Is the intent that you are…

Is the intent that you are already admitted to U of M, then take intro courses somewhere else, or that you takes the courses somewhere else, and you know what transfers?

Was there guidance on what…

Was there guidance on what classes they took and how they would transfer over?

That's a thing I'm wondering…

That's a thing I'm wondering - if we're not looking near campus, is AA basically any other suburb? Sometimes as I'm thinking about it, it feels small town with not much there, but sometimes I think everything seems to be nearby and easy to get to compared to Chicago suburbs. So, I dunno.

What's the difference in…

What's the difference in schools between AA and any of those? I agree, we're not looking to relive our college years with this, so you're totally right that we don't need to be downtown or even close to it, but we are thinking of Ann Arbor schools. That leaves houses in some areas I'm pretty familiar with (south and west) and some I'm not (north). It does seem like Saline is cheaper, but not sure about the schools, and also feels a little more rural from looking at Google maps.

The lake and beach don't do…

The lake and beach don't do much for me, but being close to Devon is nice. But a lot of the reason to stay in the Chicago area is to be close to family in the west and south suburbs, so Evanston is kinda out because of that.

I promise I took real…

I promise I took real classes when I went to U of M, not "History of the University of Michigan" -- I have no idea when I learned that, though.

Totally! I love so many…

Totally! I love so many things about Oak Park, which is probably why, despite my excitement about it, the idea of moving from it makes me nervous.

Yes definitely! I've heard…

Yes definitely! I've heard about it, but no details - pretty much just statements like this. My thought has been, "eh they'll probably just raise taxes and it'll get taken care of" but I don't know much about it. If anyone knows any more about it, that would be great!

Definitely not, that's a…

Definitely not, that's a simplification. We both went to Michigan, and are from Michigan, and like it, and have family reasons to choose it, so it's not like we're thinking "if we could live anywhere, where would it be" it's more like "does it make sense to move to Michigan or stay in Chicago"

It is, but we're coming from…

It is, but we're coming from an area where it's even higher, so we'll actually be able to afford something better there - it's another reason to move there, but I'm trying not to make "so I can have a bigger house" too much of the reason to do it. What surprised me though is, from my scrolling on Redfin, things looked worse in Novi then in Ann Arbor. But maybe that's a function of what happens to be currently available.

That's a typo, meant to say …

That's a typo, meant to say "the Chicago area," we're in Oak Park. The cost and the schools (and the crime) here are a reason we've been discussing it for years, but we've been willing to deal with it and hope things get better.

I've made a lot of calls to schools in the areas we're looking at this week, so I feel like I have a little info on them, but anyone with more direct insight on them would be appreciated!

Definitely. When I see a…

Definitely. When I see a house for sale and say "oh look, the kids can walk to Pioneer," I know what I'm really thinking.

While we're piling on. A 2…

While we're piling on. A 2-for-1 401k match is nice, but why not tell you the limit on that? If they give 2% on a 1% contribution, that's not actually that great.

For all you haters of the Athletic, apparently the cover features Ewers, Hunter, and Milroe, "among others"

Oh so you have bootlegging experience already. Glad it's working out for you!

Where does a fragel fall on this list? I miss the Bagel Factory.

He was also probably sad that he had to walk around the Diag.

I think you meant stiffy.

I think you meant stiffy.

Wait, what? Selection Sunday…

Wait, what? Selection Sunday hasn't even happened yet. Who's going to coach the team if we make the tournament?

He's the mgoblog version of Dylan McCaffrey (as opposed to the real version)

I came to say "Both played really well in the Big House"

Like Tom Brady, but faster. I wonder if anyone will draft him.

Florida State says hi

While I understand a lot of…

While I understand a lot of this sentiment, I think there's at least something to be said for taking more bids out of the hands of a committee. Who says that #14 B1G school is #14, and that Auburn is #25? A bunch of fat cats? Automatic qualifiers at least means your spot is earned by how many games you've won and lost.

What does it mean to send…

What does it mean to send someone an edit?

Who's the Boss, amirite?

For someone named Indy Pete,…

For someone named Indy Pete, you sure care a lot about Florida.

That's exactly what I was…

That's exactly what I was talking about. It was a joke, but it's Northwestern, so a bulldozed area is actually probably fine.

Looks like it's already up…

Looks like it's already up to $45, with 7 days left to go. I'm out - too bad, that would have been awesome.

Speaking of compound…

Speaking of compound interest, I saw this article yesterday:

https://www.cnet.com/personal-finance/banking/savings/yes-compound-interest-is-magic-watch-me-double-my-savings-in-one-year/#is-there-a-downside-to-compound-interest

The gist:

1. Have an account with $1000 in it.

2. Contribute $100 a month for a year.

3. Claim your account "doubled because compound interest is magic"

I was already checking out…

I was already checking out the Sherwani, $7 is less than you can get one for on Devon. Thanks for the context!

It's weird that the article…

It's weird that the article mentions Guaranteed Rate being 10 miles south of Evanston like it's a problem, when SeatGeek Stadium is even further south. Not to mention Lambeau obviously being even further away (it's in Green Bay, WI not Green Bay Rd).

Wrigley Field, Soldier Field…

Wrigley Field, Soldier Field, Arlington Heights, Naperville...seems like there's a lot of options in the Chicago area.

No, he's talking about…

No, he's talking about capitated claims. After his success selling sunglasses, he's moving on to selling comprehensive health insurance. So by "all cap" he's of course saying there's no carveouts.

At least he's not following…

At least he's not following Jim to LA.

UIC made the tournament when I was a student there! Never went to a game though.

I don't feel it has to be…

I don't feel it has to be either/or, but yeah I agree with that. And, much like guns, were heading the wrong way. I mean, you don't even have to be a person now to get a license to drive.

The good news for you (so…

The good news for you (so that you won't have to talk about it) is that it isn't true - the worst states actually don't have large cities.

I feel like you're reading…

I feel like you're reading what you want to. There's discussion on both sides of this argument, and I don't see it trending either direction.

I don't get this line of…

I don't get this line of thinking. You're talking about the US Government. How many trillions do they spend on weapons? I don't understand how your ownership of guns is going to deter the US Government from doing what it wants to you, if it really wanted to. I hope this doesn't sound too challenging, because I'm really curious to hear an answer.

He's bursting with…

He's bursting with Adegokulence.

Agree. If he's saying he…

Agree. If he's saying he already spent all that money, he's saying he wasn't expecting Harbaugh to come back.

Dunno if you've heard, but…

Dunno if you've heard, but Florida is a state now, not a territory. Wow, you are old.

Is it actually hard to…

Is it actually hard to believe though? I mean this isn't signgate here, it's a group of people watching a football game.

Could argue with part of #1…

Could argue with part of #1 too. Why wouldn't he (or Moore) bring in an LB coach who can recruit?

Right. This poll would be…

Right. This poll would be extremely relevant if Warde worked for the Twitter verse.

Right. This whole saga…

Right. This whole saga overlooks the point that by all rights, we were lucky as hell to have Harbaugh coaching here in the first place, and if he were any other coach with three recent conference championship game appearances, he'd 100 percent have taken another NFL job then.
