I like NIL and want the kids to earn their share... but NIL as it exists is killing what we knew of college football. I feel like the kids can both earn their NIL money while also being committed to the college for more than a 6 month period.
Branch plays our slot. That pick makes no sense unless they want to move him to Safety. Even so, their dire need is at outside corner. Seems like this guy doesn’t know what he is doing.
Money for sure is part of it.... but if you uncover and develop a kid, the odds are he will be gone as soon as other teams become aware. How can you compete on the field?
Feels like any mid tier college coach job isn’t worth it. Feel like this trend of mid tier college coaches becoming coordinators at higher level college programs or moving into the pros is accelerating
Texas AM bought recruiting classes with nothing above them. It isn’t a surprise that players who came in for money left for more money, especially when the team sucks. OSU is unfortunately not in a similar situation. OSU has quality returning senior players, nice quality transfers, and a high quality recruiting class. They haven’t beat us but they do win. I am not anointing them, but comparing what they are doing to what AM did is just wrong
I mean... if that had an unlimited amount of resources... sure. But there are limits. Maybe apply those resources to look at collusion between the NCAA and the Big 10 against Harbaugh
Honestly, the fact that this is playing out in the media as leaks is encouraging. Means Harbaugh's camp views UM as a realistic option. Him having options is a reasonable position for one of the preeminent coaches to take
Troy Weavers choices with Marvin Bagley have always confused me. Why did you trade for him when we had a logjam at the position. Why resign him to an over market contract… why does he still have a job?
It makes all the sense in the world for Alabama, but does it for Lanning? Following in the footsteps of Saban who was underfire just this year for 1 loss.... seems like an impossible task. Meanwhile, Oregon looks primed to have a nice Georgia-of-the-west type of run.
I tend to agree. I also wonder if this will increase football participation? The fear of hitting and being tackled isn't trivial and if kids can learn the game absent that... maybe that kinetic energy for some individuals could be overcome?
Is there anything out there that is positive with Dante Moore and Michigan? Everything that I come across seems to point to an eventual Oregon commitment.
USC is real competition for Cam Ward. They run an air raid, can financially compete with OSU, and are located in a more desirable location. It will be very interesting to see where he lands.
Why risk throwing. The only way PSU wins that game is by a turnover. They could more easily generate that by throwing, especially with their pass rush. IMO Moore knew that PSU didn’t have faith in their qb to throw the ball on Michigan, so just they just salted away the game and controlled the game. At the end of the fourth, PSU was still running, showing why they didn’t want Aller to throw. When he eventually did, it was embarrassing.
I don't think they will honestly consider leaving the B1G, but I think they will see his eventual ouster through. I know that if one of your conference's flagship universities wants you gone, you are probably gone sooner rather than later.
Agreed. His job requires him to be both a competent administrator and a savvy marketer knowing when and how to communicate in order to preserver our programs. He is either choosing to not defend Michigan football or he doesn't know how. Either way, that is a failure on his part and a fatal one at that. Bye Warde
Somehow, he can be not wrong and wrong at the same time. He was missing wide open reads. If he is thinking too much like he says (blamed on the coaches), doesn't this also suggest he isn't doing enough work to understand how the play develops and how to react to various defenses during the play?
Kinda incredible that the main sports reporters here hate Detroit sports. I don’t mind Mike but I can’t stand Rico… he doesn’t bring anything to the table and just belittles everything the Lions do
Can Hunter play that many snaps and last even half the year, much less the entire season? A lot of pressure on one player who other teams will scheme to take away if he continues to be featured on offense like that
Doubtful. His advantage is that he successfully used his star power to his advantage. I don’t believe he has shown he is anything more than a figurehead yet. Real coaches with real coaching prowess have shown they are not up to the task, including many of the NCAA elite(except Harbaugh).
I hate the packers but the dude quit on that team last year when he was making 50 million a year. A contract that he just signed. How can you not even try in that situation? I hope he shits the bed this year and then retires
The NBA draft in general is now an awful marketing tool. The NFL has a three day event with months of lead time where every team knows if they get it right, they can become a playoff team. All the fans know the players to be selected. The NBA has a bad lottery system to draft players most people haven’t heard of and most will not be anything but middling players for the next few years. I wish they would bring back the two to three year period where players had to stay and develop their game before becoming eligible for the draft. Better for the draft and better for the teams to get more developed players imo.

all roads lead to 'Fire Warde!'
do you give your children nerf or water guns? I don't care, but my wife hates them for the implication.
Agreed. Sounds more like the NY Post

I didn't even feel it on the west side

Very much so…. But man is it fun and beautiful out here
I love Blake, but 4th or 5th round pick. Not super explosive and has mileage.
start banning these idiots... reserve your opinions for twitter/X
Maybe Warde needs to take a paycut?

I guess importing the Georgia defense straight to the pros doesn’t quite transfer with the same results

People seem to think DeBoer for some reason now... feels just like slinging shit at the wall... again why would he leave?

I forgot all about this gem... I laughed harder now than ever
Thanks for the memories and good luck!
Thanks coach Harbaugh

Tell me that you don't actually know anything about Westwood without saying that you don't know shit about Westwood...

We need to break out the WD bat sign...

If this is even remotely true, just get rid of Warde...now. I would rather risk getting a new AD than trying to replace Harbaugh.
If he went, then there would be a conclusive picture or something... right? Where is the evidence?
I am starting to agree that Warde should leave sooner rather than later.

This seems like due diligence... still not sure why California (or even Washington) when you may be able to get UVA and or UNC if you are patient.
Yes

I can come around with FSU but I hate Miami. If we do this, add FSU, UVA, UNC, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Oregon and call it a day.

How did the Pistons tank? They lost Cade due to injury for the season…
Similar tastes…. Nonpoint’s cover in particular is a great take on a classic
