I think many think Michigan has reached it's ceiling with Harbaugh. Simply reality is this, Michigan is an elite QB away from competing for a NC. (See LSU, Bama and Clemson). Does Michigan have one on the roster? Nobody knows for sure. Looks promising for the 2021 commit. Win the Big and get in the final four and ticket sales will take care of self. Unfortunately, the bloom is off the rose for Harbaugh after two historically bad losses from OSU.
No I don't think Michigan should look for new coach as most of us lived through RR and BH. Just need that one magical year like Swinney had to launch Michigan to another level....keep the faith. Swinney took over in 2008 and didn't get first championship until 2015, but played and loss to Bama in 2014. I think there is a NC in Harbaugh as coach, just need a couple more pieces to puzzle.
I never understand hand wringing over any coach or player leaving. This is the new reality of the college football transfer portal and has long been the reality of the coaching profession. Why can't we just focus and support those who call Michigan home, either as a player or coach?
Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. All the coaches leaving are getting promotions, increased pay, climbing the coaching ladder or going home to momma. That is a compliment to Harbaugh. Saban has to recycle coaches every year because everyone is picking from Saban's coaching tree. Harbaugh has proven to be a winner picking coaches. I am sure he will find a couple diamonds to replace those who left. I don't know why everyone is so up tight about this.
This supersedes any departures as it relates to net effect. In other words, Nico staying has a far greater positive impact than anyone who is officially leaving or has left.
Not a negative towards Shea, but why didn't DM get some early playing time.? Shea playing entire game did nothing for Michigan in 2020 and DM would have gained invaluable experience for 2020. For that matter, would like to see Milton for a series or two. Not suggesting Shea get benched, just thought it would be a good environment against an elite team.
And yes, more QB running would open up offense more.
Devin Bush Sr is very relatable to recruits. He was once a highly rated recruit, his son was a coveted recruit, he played in NFL and has been at Michigan in some capacity for several years. Hope he is a leading candidate to replace Partridge.
Don Brown would be a legend if he could have held OSU either last year or this year to 24 or less points. I think Don Brown is a great coach against good teams and a good coach against great teams. His play calling vs OSU and PSU on 3rd and long was mind boggling at times. Michigan could do a lot worse than Brown and not likely to do better. I am not a Don Brown fan at this time, but giving an inexperienced position coach 5 years removed from high school coaching a power 5 DC job is quite a stretch. Partridge is a 5 star recruiter. And who knows, maybe he is ready for a DC position.
Lions need to trade back...they need more picks. There is not one transcendent player other than Tua and that is a high risk pick due to potential health issue. Hopefully there is a team that is one player away that wants the #3 pick bad and gives a mid round 1st and 2nd red pick for the 3 spot...
OK, I think Bama is better than OSU. So, my head thinks Michigan loses by at least 20. My heart tells me that Michigan will play Bama tough...All we can hope is Bama is disinterested in this game.
I agree with you. Jimmy Stewart never was tied or implicated in scandal. Served honorably in world war II. Seem to have an "every man" quality to his persona. In his later years he would occasionally show up on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and would tell good stories and had a good sense of humor. Anyway, one of the great holiday movies of all time.
OK, I got to say this. This young man has some arm talent, a quick release, throws a nice ball, good mobility, his mechanics are pretty good, has good size, what am I missing here? If he develops, he will start at Michigan..... I am not a star gazer, but I did not expect his tape to look that good. Call me impressed based on expectations. Got to know he will have chip on shoulder for being under recruited too.....
Meanwhile Harbaugh is 3-2 vs PSU and have them back in the Big House next year. So likely 4-2....they are not going to any national championship game anytime soon. Also, Michigan put almost almost 400 yds against OSU while PSU got barely over 200 yds. Michigan was a dropped pass from taking them to overtime in a white out.
NBA is a players league. College is a coaches league. Players have ALL the power in the NBA. Unless you have Pat Riley or Phil Jackson gravitas and rings, you will have to adapt to your talent, not the other way around.
Crumble? I have been critical of Harbaugh at times, but I also give him credit for reinventing the offense. Likely soon, defense will have a new look. Michigan has not crumbled. Yes, OSU is the measuring stick and Michigan has not measured up. But I am convinced that will change and the tide will turn. There was a time OSU felt same way about Michigan, where Michigan won like 12 of 15 years. If Harbaugh is so bad, there is probably 15 NFL teams that would line up for him and every CFB vacancy would love to have him and many vacancies would be made for him.
I will NEVER for get what the program went through for 8-10 years. The decline started before RR. Hoke didn't have it him to build it. Harbaugh took the Michigan football from the ashes and built something that we as fans can be proud of.
You had me at "one of the best DC's in the country". I agree, but I disagree nobody will do better vs OSU. Go look at OSU scores this year at home. Over half the teams that played OSU gave up fewer points than Michigan. All those teams except PSU had less talent than Michigan. So what does that tell you?
I for one, looking forward to the offense next year. I think the team will start rolling a lot sooner. The only thing I didn't like was the wildcat yesterday. So much to be positive about offense. Lots of talent in skill positions, good oline, 4 star QB's waiting in wings, deep RB room with Evans coming back. No, the offense will be very good next year.
The wildcat on your end of field is a dumb call regardless if player doesn't follow blocker. Why you take your QB out that give you more options is beyond me. That would have been OK had OSU never seen it this week or week before. But when everyone in stands and watching knows who is getting ball, it is a dumb call.

Best Oline room in many years with one of the best Oline coaches in country. Michigan will be fine.

If Milton can harness that arm and make accurate throws, he could be the most talented prospect here since Henne.

one team ready for second half one not, you decide...
hill needs to stay one more year
So agree with this post.
Michigan is best team of field.
Best "team" on field today.... Michigan. Don't care what score is, the best team is Michigan.

PSU gave up 27 in 2018 and 28 in 2019. What defense are they running?
OSU wasn't motivated vs PSU....28 pts..
Michigan will have one of the deepest and most talented RB and QB rooms in the B1G next year.
Hire a DC and make Partridge assistant DC with a pay raise..If Brown leaves, if he stays I would still make him Assistant DC...

Imagine what DB would do with OSU talent? Give up 62 points to Michigan. Sarcasm of course...
