It was always Tiburon and…

It was always Tiburon and the games were still very different. Honestly I would be happy if they took 14’ and just updated the rosters and made it playable on next-gen consoles.

... and?

... and?

True, but I’d rather have…

True, but I’d rather have someone like Michael Hart be the RB coach than the coach’s son.

No he would’ve been wasted…

No he would’ve been wasted here like every other skill player on offense. Unless there’s a coaching change of course.

Because he’s completely…

Because he’s completely unproven as an OC and especially HC. If he did well as an interim coach here if Harbaugh got fired now then things would be different of course.

I wouldn’t even really…

I wouldn’t even really understand Fickell saying no. Unless he thinks Cinci will make the jump to a power-five conference, or a job like OSU or ND will open up I don’t see why he’d say no (even though he’s an OSU alum).

Even though we haven’t performed to the level that we could for a while, I think we underrate the quality of job this is and underrate the opportunity. Not many schools have better facilities, loyal fanbase, athletics budget, etc. than us. IMO it’s still a destination spot for a coach who doesn’t have NFL ambitions. Of course I may be biased though.

I think overall record is…

I think overall record is relevant to judging an era. And if you look at the losses from 2010 they were far from blowouts or implosions like we saw today. The closest was OSU at 37-7 and the bowl game of course when his fate was essentially already sealed.

I just feel like a coach should be given 4 seasons unless it’s a complete train wreck. Imo 7-6 isn’t a train wreck at Michigan when you’re in your third year and still ascending. If it’s not 9 wins or more in the 4th year then sure, show him the door.

The one thing I’ll give RR…

The one thing I’ll give RR is that his records always ascended. 3-9, then 5-7, then 7-6. The year he left we had that 11 win season and BCS Bowl win with Hoke. I feel like RR should’ve been given a 4th year on the condition that he got a new DC. I think if that happened he might’ve still been here today.

I have to give Harbaugh some credit for the 10 win seasons he’s brought but without anything to show for it they feel meaningless. And at this point I’m not sure the program is better now than it was when he came. I’ve been calling for Brown to be gone for two seasons and Harbaugh for one.

I wish they could just get rid of those two tonight and let Gattis be the interim coach for the rest of the season and go from there.

The pass literally bounced…

The pass literally bounced off of Eubanks’ face. He has to catch that.

Exactly, especially…

Exactly, especially considering he realistically has no chance to coach at OSU in the near future.

The “details” are likely…

The “details” are likely just the victim’s account of what happened. I was falsely accused with something similar in the past, but luckily the girl that made the claim was a fool and I had an alibi. Up until this point this story is purely “he said, she said” and the whole encounter could have been consensual.
The only exception is if the actual act was recorded, which I doubt. Let this play out. Don’t rush to a side without thinking of all of the possibilities. Innocent until proven guilty.

This seems like common sense…

This seems like common sense to me. I’m never one of the moral high ground guys, but seeing the same people who talk shit about the morality of anybody on our schedule try to play mental gymnastics with the case is funny. “But it was really the AD son’s car!!!”, lol come on man. Most wouldn’t even try to rationalize the headline after seeing a player was driving the AD’s car at a rival school.

+1, I don’t know how so much…

+1, I don’t know how so much of this board has come to this consensus on Milton. He has nowhere near large enough of a sample size to say definitive statements like this. And it’s not easy coming in just at the 4th quarter with a cold arm and maybe 5-10 minutes of CFB experience. There will be growing pains.

Lol this is an exhibition…

Lol this is an exhibition game/week for them. If it was purely for competition they wouldn’t even come. They’ve already secured their positions at schools, the rankings, etc.

It’s not that simple man…

It’s not that simple man. You’re right, if you have a weak OL you’ll probably have a weak run game. But you’re lying to yourself if you say we’ve had an RB even close to Elliot, Barkey, Dobbs, Taylor, Gordon III, etc., in the past decade. We have not had a great back since Hart, and even then you can place a good amount of his success on having a great OL as he flopped in the NFL - unlike the guys I named above who are in the NFL. We don’t recruit elite athletes, and we don’t develop great players.

Even Charbonnet for example - what’s his standout trait. He’s not very fast, not very strong, and has above average vision. The best thing about him up to this point has been pass blocking. He’s not a high ceiling kind of guy. A great RB could take us to another level. This year the OL wasn’t as bad as people have been saying. If we had one of those above guys on our team this past season I think our season goes a bit differently.

It’s been insane seeing…

It’s been insane seeing people talk down on Long and Woodson and their careers man. People are defending Harbaugh like he’s their brother. I’m confused. It’s like people forget Harbaugh was talking shit about Michigan and their academics when he was the coach at Stanford.

All I know is something in the program needs to change. Exactly what, I don’t know because I’m not in the building. But lets not keep bashing our past greats for stating their opinions or offering their critiques. Disagree if you want, then move on.

How many years is it ok to…

How many years is it ok to not win a B1G under Harbaugh. 10-15? Serious question - I don’t want to sound snarky or anything, but I just want to see what you will accept.

Exactly, Charles did the…

Exactly, Charles did the same thing after Wisconsin (I believe, maybe Penn State). His eyes were full of tears and he said he was embarrassed. I’d much rather have passionate dialogue between former greats than have robotic journalists read off stats.

Lol, I thought I was the…

Lol, I thought I was the only one thinking this.

Well the full game is…

Well the full game is counted, no? Fair take though. OSU definitely pulled away in the third.

I would say they faired…

I would say they faired pretty well. 34-21 OSU with Wisconsin driving. They’ll probably lose, but great performance by them. He did say compete, not win.

And the same applies to you…

And the same applies to you doing the opposite - we are on a Michigan sports forum fool. And there’s no bitching, I’m stating facts and refuting your idiotic take.

You make a dumb take then try to come with insults lol - you’re laughable.

Even Ivy Leagues bend…

Even Ivy Leagues bend academic rules for athletes. They’re allowed to offer a certain number of kids each year who are below the standard university requirements and there’s tiers for various academic levels affecting how many players can be admitted on each level.

No, a loss is not just a…

No, a loss is not just a loss. How badly you lose, or how badly your O/D play, reflects on the coaches and the team - the same way winning does. That’s why you have guys running up the score for the playoff committee. They wouldn’t do so if a loss was just a loss or a win was just a win. It matters how you win or lose.

It’s a lot different to lose a game by giving up 7 as opposed to 70. I don’t understand how it’s difficult to understand that the DC would be graded more poorly after the latter performance.

To most teams, sure.

To most teams, sure.

If you read his post he was…

If you read his post he was talking about Don Brown, and in turn defense. Wisconsin gave up 38 against OSU in the horseshoe. Better than us at home, no? And with less talent I’ll add.

But we had a 10 sacks vs…

But we had a 10 sacks vs. school of the blind!

Harbaugh consistently refers…

Harbaugh consistently refers to Brown as “the head coach of the defense”. One would assume that he has a strong impact on who is recruited.

Well, who recruited them and…

Well, who recruited them and/or put us in that position?

Wow they’re paying athlete’s…

Wow they’re paying athlete’s parents rents! Giving them a car and some cash! Pure evil.

Lol the Zach Smith thing is something else, but come on. I hate people who think things are morally right just because they are the rules or law. I’m sure you can think of many of the biggest events in human history where the two don’t coincide. Just pay the players already.

Stats like these aren’t the…

Stats like these aren’t the biggest thing for a DT. A big part of their job is just taking the blocks off of the LBs, especially if we’re playing in a 3-4 or they’re the nose in a 4-3. Already saw a Chase Young comparison below, but different positions - different games.

Yes, it is clear that Solomon could’ve helped us out big time. He would be starting if he was here.

I know for a fact many of…

I know for a fact many of our players are in a similar situation. And if you know anybody that’s been in undergrad in the past 5-10 years, online classes are far from rare - and definitely not just walks through the park. Everything of significance is moderated either in person or with a program that tracks your eye movement to detect cheating.

Let’s not act all high and mighty like we don’t encourage players to take certain courses to maximize time spent on football. Jourdan Lewis himself said they didn’t allow him to major in graphic design because it would take up too much time. Do you really think 90% of our guys just have a fascination with kinesiology? Lol

Our RBs have been average at…

Our RBs have been average at best. I don’t know what he’s talking about. We have Mike Hart down the road but instead Harbaugh thinks his son is the best for the job lol, what a joke. We have maybe two RBs who can even pass protect and all of them consistently miss open holes. No vision. There’s also physical limitations in terms of explosiveness but that’s stuff you can’t really teach as an RB coach.

Yes, both schematically and…

Yes, both schematically and in recruiting.

Fuck the “rules”. Who or…

Fuck the “rules”. Who or what are we hurting by paying a player? The amateurism of college football? Lol that shit’s been gone man, face reality. There’s no point in fielding a team if every one else is trying to compete and we’re trying to have fun. Might as well just make it an intramural sport or drop divisions if this is what we’re going to be. I’m not saying we should be beating OSU’s ass but the talent level is just not even close. It’s embarrassing, and it doesn’t look like it’s getting any better. Harbaugh can’t recruit.

I’m starting to learn that…

I’m starting to learn that my expectations for Michigan are too high. I expect us to be able to compete with top teams, but I’ve learned that the majority of our fan base doesn’t really care, and our coaches don’t. It’s moral victory above all else, so I guess we are the victors today lol. It’s a hard pill to swallow but I guess we never were what I thought we were. Might as well be Indiana or some shit. I’m drunk and haven’t read other people’s post but I already predict either “Fire Harbaugh” or “OSU Cheats!”. Either way it doesn’t fucking matter. We’re not what I though Michigan was. Kind of sad really.

Lol, totally wrong take…

Lol, totally wrong take. Great players get passed regularly. You wouldn’t love to have Fields? Eason? Hurts? Kyler Murray? Kamara? Shit, Baker Mayfield? Terrible take. It’s clear that this could benefit us greatly. I’d say probably more so than grad transfers. Most of the best players are gone by their 4th year, more often 3rd. But grad transfers can be effective in filling voids on the roster (Danna).

To be honest I thought we…

To be honest I thought we should’ve been ranked to start the season, but I guess I’m biased. I’d say high teens this week.

I always thought FSU would…

I always thought FSU would be a great spot for a HC. Like you mentioned it’s a high talent region that gets to play worse competition in the ACC. I guess the only negative would be the intense instate recruiting.

You mean like the same way…

You mean like the same way we played Iowa close at home? Lol chill out hoss. You’re wrong for thinking we march into Kinnick and run shit no problem. We beat Iowa 10-3... Sure we’ve gotten better since then but throw in the element of a big night game in Kinnick and I’m not sure we would have “kicked the shit out of Iowa” - it would’ve been a game.

I know we’re high on ourselves because we just beat a rival but let’s not disregard top 25 teams [especially if in the hypothetical we would’ve been on the road ;) ].

So just relax hoss. Enjoy the win. It’s ok that other teams are also good. No need to hate.

Yes, they haven’t played a…

I really don’t understand how you can come to that conclusion. Minnesota loses by 4 points on the road in Kinnick in a big game and now you have them going .500 if they played our schedule.

We have multiple mutual opponents and it’s clear that we and Minnesota are not very far away on the field. I’d say very close actually, and you’ll likely see that manifested in the rankings this week (whether it be CFP, S&P+, AP, USA Today, or whatever metric you want to use) . We get a little hot and feel full of ourselves.

If you provoke a man you may face the repercussions - the same way Garrett is about to for doing something frowned upon. You can only control what you do, you can’t control how anyone reacts. Most men operate on the basis of “don’t fuck with me, and I won’t fuck with you”.

You say overtime but I don’t…

You say over time but I don’t even think it was balanced from the start (East and West). Michigan, MSU, OSU, and PSU all in the same division?

Yesssirrrr?. Kept the 360…

Yesssirrrr?. Kept the 360 just for 14’.

To run an offense to it’s…

To run an offense to it’s full capabilities arm strength is undoubtedly important. Sure you can adjust how the offense is run to suit the QB’s game - but if they’re trying to hit a comeback across the field, a deep 9, or any bullet pass, etc. arm strength is extremely important.

If you lack arm strength in those above scenarios you’ll give the D enough time or a short enough distance to break up the pass, or worse intercept it. That’s why when you see a QB hit a comeback from across the field people often say “that was an NFL throw” - it’s important in evaluating the position.

With all that being said I think Caff has shown he has a strong enough arm. Idk where people are seeing otherwise so clearly or when he was even given the chance to display it.

Ha.
