As a fellow football manager…

As a fellow football manager player (took Leeds to a quad starting from league1), I am all for a football manager pod of Brian playing FM.

Even a live pod with his reaction to his players missing 1 on 1 chances and him demanding his developmental players dump their current agents who are asking to renegotiate contracts with 3 years still left.

This really adds more…

This really adds more meaning with the age of the transfer portal and all.

My get off the lawn is; only conference champions should make the playoffs.

Get rid of divisions and conference championship games. Only play a championship game if all categorized tie breakers are exhausted.

Realign all 131 teams into 12 conferences. I don't know how, this is my lawn and I can yell it into existence.

If a 16 team playoff is prefered, maybe allow 4 conference runner-ups play as wildcards in addition to the champions.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I wish Nike would rerelease this. Oh well.

I think i still saw a white helmet swing above heads after #41 grabbed #14. Can't see if it was to hit someone but definately more helmet swinging is seen after #14 is pulled aside.

I also assumed the hoodie was an exclusive item since I saw JH wear it last season as well and couldn't find it being sold then either.

Rutger should be replaced with PSU.

Nothing happens in a vacuum…

Nothing happens in a vacuum. Everything has context.

Just as an example, everyone can agree being called a 'boy' in a condesending tone by anyone is disrespectful, but for a white person to call a black person, especially a grown man, that has many implications due to history.

Coach should definately be suspended and I have no idea what really instigated the physicalnrespone. But saying an action is equal to all regardless of race and context is from not having lived the experience.

I always play as either…

I always play as either Newcastle or Leeds in FM but...

Unfortunately no amount of money is going to make living in newcastle glamorous enough for superstars.

The last superstar to play there during their prime is, in my opinion, Alan Shearer during the mid 90s and early 2000s.

There were others who played there before their prime and left immediately after showing great potential or came during the tail end of a great player's career.

You just can't buy great weather.

i am not doubting his skills…

i am not doubting his skills/potential.

it's the combination of (my personal opinion) subpar QB development under JH up to date + very limited sample size for Cade that is not letting me feel warm and fuzzy about it.

feeeeeelzzz wise, i just am not at the point where I see any current roster QB launching one and automatically thinking completion/touchdown as the camera is panning towards the endzone.

"Michigan struggles to run…

"Michigan struggles to run the ball gaining just 44 yards on the ground, the team abandons the run and throws for 343 yards in a 31-10 win. Does anyone even bat an eyelid? Perspective."

I think one of the major gripe regarding the lack of a passing offense even though the team won is that JH was supposed to be a quarterback whisperer. the QB was supposed to be solid.

i agree with the perspective argument but for me personally, i can't remember the last time seeing the QB launch one and thought automatically 'that looks good' instead of 'omg omg please don't be an interception.

Thank you so much for the…

Thank you so much for the first hand insights.

I now definitely am going to demo them.

anybody have experience with yonex racquets?

I hear it has a pretty sizable sweet spot and a good feel for the elbow.

i read it as 'people with a PhD were less likely to change their negative opinion about the vaccine compared to others', not be less likely to trust it.

"I've also heard some vague…

"I've also heard some vague things about the systemic effect of altering one's DNA rather than exposing it to a dead virus as traditional vaccines do. Those are the non crazy things I've heard from people who are way smarter than me."

I doubt it was from someone with an understanding in basic biology. How in the world would an mRNA alter someone's DNA?

my apologies, i was very…

my apologies, i was very crass with that comment.

I should have simply said a PhD in a non-medical science field.

Peter McCullough: not a…

Peter McCullough: not a virologist. advocated for early treatment including hydroxychloroquine. being sued  for using old baylor affiliation while dishing covid vaccine falsehoods.

Jane Ruby: not a virologist, not even an MD doctor, is a health economist.

Vladimir "Zev" Zelenko: not a virologist. major proponent of the use of hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and azithromycin to treat covid.

Ben Edwards: not a virologist. some MD who started a relegious+health facility offering pseudoscientific services like 'ozone treatment'.

https://medical.veritashealthycommunity.com/dr-ben-edwards/

Robert Malone: not a virologist but probably the only one on the list who has any authentic expertise in the area of mRNA as a therapeutic modality. became a fringe voice against general access of covid vaccine to general public.

https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2021/08/robert-malone-vaccine-inventor-vaccine-skeptic/619734/

Jim Meehan: not a virologist, is an ophthalmologist. been told by a judge 'you are not an expert regarding covid'

https://www.wshu.org/post/anti-science-expert-witnesses-deemed-unsuitable-connecticut-mask-trial#stream/0

None of the people listed are a virologist. only Malone comes remotely close as an expert of mRNA vaccines which that itself can be debated.

paying for a fake vaccine…

probably the same logical thinking how an organic beer will be better for you even though you are drinking a carcinogen.

more likely "some results are contradictory and need further studies+analysis."

"Generally, COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy was higher among... ...less educated (≤ high school diploma) adults, and those with PhDs..."

I also would like to know what those PhDs specialize in. Wouldn't be surprised it being a bunch of theologists and political scientists.

Replace them with Pitt and ND.

If I can further get rid of the bye week, I would add BC and UVA.

regarding Hart, I can recall…

regarding Hart, I can recall a few times I rode the elevator in angell hall with Hart; whenever my eyes met his extremely intense eyes looking back I felt like he knew somehow I wronged him, like kill his cat, and he was thinking about how to kill me in the most painful ways. i would always avert my eyes down to my toes. one time as I was about to hop on the elevator from inside he looked at me and I froze and I decided to wait for the next one.

this was with many of the Oline guys usually towering around him like bodyguards in the elevator. Hart was the scariest guy in the box.

The top result for me is about pulling out of the college world series due to covid.

I hope everything works out for your wife. Also, try to help her avoid any unnecessary stress, both physical and mental.

I have a friend who also got the shot while suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome in his wrist and elbow. He was a postdoc applying for grants and faculty positions at the time and spent a lot of time on his computer.

Around the time he got the shot, still being very busy interviewing, applying for grants and being very very stressed, he got the shingles.

It could be just a coincidence but the shot does lower the immune system, that is the whole idea of the shot, and he thinks his shingles came about due to the shot and being very stressed at the time.

The above JH's comment in…

The above JH's comment in isolation may sound like how you describe it.

But we know JH wants to, or wanted to be like Bo as a coach. Bacon's book has JH's wife explaining how JH tries to emulate Bo in his mannerism in coaching as well.

Knowing that, the above JH's comment is not a good look. I would dare say that JH didn't really know Bo that well then.

Many people start their…

Many people start their careers before turning 20. Some even go to war by that age. I don't think we can generalize someone's maturity and experience based on age and education level.

I do wonder if we tend to remember the successful athletes' stories who emphasize their time 'waiting in line' compared to those who transferred and succeeded because of the transfer.

I remember a long time ago…

I remember a long time ago in the 90s when the media was saying something technologically incredible was going to be revealed, something that will change life as we know it. More important than the internet they said. As big a deal as the PC someone said. There were speculations that it was fusion power, economical electric/hydrogen cars etc.

It was the Segway.

I thought then it had no future beyond being a really expensive toy but it found it's niche and is here to stay.

I feel somewhat similar about the NFT.

these vaccines are not …

these vaccines are not 'hastily concocted'.

they all go through the same safety steps other vaccines go through.

the only reason why the vaccine would be quickly supplied after clinical trials is the companies are also developing manufacturing in parallel to clinical trials for covid vaccines. companies almost never does that in case therapeutics do not get past clinical trials. but for this vaccine, since time is of the essence, they are doing it in parallel due to the urgency.

have a read.
