I was at the game tonight. First live sporting event for me since the pandemic started.
Had second row seats right by a face off circle at the end Michigan shot at twice. Man, is this team good. The puck control tonight was amazing. They skated circles around the Badgers in the offensive zone. There was one full on Sega hockey goal where M skated in circles for 30 seconds before connecting on a slam dunk one timer.
M did give up a 2 on 0 at one point but Portillo stoned them.

Ticket brokers are a scourge. It’s organized crime that hurts the ordinary person by pricing them out of the activities that their dad and grandad used to do but are now the exclusive domain of the rich.
Just make it so only conference champions are eligible and all would be solved. Georgia should be out because they essentially lost in the first round by losing to Alabama in the SEC title game. Notre Dame should be out because they refuse to join a conference.
As a side note, I find humor in the fact that if Notre Dame actually jointed the ACC instead of just playing footsie with them they probably would have won the ACC championship and very likely would be in the field of four. Suckers.

Yes, but I am peeved at how much UW’s reputation has been burnished by being in the championship game every year. Flip UM or PSU into the West and put UW into the East and the national reputations of those teams change.
They are not going to lose. Once again they are somewhere between the 3rd and 5th best team in the conference but they are going to play in the championship game because they are in the West with a bunch of MAC level programs.
Fuck Wisconsin. If there is one thing that has been proven definitively so far in the Big Ten it is that they are not one of the top two teams in the conference. I am so sick of them being rewarded year after year simply for being the only competent program in the West.
The playoff spots should go to the four best power five conference champions. Period. No having two SEC teams. No having teams from toy conferences that don’t play anyone. No Notre Dame if they insist on staying independent. If only conference champs are considered then the conference championship games become an extension of the playoff. Ten teams fighting for th four spots.
The blue pants worked better than expected when they first ran on the field. I do prefer the all white road uniforms though. Those are pretty bad-ass. Never really liked the traditional yellow pants/white shirt combo.

This playoff expansion is stupid. All you need in the current system is a requirement that only conference champions can make the 4 team playoff. Then the regular season becomes super important. The conference championship games become and extension of the playoff. And ND gets (rightly and royally) screwed. It’s easy but everyone had to preserve the ability for the SEC to get two teams in the playoff.
One perspective that seems to be consistently left out of this is the cost of being hospitalized for COVID, which can vary wildly depending on a number of factors. It’s fantastic that we are seeing better survival rates for people who are hospitalized, but the bill for survival can be very steep.
An increase in cases was inevitable as the weather turned cold and people were forced back indoors. But it didn’t have to be this bad. The states that refused to take the virus seriously certainly didn’t help those that did. If the neighboring state is a tire fire burning out of control the flames are going to spread.
I’d be curious to know if those countries have experience a major rural outbreak like we have in the US. The virus is difficult to keep a complete handle on in major population centers, but what is happening in rural America right now was mostly preventable.
His “opinion” is intentionally obtuse. Yes younger people have a very low death rate, but they also exist in a reality with other humans who may be sick or old. There are plenty of people out there who look “normal” walking down the street but have compromised immune systems.
“Opinions” like his exist only because of the plausible deniability of an invisible virus where it is impossible to tell who got it from who. Every one of the 200,000k+ people who died caught it from someone... and in many thousands of cases they certainty got it from some ass that couldn’t be bothered to think about anyone except themselves.
