every discourse toxic, even if it's just tangentially politics related.
I'm sure this will end well

If it's the bad guys, I'm more worried about one of the Bama CBs getting a pick.
But Milroe def has the talent to cause havoc.

Let's not give them a chance to go.
You couldn't even take the time to use 3rd grade level punctuation.
What do you expect?
Over 1000 players have put their names in the portal. Every team will have opt outs.
You're bad at this
And the Quat-troll has re-emerged 🤮
This is a bad post and you should feel bad.

Ohio wanted Harbaugh out, not Michigan
The committee has traditionally been cool leaving teams out that they know will be playing teams who are in.
So it wouldn't surprise me if we're out, with their justification being "they have a path forward by beating OSU". It helps them cover their asses.
What is with this board's obsession with Iowa?
A simple search could have saved you from reposting this 2 months late

Yeah, but that stuff flies on a Wednesday when there's not a lot of content.
On gamedays, there's open threads specifically to prevent these kinds of worthless opinion posts from clogging up the board.
If you're not going to add anything of value, please just use the open threads for your ramblings
Never let facts get in the way of a good story ;-)
Any team with that schedule should be able to get a pass in to the playoffs with 3 losses.

SEC Shorts is better
Can you be a dynamic player without any dynamic plays?
2022 DE was dynamic. 2023 DE is not.

Unpopular opinion:
I thank Cade for all his contributions when he was on the team.
But he's no longer a part of the UM team, so can we stop having individual threads about him (or Erick All)?
I don't care, and don't understand why anyone else does either.

Nonsense
But you haven't been to Lincoln either, so you're speculating just as much as they are.
That's what it looks like, though I'll unfortunately be unable to go then.
Oh well, maybe next year.
