I mean this respectfully and honestly - what is fun about watching Dug play? He demonstrates an awful attitude, plays next to ZERO defense, has poor leadership skills, has a 1.9:1 Assist to TO rate.
Yes he scores, but lacks all basic qualities of every successful Michigan PG of the past decade.
The level of frustration they have is understandable, but how would a move to the Big benefit them considering the playoff format expands next season and frankly the competition in the Big will be far more severe than in the ACC? To me it seems like a decision made purely on emotion and speaking as someone that frequently makes decisions on emotion, they don't usually work out the way you FELT they would.
One week prior to the 2019 NFL draft, I was eating breakfast at a Bob Evans in Grand Rapids with my wife on a Sunday morning. Walking towards the register with bill in hand preparing to pay, I happened to see a very large man sitting in a booth - just so happened to be none other than Rashan Gary. Because he was not yet served breakfast I walked over and introduced myself and exchanged my congratulations on his accomplishments - and shared that I hope the Steelers would find a way to draft him.
Rashan Gary, 1 week before the draft at Bob Evans in Grand Rapids - none of those things added up in my brain.
Realized 2 miles down the road I walked out of the restaurant forgetting to pay my bill, had to turn around and come back with tail between my legs to pay.
Jameer Nelson Jr. is in the portal as well - could use another PG (especially one with experience). Perhaps he would like to play for the same coach (Martelli) his dad what seems like not too long ago.
Yesterday was tough for me too. I'm right there with you.
So, this really resonates with me - 4 years ago in early May, my grandmother (my Mom's Mom) died unexpectedly, she was near 80 but in still relatively good health. 4 days later my Grandfather (My dad's father) passed away a day after he was released from the hospital and told he was ok after some heart trouble.
The next year on 4/15/19 my dad's mom passed away after an exceptionally rapid decline in which she went from being healthy to passing away in the span of 3 days. Then suddenly 2 days later on 4/17/19 my mother experienced a brain hemorrhage, causing her to pass also unexpectedly. My father lost his mom and his wife of 40 years in the span of 2 days.
Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of my mom's passing and that awful run of losing loved ones.
But the day was not spent in sorrow or mourning, it was spent celebrating Easter and what that means for us and those that have passed - what an amazing promise we have! As well, it was spent together as a family for the first time since all of those events occurred - as a result of those events we (for the most part) have grown closer together as a family and set aside those differences that often plague extended families and for that I am thankful.
Here is all that I can say as I am a bit further in my journey than you at this point....but I know everyone deals with things differently.....It never really gets better, but it does get easier. There is still so much joy to be found in life around you and while it is really scary sometimes, admitting that we aren't in control and accepting that is freeing.
my favorite part of this post is that your TL:DR version is nearly as long as the TL version.
With the way the offense has evolved and is operating out of the shotgun, backs taking hand offs deeper in the backfield likely won't allow for the traditional more plodding type of hammers referenced (Jarrod Bunch...."Coach, if you need one yard, I'll get you three yards. If you need five yards, I'll get you three yards."...comes to mind)
Was there for Michigan vs Ohio St recently, masks were mostly worn - they are mandatory. Vaccination cards with accompanying ID were reviewed upon entry into the arena.
If this happens, I think there needs to be serious consideration for Jay Harbaugh as the replacement. I know this will be a hot take and maybe on the surface not make sense, but:
He has been a good position coach for multiple positions, maybe even great in some regards
Has experience as a coordinator (Special Teams) - his unit has been elite
He is a highly regarded recruiter
He is young - could be a big draw for recruits
It creates a sense of stability
He will likely not feel the need to bring in a different system or environment to the program, Jim's way is the only way he knows basically
He's never been an offensive or defensive coordinator and likely won't meddle in those areas much, allowing him to focus more on game and player management
Brilliant. I coach high school football and sit in the press box with the headset on communicating with our defensive coordinator on Friday's - at least 5 times a game I encourage our Offensive Coordinator sitting next to me to "run the touchdown play"
Lions should offer Stafford for draft picks - Washington still has a shot at playoffs in that terrible division, and it's time for Detroit to go into full blown rebuild. (this coming from a non-Lions Steelers fan, but I have won my Fantasy Football league 3 of 4 years and am pretty skilled in Madden)

Nice
That I can agree on! What a sad state, that this is the bar we are measuring all else against.

But how's jersey sales doing in Ohio?
True story: growing up my father wouldn't let me eat red or green froot loops.
This would have made life much easier for 5 year old me.
I've got something for you to check out pal.

Both nuts, they don't get used much these days so I guess not a huge sacrifice other than you know....being able to talk about em all the time

Fire Coach Smith!
But how are our jersey sales in Ohio doing? That's the real measure of success

And just like that a new mgoblog meme was created. He is man
Stranger danger! Stranger danger!
Forgot to mention, fun fact - Alma's coach wears a kilt on the sidelines. Harbaugh's khakis got a lot of attention, but this is the real story.
Go Scots! Onward Scotsmen, show em how you fight!

A downhill one-cut runner like Haskins is ideal

Lets get the whole band back together - anyone know where Lloyd Brady is these days?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and ask you to give Ojabo a shield.
Need to bring in Zach Novak to complete the All Sparty "annoying Michigan white guy" killer lineup with Iggy, Moe and Franz.
You are he.
Calm down Fred Jackson.
Is Aubrey Solomon available?
